Good evening.
  9:04pm Eddy in Australia:

Hi Evan, and anyone else who's in the house.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08pm efd:

greetings medson, Eddy, and everyone else out there who hasn't commented yet!
  9:09pm listener #126464:

what a song, album, band, etc.
  9:12pm listener #126464:

a whtg106.3 summer beach concert from early 90s might have been one of material issue's last shows. not that i want to fact-check that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm efd:

wouldn't be a surprise though
  9:14pm Julie M Brooklyn:

Oh, Stranglers. So comforting to me. Why? Why?
  9:15pm V Priceless:

Meninblack yay! Hey efd!
Avatar 9:17pm JakeGould:

Hello! Lovely set!
Avatar 9:17pm Listener Julian:

Hey Evan! Digging the show so far.
  9:19pm Julie M Brooklyn:

Oh, dear, so rude. I react to the music, but not to our host. Hi, Evan, hello, and hello to other listeners.
Avatar 9:19pm Marc Francis:

Good Man!
  9:20pm medson:

Always a killer opening set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm efd:

haha, I can read between the lines Julie! Hi there Julian, Jake, Marc, and V! Thanks for tuning in!
Avatar 9:27pm JakeGould:

!!! Hey Evan, did you hear about the Danceteria time capsule that a construction crew on 21st Street accidentally unearthed today? It was a surplus bomb they bought from an army surplus store, Danceteria folks would put notes and stuff it and it eventually got buried in the alley next to the building. Big news today because it’s a hollowed out bomb that was discovered. www.nydailynews.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm Switchblade Batman:

Hey ya all.
  9:29pm medson:

I dig this track.
  9:30pm listener #126464:

heard about the time capsule. didn't hear it was from DANCETERIA!
Avatar 9:32pm JakeGould:

There’s probably a stale joint in that bomb.
  9:39pm Jackie Bradley Jr.:

mad corny
  9:39pm Eddy in Australia:

JakeGould: Thanks for the Danceteria item. Timely, since I'm currently reading Life and Death on the New York Dance Floor!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44pm efd:

@Jake I saw a headline about that but didn't know the full story. So did they end up blowing it up?

@JBJ 'sup
Avatar 9:49pm JakeGould:

@efd: Not that I know of. All the pictures show them opening it up to examine it. The Daily News states, “Cops who found the prop Wednesday quickly gave the all-clear after a bomb squad crew determined there was no threat.” So hey! Could be a new piece of NYC music history up for grabs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm efd:

I need to get that for a marathon grand prize next year!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm medson:

lets hope its not empty efd. don't want you to look like geraldo rivera haha
  9:56pm Mike tp:

ol gumba really enjoyed the rem track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm efd:

ha, of course I would personally inspect it first :D
  9:57pm Stevel:

Awesome twitchy set!
Avatar 9:59pm JakeGould:

@efd: Would be hilarious to see the volunteer office try to find a box to fit it.
  10:04pm herb.nyc:

In chuck klosterman's bk of esssys, X (2009), which I'm skim/reading, he writes, in the Abba chapter, that AC/DC was said to be irrelevant in 1979, 1984, 1989, 1991, 1997, 2001 and 2008, w various reasons. Reminds me of the U2 talk recently. Hmm, how about R.E.M.? How about Billy Joel, who's at mad sq garden tonight. (Excuse me for muckraking)
Avatar 10:05pm JakeGould:

For the record, I really enjoyed the Billy Squier but I was doing other things. *sips tea*
  10:07pm herb.nyc:

Spk'ng of Glen Morrow, friends and I talked to him once (at Death By Audio, when England's Standard Fare played. Google their "Philadelphia" song). Real nice man.
  10:10pm herb.nyc:

Spk'ng of Billy Squier, friends and I saw him at Dr Pepper fest at pier 84, NYC, opening for Pat Benatar, 1982,83? Wish I had better memory.
Avatar 10:11pm Roberto:

It's about time this song was brought back. It's more relevant now than ever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm medson:

i really want to try and make this show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm Barkevious Shabazz:

This Xetas is quite charming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm Barkevious Shabazz:

And where is that Game Theory record?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm efd:

the unfinished/refinished one? I think I heard Doug Gillard say on Joe Belock's show that it's coming pretty soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Barkevious Shabazz:

Thanks EFD!
  10:23pm Wednesday Campanella:

Awesome tune isn't it? My body is heating up today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm medson:

i sawJoe Belock at the Garbeque yesterday. I didn't wanna interrupt to say hi
  10:35pm herb.nyc:

Did Evan say Compost Records? Well I volunteer for the Lower East Side Ecology Center, a 30 yo group. --- plz tell the Dion joke again, for those who haven't heard it.
  10:39pm herb.nyc:

(Aside: at the 3 food scraps sites I manned in lower Manhattan's Chinatown, >50,000 lbs was collected, 2016. --- I'm still laughing at that Dion joke.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, fellow garbaggio madson. I was there yesterday, too. I had a chance to talk to Joe...nice guy. I don't think we were introduced, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Barkevious Shabazz:

Just recently, Dave Mandl said "I think Joe Boyd produced "midnight at the (ticket) oasis". True?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm medson:

efd. did you get a chance to check out Kill West?
  11:07pm Carmichael:

Heya Evan and funksters. @herb, yep re: Boyd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm efd:

aahhhhh, thank you for that Ken FHP!
  11:14pm Mike tp:

good pan!
  11:21pm herb.nyc:

Swedish band sings in Finnish? Might be funnier than the Dion knock knock joke. -- thx Carmichael, plz call Dave Mandl pronto.
  11:22pm Carmichael:

I've always had a problem with the science of selling.
  11:22pm JakeGould:

Action. Knowledge. Power. Practice. Attitude. Action. Knowledge. Power. Practice. Attitude. Action. Knowledge. Power. Practice. Attitude. Action. Knowledge. Power. Practice. Attitude.
  11:23pm Carmichael:

Is this the guy on the Tubes album?
  11:25pm Eddy in Australia:

I pop out for a while and miss Anne Cessna! That was the b-side of her 45. I think they only ever recorded the two songs.
  11:25pm herb.nyc:

For Dr Chuck Iapp- chuck klosterman interviewee says "never take 'maybe' for an answer. 90% of the time, 'maybe' means 'probably'. Just keep talking."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25pm efd:

nope, contemporaries but on the opposite coast
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26pm efd:

@medson did not check out Kill West yet... too busy doing nothing over the long weekend. :)
  11:27pm Carmichael:

These sales technique audios are interesting, in a strange way ...
