Hey Fabio! The failure of a 'blizzid' to stop Strength Through Failure! Way Cool!

Thanks geezerette, I have a copy of Oblique Strategies so now I'm going to have to get this anagrammed version too ;)

greetings Fabio and Failure army
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Clïff in Prägůe:

I remember Kurt Gottschalk did an entire show where he picked the next song to play by drawing a card from Oblique Strategies....the very last card he drew at the end of the show was, "Is it finished?"

40 years ago a musician friend obtained a bumper sticker from a newly opened music supply place, the bumper sticker read, 'Support Your Local Musician Rock World Oklahoma City, Ok.' He cut it apart, rearanged the letters to read, " Slurp up a loco musicians rot. Rock Wart. Cidly, Ok' and pasted the thing onto the back of his Rambler. I will never forget that.

Fabio is killing it as usual

Someone gave me a little Orgone Accumulator. All I've experienced so far is that the shards of metal sticking out will cut my hand if I'm not careful.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orgone Orgone is a pseudoscientific[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] and spiritual concept described as an esoteric energy or hypothetical universal life force, originally proposed in the 1930s by Wilhelm Reich.[8][9][10]

Nothing better than listening to Hawkwind and watching the relentless rain here in droughtworld.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Devin B.:

A favorite Ribeiro song. Thanks, Fabio!
Avatar 3:53pm SheWolf:

Child's play here, about 5-6 inches I'm guessing. Hi Cecile!
Avatar 3:54pm Whooda:

@cliff That is funny! @Cecilel WV has had snow flurries between days of record shattering high temps will be in 70's on Friday. It is pathetic how desperate the national weather forcasters are for big stories, they are playing up the fact that New York will get A WHOLE FOOT, YES! MEASURED IN FOOTS, ONE FOOT OF SNOW!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Carmichael:

@Sem: We suddenly have the opposite problem. We are opening the weirs (by hand, that's how often we need them) to fill the Davis causeway, and closing the floodgates to protect North Sacramento from flooding. The levees are actually imperiled. Exciting stuff ...
Avatar 3:59pm Whooda:

OOF! Fake weather news for a post-factual world. Sunday will be near 70 degerees, not Friday. Friday still as cold as a witches tit in Omaha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm dgg:

this is exactly what the inside of my skull sounds like sometimes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm dgg:

only with less music
Avatar 4:02pm Whooda:

Hey Charmicale, sounds like Discovery Park is probably under three or four feet of water and Old Sac sweating bullets that they will get washed away if the levy breaks.
Avatar 4:05pm fred:

Patrice Moullet (the driving force in Alpes) will have an installation in Boston in July
Avatar 4:09pm Cecile:

Hey, SheWolf!
Avatar 4:09pm Cecile:

Hey, Fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Lewis:

Why is the droney music so appealing? I love it! but can only listen if at work or if I am home alone... (hi Cecile!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm melinda:

Lewis I agree, love the drone.
Avatar 4:11pm Whooda:

Hey Fred that looks like it will be a fun show, very ambitious. "This workshop, also called "AEM", is Patrice Moullet's workplace, where he designs instruments that combine sculptural aesthetics and cutting-edge technologies specially developed for this purpose." from wikiwand
  4:12pm SeanG:

drone alone with the drone alone drone
Avatar 4:14pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

all-weather drone fan, here.
always & forever, in all circumstances.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Carmichael:

@Whooda, yep it's the usual concerns. Discovery Park is underwater, and the levees at Sac State are up to the brim with water. I can't remember seeing the American River so high.
  4:17pm Polyus:

Drones can get you in all kinds of weather.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm common:

hey there fabio. everyone. good to be here this early for a change.
Avatar 4:22pm Cecile:

Hey Lewis!
Avatar 4:23pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

holy crap what just happened.
Avatar 4:23pm northguineahills:

Wow, new to me, missed the show (@ IPR), and reminds me of Tony Conrad in full bliss-mode. Thanks Fabio!

