Good morning all. It was your birthday, no, Jeff? Hope it was fun!

Jeff Golick:

It's true; I am solidly middle aged. And of course some of us have of course come through much worse (looking at you, @fred). But truly the fragile situation in the US has made me feel similarly fragile.

I've been thinking of the old Woody Allen line lately: "I've been classified 4P. In the event of war, I'm a hostage."

i know this will rub some people the wrong way ... i'd rather have a leader who actually spews his truth than one who lies to our faces and bombs innocent civilians while doing so. this president's honesty may not be up to most people's snuff, but at least he's not lying to us. for now.. at least, maybe.. and, to be clear: i dislike all people who are in public office due to the very fact that they lie to my face with a grin and a handshake. they're all the same. we buy the lies because we don't want the truth, no matter how awful it is. ... this one is just plain egregious.
