Mizell Brothers rabbit-hole time! This is superb.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Passaic River Blues:

I think you played something off this record last year and it's still kicking my ass.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm KRYPT:

Hey there Duane, how's the hangover? ;) Looks like you had a good time at them nuptuals. Hi everyone.
Avatar 12:41pm Duane:

Hey KRYPT!! We're hanging in :)
  12:55pm Cecile:

The only SIa song I liked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm KRYPT:

This is the nose guitar sexgazing version, ohh yeeeah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Alejandroool:

Oh how I love you, Computer Blue. The version of this live around '83 at that Minneapolis benefit show at First Ave. is incredible but the Youtube vid is gone now :/
  1:01pm Cecile:

That Air was from the 70s? Swear to god they all looked like they were from Chicago or Brooklyn or somewhere like that right now..,
Avatar 1:01pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Logging in to Computer Blue!
Avatar 1:05pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

I always expect to hear Darling Nikki immediately after this...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm The Oscar:

Never heard this before-- this is incredible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm KRYPT:

Sexgaze, it's a thing
Avatar 1:07pm Jshatan:

Sounds like the Purple One was familiar with Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Michael 98145:

this is so great
Avatar 1:18pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm Jaina Bee:

what year is this from?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Alejandroool:

I think it's from an '84 rehearsal
Avatar 1:34pm Jshatan:

Now THIS I like - a warm blanket of screaming synth passion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Itzall Ablurr:

So good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Passaic River Blues:

I just read a fairly crappy but still enjoyable Prince biography, in which it's discussed that Prince lied about his age when courting and signing with Warner Brothers. He said he was 17 but he had really already attained the advanced age of 19.
  1:41pm Cecile:

Now, did Brazilian music influence Joni Mitchell, the other way around, or was there any kind of back and forth conversation?
  1:44pm Anonymous Coward:

@Cecile - Brasil 66 is your answer
Avatar 1:44pm Duane:

Cecile: More the other way around i think. Joni's mentioned that by '71 she was mainly solely interested in Brazilian music and Jazz. Terry Reid the same
Avatar 1:45pm Duane:

Terry Reid saying he was influenced by Veloso, Gil and Nascimento
Avatar 1:46pm Jshatan:

This Joyce is just dreamy.
  1:47pm Cecile:

That makes a whole lot of sense! Thanks Duane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Passaic River Blues:

Wow, I just started Veloso's memoir this morning on the PATH train, "Tropical Truth". So far, about 25 pages in, Veloso is showing he's a brilliant dude and worships Joao Gilberto.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Michael 98145:

@PRB, i'll have to see if our library has a copy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Michael 98145:

- thank you, beautiful women -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm KRYPT:

Yeah, women and girls ruled his world!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Passaic River Blues:

@Mike 98145: it's an old advanced reader's copy I bought at a library book sale. I could pass it along when I'm done. Hit me up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Michael 98145:

- thanks -

"You don't want to wind up on the outside of your love bubble." True. True.
Avatar 2:25pm Whosondephone:

It's Disco!
  2:27pm Cecile:

This sounds a little August Darnell-ish...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Passaic River Blues:

Um, this is dope.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Michael 98145:

Nude Jerzee doesn't sound safe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Passaic River Blues:

@Michael: hahaha Probably not. Picturing Chris Christie stomping in the buff to this down at Drumthwacket... <<shivers>>.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 2:39pm Duane:

He'd be a lot mo' cooler if he diiiid
