Funny: I was just describing to the missus the whole package of mandatory movies from that time period: Repo Man, The River's Edge, Suburbia, etc... some have aged better than others.
Avatar 9:35am Marty McSorley:

the life of wfmu is always intense
  9:37am listener Rey:

@brendanswfmuaccount an excellent idea for this cold weekend! also going to look for that biker movie where "We can ride our machines and not get hassled by the man!" comes from

- 'Wild Angels' w/ PeterFonda.
Avatar 9:41am Chris from DC:

Oops, yes it is.
Avatar 9:50am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Probably devolves even more from 'Wild One' w/ Brando ('53).
Seen surprisingly few of those RTD...Would 'Decline of Western Civ. Part 1' almost count? No? Seen RepoMan of course - so which others hold up?

Matt into Marty is the best one-two punch since Shaq and Kobe.
Avatar 10:03am Itzall Ablurr:

If you're gonna' watch Repo Man, try Maximum Overdrive as a 2nd feature. Your IQ may drop to Drumpfian levels while it's on, but it will be fun.
  10:05am Blix:

Border Radio would be a nice one to add to that viewing list.
Avatar 10:07am bobdoesthings:

am I the only one who starts checking his watch during this intro monologue.. ?

  10:41am Mark R:

This Love track is one of the most amazing things I've ever heard. I saw a youtube video of Arthur Lee performing this onstage many years later with the strings and everything--very impressive.

  10:42am Mark R:

I'm ashamed to admit I wasn't really aware of this record until about 15 years ago--then I played it every day for a whole summer like 1 14 year-old does. It's burned deep into my psyche now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am Mike Sin:

"You Set the Scene" never gets old. Could possibly be my favorite musical moment of the 1960s.
  10:44am Anonymous Coward:

I love Love
Avatar 10:44am Chris from DC:

Yeah the tour with the strings and was pretty amazing. Lucky to have seen Arthur a couple of times.
Avatar 10:47am Cecile:

I saw Arthur performing with laryngitis, and it was still amazing. So much feeling.
Avatar 10:48am CDToaster:

@Mike Sin: I knew that although we had a rough start, we had something strong in common; "You Set The Scene" IS my #1 most favorite song of all time. Thanks, Marty.
