the polybetsian (sp) dance number 2 by borodin was the lilting theme from stranger in paradise - that was the commercial with the second mr. french.

bluto vs brutus - how come they never crossed paths?

Old Dave:

Since you asked, I think my memories are pretty damned important as far as relating to life and surviving at 50-something in today's society. You are free to prove me wrong...

Ken From Hyde Park:

Ever notice how The Lion King movie is Shakespeare's Hamlet?

Listener Robert:

Bluto & Brutus crossed paths, but nothing interesting enough to record visually occurred.

Fox (Rā-chul):

When I was in junior high, I watched Slaughterhouse 5 and was crushed to find out that the way I perceived the universe (as a path through a series of infinite moments) was already thought of.

Listener Robert:

"Lost" was Damon Lindelof's "Hamlet", which is why Michael Emerson (fresh off "Hamlet") was cast in the role equivalent to Hamlet. Also equivalent to Howard Finch, the Basil Dignam character in "One of Our Aircraft Is Empty" on "Department S", after which "Lost" was also partly modeled. Which is why the character Emerson played subsequently on "Person of Interest" was called Harold Finch.

Drama is so incestuous, huh? One long joke about each other.

Vonnegut is better to read, Fox. Like Updike and Pynchon... no film will ever make you see that in a truly personal way if you can do the work of reading it for yourself!
Avatar 7:47pm
Fox (Rā-chul):

Yeah, I read it a few years later.

That fucking dog episode of Futurama. That's the most heartbreaking animated thing I've ever seen.

Love Hearty for pointing out how Shakespeare means something different (yet relevant) to audiences over time.
Just earlier today reading GB Shaw and GK Chesterton going on (and on!) about the plays 100 years ago
in public press.

IFisher:

So now we know. The Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus had its source in toilet troubles.
I'm not surprised. Bertrand Russell had his halitosis, and got his undies in a bundle over logical contradictions. Or something like that.
