Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12am Jim the Poet:

sorry about your ears
  12:12am Carmichael:

Jim The Poet! In the House!
  12:17am tuner fish:

Never had a problem with wavves
  12:18am Carmichael:

Jim, hope you passed the DJ bootcamp obstacle course and hand-to-hand combat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18am Drunken Creep:

Again a major thanks for WFMU. I don't personally gravitate toward Ed Sheeran, yet the songs are well written, well produced, well performed and relatable to humanity. When I heard that song I turned the radio off, yet stayed tuned. This station really appreciates music and positive creativity of every source.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Jim and over-nighters. Requesting some Heron Oblivion, if you please.
  12:27am Carmichael:

Jim, can you play some Haim? The kids love those gals.
Avatar 12:31am northguineahills:

That's a fun Daniel Johnston!
  12:31am karankeeone:

She (?) is cute, but almost as bad as Yoko Ono! LOL
  12:32am Carmichael:

Jim, I love you deeply.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33am Jim the Poet:

It's mutual
Avatar 12:33am northguineahills:

Carmichael, you're not Kenny G!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35am chad from oregon:

I hope the rest of Metal Machine Music make it on to the show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am chad from oregon:

I don't remember how the Metal Machine Music story ends!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am Jim the Poet:

I'll keep it cued up
  12:38am Carmichael:

Or am I?
  12:38am DEZ:

great jam!!!
Avatar 12:42am northguineahills:

@chad: Metal Machine Music would make a great musical!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am chad from oregon:

I'd go as often as I could!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am chad from oregon:

That should be a thing. Metal Machine Music: The Musical
Avatar 12:47am northguineahills:

Jeff Goldblum can play Lou Reed, Kurt Switter's Merzbau can play the Metal Machine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am Jim the Poet:

Could they play it the same way every night?
  12:50am ike:

O Jim! Excellent to hear ya!
Spin fast as yr buns can steer ya!
Soundscape slinky, hypnotic!
New Jersey sounds erotic!

Well, it sounds dang good anyway. Maybe "erotic" is too generous.
Avatar 12:51am northguineahills:

Zeitkratzer did a symphonic version of Metal Machine Music, so, I suppose it's possible.
  12:51am Jim (not the poet):

Could you play some unknown mortal orchestra?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52am Jim the Poet:

You definitely get used to the smell of NJ.
  12:57am Carmichael:

This is sufficiently jangly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58am Ken From Hyde Park:

The governor of New Jersey appears to be a real dingbat.
  12:59am Jim (not the poet):

Especially on the beaches
  1:00am Carmichael:

Jim, you are pleasing the masses. You're not like the others.
  1:00am dipshit mcfuckface:

good sounds out here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00am chad from oregon:

Metal Machine: The Beach Movie
Avatar 1:02am northguineahills:

Brian Wilson in the Machine.
  1:05am karankeeone:

Jim, have enjoyed the playlist...except for the Metal Machine Music. LOL
  1:05am Carmichael:

@chad, I think Pee Wee Herman was in that movie, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05am Jim the Poet:

Sorry about that. I needed a long song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am chad from oregon:

The governor of NJ kind of is the human version of Metal Machine Music. Like if you wanted to go as MMM for Halloween... just get a costume of him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am chad from oregon:

I think I have my Halloween costume figured out now. Amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08am chad from oregon:

Maybe a rubber mask of him and a lot of tin foil to cover the rest of the costume.
  1:08am Carmichael:

You're moving in on Joel St. Germain's playlist ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09am Jim the Poet:

  1:14am cat:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am chad from oregon:

  1:35am ugh:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37am Jim the Poet:

I never heard the end of this song during Twin Peaks the other day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38am Switchblade Batman:

Jim if I may have another, Silhouettes by The Rays. It'd go well with this one.

If not no worries
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am Switchblade Batman:

Thank ya bartender
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47am Jim the Poet:

Cheers!
  1:49am Mary Jane:

Dave hill and his guests also referenced the song Ben performed by Michael Jackson, that would be great to hear tonite
  1:49am HOLLYWOOD BILL:

Great show!
"Somebody's in Love" by the Cosmic Rays would be nice to hear right about now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54am chad from oregon:

No Ben! I don't need to dissolve into tears!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54am chad from oregon:

The tears are coming on anyway
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55am chad from oregon:

brb. I need to walk it off.
  1:58am Mary jane:

Jim the poet you fine wordsmith we need to hear Ben
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59am Jim the Poet:

Here you go
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59am chad from oregon:

Do you have Metal Machine Music pt 2 there by chance?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00am Switchblade Batman:

Didn't MJ write this about a pet rat?
  2:00am HOLLYWOOD BILL:

"The Light Pours Out of Me" by Magazine would be cool

Thanks for the Rays
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01am Jim the Poet:

I believe it is about a rat
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04am chad from oregon:

I love that new The Jesus and Mary Chain album. Always Sad is one of the best of the bunch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04am Switchblade Batman:

Holy hell, it's about a killer rat. It's such a pretty song too.

en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05am Jim the Poet:

All rats are killers
  2:06am Mary jane:

Thanks so much Jim the poet . yeah I found the rat thing out just a month ago, but the song already touched me to the core, it's really about a great friend
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07am Switchblade Batman:

Oh I love this ok go song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08am Switchblade Batman:

A great friend that leads a pack of rats to murder children.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08am chad from oregon:

It's true. Ben the rat was known for his rabies. The real story isn't as cute as the song.
  2:10am Mary jane:

Some people have sweet pet rats they love and care for. mostly only vampire girls and Michael Jackson like a rat for a pet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11am Switchblade Batman:

They're welcome to them. I can't even stand the sight of them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11am chad from oregon:

Those people all eventually die because of something the rat did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12am Switchblade Batman:

Or they did something to the rat, and it wants revenge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12am chad from oregon:

You never - never - never see old people hanging out intentionally with rats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13am chad from oregon:

Just people who are willing to die before they reach the age of 35 for the love of a killer rat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15am Jim the Poet:

That's what makes MJ's love of a rat so remarkable
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16am Switchblade Batman:

Well... MJ loved LOTS of things he wasn't supposed to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17am Jim the Poet:

The Elephant Man's bones
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18am Switchblade Batman:

Yeah... that too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18am chad from oregon:

He probably had the bones of The Rat Man too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20am chad from oregon:

That's probably who Ben really was. Part man, half rat. Now: all bones.
  2:22am HOLLYWOOD BILL:

Thanks again

"T for Texas" (the long crazy version) by the Everlys would be great
  2:39am matt:

The light pours out of me rips
  2:43am matt:

Whoa this ravonettes song rips too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44am chad from oregon:

That's because neither of those songs were about rats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45am Jim the Poet:

More rat songs next
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46am Jim the Poet:

This is the greatest episode of Showy McShowface yet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48am chad from oregon:

None of the four sides of Metal Machine Music were about rats. Fact.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51am Ken From Hyde Park:

This show is going to the rats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51am Jim the Poet:

Rats
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52am Jim the Poet:

Thanks for listening everyone! Joe is up next!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55am Switchblade Batman:
