Yo Chris!
There was this one mallard that used to hang out outside the Quick Chek in Bloomfield. He was super cool.
Avatar 12:04pm bobdoesthings:

heya chrisM!
  12:04pm Brendan:

Beuatiful song. Hi Chris and whomever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Chris M. and imaginoids. Saw a pair of mallards in some open water just the other day. Most of them migrate south for the winter.
Avatar 12:06pm Chris M.:

hi everybody mallards rule
  12:07pm Listener142985:

50 as in 50 albums? That's impressive. Really nice song.
  12:07pm Mike:

I used to work with a funny guy named DANNY MALLARD

Hello everyone \o/ Great opening set
  12:11pm jt:

there is a space Sebado takes which nothing else can fill
Avatar 12:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

i've seen that name for ages but have no idea what it is. And how does one pronounce it? Seh-BAY-doe? That sounds a bit like an affliction of the joints amongst the elderly. SEBBA-doe? A flaky substrate for baked savo(u)ries?

.........also: hello friends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Bronwyn Bishop:

hey chris and everyone!
Avatar 12:20pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

AH NICE, found this Ka-Spel just last week on yonder bandcamp. Large yay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Cliff in Prague:

Avatar 12:23pm Chris M.:

@Rev. Turnip Druid: yeah the legendary pink dots bandcamp is a treasure trove
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Andrew Waterloo:

Almost as exciting has hitting the LPD merch table in the early 2000's
Avatar 12:26pm coelacanth∅:

greetings Chris and hello figments
Avatar 12:27pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@Andrew: the LPD merch table just last year (DC show) was dangerous enough. That Ka-Spel box set (dream logik) blew the bank, but was very worth it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

se-BAH-doh ? Yay Ka-Spel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm Cliff in Prague:

/'sɛ.bǝ.do/ - stress on the 1st syllable, that's how I've always heard it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The Vassar College station here played a recording of someone saying "Sebadoh" like 200 times. It said "SEBBA-doe," like RTD mentioned. That was about 30 years ago when I heard that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Andrew Waterloo:

Yah, I wish I caught them last year when they played Toronto.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- yes ok. & whence does the name derive (fwiw)? Lit, Culture, Nowhere?
  12:32pm Patrick Hambrecht:

I like Message Saved.
Avatar 12:34pm coelacanth∅:

Lou Barlow pronounces it D'OH.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...there's some hidden track some CD or something - they're totally goofing saying 'Sebadoh' every which way...not helpful...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@RRN63 - That's probably the thing I head back then.
Avatar 12:38pm coelacanth∅:

silly me all these years satisfied with just saying it as it looks.
Avatar 12:39pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

showing my ignorance, obviously. I've seen the name in written form for ages but couldn't identify their material if life depended on it. & tuned in here a few minutes too late. ah well.
Avatar 12:39pm Chris M.:

don't worry, i'll pronounce it properly
Avatar 12:45pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

please don't.

In high school typing class we had these HUGE late-70s Olympia desk models that probably weighed 50 pounds. Epic machines. To this day I still type like I'm punching the devil INNAFACE. ... surely my co-workers love that.
Avatar 1:09pm Chris M.:

@psysci: thank you. now everyone please go there and tell me your fingerspeed scores. this is required.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm psysci:

im about 47 words per minute and i type with mostly my pointers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Cliff in Prague:

Bling www.reddit.com...
Avatar 1:12pm coelacanth∅:

that looks like a good piece of equipment. mechanical.
just thinking yesterday, after the cd player in the car decided to turn the volume to 0 because i went over a bump, how much better things functioned when they were mechanical, rather than electronic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I refuse a keyboard has better f*cking dental care than I do.

Avatar 1:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

haven't done a timed test since 10th grade, on those Olympias. That was six million thousand years ago, and my speed has suffered since then. 85wpm now... snif.

Always reminded - 'Beverly Hillbillies' : Jethro goes Secretarial School. Look @ him!: Typing sooo fast! What are you typing?! Oh...it has to be - words ??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Cliff in Prague:

74 wpm for me. Just in the 90th percentile!
Avatar 1:20pm map:

that fingerspeed test is kind of easy, no caps or punctuation. usually i get 90-100
  1:21pm Brendan:

Remember that episode when Jethro ate a bag of cement and got a bad stomach ache?
Avatar 1:22pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I remember the tests in school had a formula for deducting words-per-minute results if there were errors. At least my 85 was accurate... HA! TAKE THAT, teach!
Avatar 1:22pm Chris M.:

i checked out my fingerspeed and they gave me a pop-up window that said, "prove you are not a robot." i clicked the check mark and the whole computer crashed.

so i guess it's pretty fast.
Avatar 1:22pm coelacanth∅:

ha! it's not easy! it's a group of unconnected words. i have to look up every 2-3 words. that's a lot slower than when you know what you want to say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- yeah - I keep expecting it to - *mean* something...it's faster if you're an Existentialist...
Avatar 1:24pm psy-cheeks:

i don't know why but i never actually learned how to "properly type", like i know there's like a way to maximize your typing skill
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Cliff in Prague:

I know it's weird to comment on the music, but I really liked the last 2 songs from Deutsche Ashram and Parlor Walls.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm psysci:

it made perfect sense to me

Avatar 2:45pm coelacanth∅:

RR - agree totally...though i've never been harrassed on the phone to that degree because when i've worked at stores as manager i've always had the green light to be rude to customers if they were rude to me; or brutally playful in return for pranks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Hard call - I can grok the Zen lesson of waking to playfulness & absurdity - but been a wageslave long enuff to be uncomfortable when people who are pinned by circumstance - & even just trying to provide a service (bookstores, libraries) get targeted (otoh - some librarians have ticked me off)... I suppose we dig it because we've all overdosed on Bureaucracy & phony 'Respectability' that's really something else...THe Marx. Bros. & Three Stooges hired people to play straight men, tho'...
