I've been hearing the term "Epic Blunder" a lot since last night. Possibly a good name for a band and if not, then certainly a good name for an album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Clïff in Prägůe:

Or how about "Wrong Envelope"
Avatar 3:11pm geezerette:

Good name for a country. :)
Avatar 3:12pm geezerette:

I'm from Epic Blunder. You?

Epic Blunder playing a show soon at Monty Hall, with Wrong Envelope and This Is Not A Joke opening.

Faye had another good band name yesterday: "Dull Headache." Them and "Epic Blunder" open for "Power Nap."

Hate to Ask Dept.: Does this truly way kewl gif (I presume it is) slow the page reloading wayy down for anybody else - or just my ancient Mac (my problem & nevermind) ?
Damn this is a great track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Bas NL:

Don't know what made me type that...

@RRN63, sometimes a page reload is necessary for the playlist to update ...

no, what i meant was sometimes the playlist stalls until the page is intentionally reloaded ..

Barbarella is a masterpiece of camp, pretty pretty. Now decrucify the angel or I'll melt your face!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm annie:

never seen "Barbarella".... never drawn to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Michael 98145:

it was of its time ...

You mean they could still be living in a primitive state of neurotic irresponsibility?
Avatar 3:50pm Jeff:

Hey, Scott. As I may have mentioned, if you want a kid-friendly but not-a-chore-to-watch-for-adults fillum to watch with the daughter, check out "Hunt for the Wilderpeople". New Zealandian, 2016, fun.
Avatar 3:51pm geezerette:

Keep wanting to sing "If I Were A Bell". Love that song.
  3:52pm River:

Barbarella teaches an essential moral lesson, more relevant today than ever: all problems can be solved by gettin' jiggy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Scott Williams:

I see we have some Barbarella fans here! I enjoyed it for 15 minutes. @geezerette, great song, sing it! In fact, if you wanna call in and sing it 201-536-9368, I'll put you on the air. would prob go nice with this Olympic Mess
Avatar 3:56pm geezerette:

...dance & sing, in a Salvation Army uniform.
BUT, I'm (shhh) supposed to be WORKING.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Scott Williams:

ah well... well, if anyone else wants to call in and sing "If I Were A Bell", I'll put you on the air
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Ike:

Agreed that Barbarella is super lame. They needed to let Jane Fonda kick some ass, but nope! Of its time, and its time was totally pfffft.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Clïff in Prägůe:

*looks up Barbarella on IMDB*
That looks fantastically awful. Downloading it now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm Scott Williams:

@Cliff, it's *supposed* to be. it's not, it's just straight boring
  4:05pm Brendan:

Barbarosa on the other hand was an ok movie...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Clïff in Prägůe:

Oh crud, I hate it when camp misses its mark.

Soo.....any fans of Pink Flamingos?
Avatar 4:07pm northguineahills:

Yet, Operation Bararosa didn't end up too well for a certain Austrian....
Avatar 4:07pm geezerette:

Barbarella would have been a GREAT calendar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Lewis:

Is this the musical equivalent of Barbarella? (glad I am not the only one who found the movie stultifying)
Avatar 4:07pm northguineahills:

Who doesn't like Pink Flamingos?
  4:08pm River:

I wouldn't say it's supposed to be awful. It's supposed to be softcore porn. But it is significant in not shaming or punishing Barbarella for her sexual agency.
  4:08pm River:

I don't like Pink Flamingos. That poor chicken...
Avatar 4:09pm geezerette:

She's just a girl who can't say "no".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Clïff in Prägůe:

*That* is the one scene I can't watch in that movie....jeeeeeez
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Parq:

Okay, you guys are making me feel old. I remember the original release of "Barbarella" and all the fuss over it. Who knew then how much more of a fuss Jane Fonda would come to kick up in the country?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Scott Williams:

Ernie Anastos had something to say about that scene in Pink Flamingos
  4:12pm River:

What confuses me about Pink Flamingos is about how the final scene is always what people talk about, as though that's the most shocking and outrageous bit. Almost like they haven't seen it...
  4:13pm JakeGould:

"Pink Flamingos" is a horrible film. But the scenes are memorable. John Water's films are spectacles, not bibles.

And "Barbarella" is not boring. It's tedious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Scott Williams:

yeah, the chicken scene was the worst. Divine had a say in eating dogshit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Scott Williams:

a fine distinction, JakeGould!
  4:16pm River:

Well, the crew ate the chicken apparently. I guess that asks interesting questions about the way we apply ethics to animal lives.
  4:16pm JakeGould:

It's like as much as I like classic Godzilla films, ever try to just watch one? Holy crap. So bad. But the fights? Prime stuff!
Avatar 4:17pm fred:

@JakeGould: I would submit that the bible has memorable scenes, but gets tedious as well
Avatar 4:19pm Chris from DC:

I kind of like the original Godzilla.
Avatar 4:19pm geezerette:

Avatar 4:20pm northguineahills:

I love how prolific Conrad Scnitzler was. What a treasure!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Clïff in Prägůe:

I hate that IMDB have now deleted their comments forums, I used to find recommendations for all kinds of wacky flicks in there
  4:21pm JakeGould:

@Chris: The only old school Godzilla film with a plot worth anything is "King Kong versus Godzilla." Scientists basically get Godzilla drunk, airlift him to fight Godzilla and then repeat. Best plot ever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Hello Scott! It's writing time, so I can tune in now. This Conrad Schnitzler seems like good writing music.
Avatar 4:21pm geezerette:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Scott Williams:

Hola Wendy! Always nice to see you. Yes, Schnitzler is excellent writing musik
Avatar 4:27pm Chris from DC:

@Jake: that is the best monster battle ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Carmichael:

Heya Scott and rockers. My favorite phrase is Oscar Fallout.
  4:37pm River:

Well, that was a journey and a half!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Parq:

Jake, I know some people who would insist that your Godz/Kong synopsis describes their marriage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Ooh, that was a smooooth segueway between Schnitzler and Tinariwen. Beautifully done, Scott! (I'm a fan of a nice segue.)
Avatar 4:38pm Cecile:

Tinariwen, putting the T in Hayati
Avatar 4:39pm TDK60:

Hi Scott. I love this Saharan sound. Got to see Tinariwen a few years back, hypnotic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Bas NL:

Great dessert rock!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Ike:

Wait, they ate the chicken afterwards? I feel like I should've known that. This was much better work on Cookie's part as far as I'm concerned:
But then I'm not into campy movies.
Avatar 4:39pm northguineahills:

Wow, new the Tinariwen is on Anti Recs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Scott Williams:

Thanks Wendy! Always happy when it works
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Ike, now I have to go get Cookie's books from the library. Thanks for the link!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Wendy del Formaggio:

OMG, Thomas Dolby! SCIENCE!
  4:44pm River:

@Ike Yep, that's what John Waters said during an interview about it. He was very remorseless, he said he thought he improved the chicken's life by making it famous.