Also, what the good Rev. Turnip Druid just said....
Avatar 4:26pm fred:

@NGH: are you still waiting for news about that job?
Avatar 4:28pm northguineahills:

@fred: yes. It might be awhile until they even get the budget for the job. One I applied for in September just emailed me Monday saying they decided not to create the job in the first place. Thanks for asking, and always a pleasure to see up and healthy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm dgg:

Avatar 4:34pm Cecile:

I got this in the mail today. And I wouldn't know him if it wasn't for Instagram. Yay social media!

  4:35pm Ochre Ogre:

I smell baked Fabio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The bitter sun is poking through the cloud banks here, leaving the snow piles shimmering in a soft, golden hue.
Avatar 4:36pm Chris from DC:

Possession is really intense.
Avatar 4:36pm Cecile:

NGH, if this is any consolation, a friend of mine waited three years for one agency to fund a job for him. The first job fell through as he was moving across country.
Avatar 4:37pm SheWolf:

Those are some great films at IFC.
Avatar 4:38pm fred:

@NGH: I've been through that too, hanging on at a crappy job waiting for funding to come through for a better one. It was worth the wait: one of the last job interviews involved a bottle of Port Ellen, which didn't survive the proceedings
Avatar 4:41pm northguineahills:

My last full time job took 9 months from the first interview to actually starting.
Avatar 4:42pm Sem Chumbo:

@fred: impressed by the whisky no longer made.
Was it peaty enough for you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm coelacanth∅:

hey common!

...i assumed port ellen was port. hmm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm Bootsie:

Can anyone tell me what was playing behind the DJ? Thanks!
Avatar 4:46pm fred:

@Sem: Yes. But there was so much more to it. Karuizawa was another lost distillery that had great stuff that had peat but went way beyond it. Why do my fave distilleries go out of business? Is that related to my love of weird music?
Avatar 4:48pm Sem Chumbo:

Yes, in this case correlation IS causation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm coelacanth∅:

i love weird music but my favorite whiskey is pretty standard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm coelacanth∅:

Bootsie, Fabio has noted it on some playlists before, but i don't remember.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Bas NL:

Sipping my Tobermory Ledaig single cask here at the moment.. heavenly peaty.
Avatar 4:55pm fred:

@Sem: but which one is causing the other? My usual supplier does have some Glen Breton, but it's very expensive, and people I trust on such matters were subtly advising it wasn't worth it
Avatar 4:57pm Sem Chumbo:

I'm no whisky guy, I suggest you take their advice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm Bootsie:

Thanks anyway @coelacanth∅. :-)
Avatar 4:59pm northguineahills:

Bas NL knows his schiidt.

Digging these foreign bears that can't hit a proper pitch...
Avatar 4:59pm Cecile:

Fred, they always discontinue my favorite art supplies. Right now, I know I'll have to start hoarding everything to do with Rotring ArtPens before I can't afford them anymore.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Michael 98145:

speaking of drones : www.youtube.com...
Avatar 5:00pm geezerette:

This is like being in a submarine with E. A. Poe.
Avatar 5:01pm Cecile:

I'm not a whiskey, whisky, or bourbon fan. It either tastes like dirt or wood flooring to me.
Avatar 5:02pm Cecile:

Considering I like earthy and woody tastes in food, that's weird, but there you go.
Avatar 5:02pm geezerette:

Poe loved wood flooring. Cheers!
Avatar 5:04pm northguineahills:

I'm a whisk(e)y/scotch & tequila/mezcal guy. I wish I could afford the good stuff. Soon....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Bas NL:

@NGH Hope you get there soon..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm melinda:

Avatar 5:09pm fred:

Holy shit! I have one last bottle of Port Ellen I've been saving for a special occasion that never came around. I looked it up and it's selling for £1500. At this rate this will be my retirement fund
