Bet that wasn't the same Angel that Frank Zappa wrote "Punky's Whips" about.

Burn, baby, Burn.
Hello and good morning, Nate, and burners, all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51am pacific standard simon:

Hard to believe that it was released 6 months before Sgt. Pepper.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55am Nate K.:

@Pac standard si, i feel like that deserves recognition... I'll do my best.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

doors 1st was 4th Jan., the Human Be-On the 14rh...& we're off...It may be weird reflecting on the Summer of Love *this* year...like noting how much Half a Century is another world...I do remember one year watching 'Monterey Pop' & suddenly notably feeling it was irretrievably remote - even as an echo...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59am pacific standard simon:

I wish that the Ig had been well enough to replace Jim in the Doors -- he was considered...

...w/ the swavastikas (reversed) - I will choose to see those as Hindu...& move on...
Avatar 7:16am future transport:

Swastika is ancient holy symbol about two hundred years old. It is found in all parts of the world in many cultures and religions. The Nazi Ideology used the Swastika incorrectly and disgraced this holy symbol of natural forces. This video shows the use Swastika before the rise of Nazism. Swastika needs to return its good name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17am pacific standard simon:

Too soon, by about 500 years.
Avatar 7:18am future transport:

how about forever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20am pacific standard simon:

Who brought it up?
Avatar 7:21am future transport:

but if you knew that PSS "too soom, by about 500 years , .. then why the bad vibes ? .. or from any of you ?
Avatar 7:22am future transport:

who brought what up PSS ? Sacredness ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24am Nate K.:

Debate on, no problem here, honestly. But that"ancient holy symbol" argument always fall flat for me.

Suffice to say? ft's expression of enthusiasm - & the symbol has yet to be 'reclaimed' & some are bugged by it. Next?

TOPT destroyed the waves with that show yesterday. Started it out with a tsunami & lasted for3hrs.

Sounding a little rough there Nate. You're a trooper, thanks for spinning the jams! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Don: Just Rawk'n'Roll...It seems such an unassuming thing - but it's like a Thesis what he presents...

@HowardF Losing my voice a bit? Yeah.
Avatar 7:47am Howard F:

@Nate: I've always admired the dedication of the FMU DJ's. You guys always show up, very inspiring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah - the best music curating being broadcast is by presenters here that don't even get paid - & the best station - w/ playlists, comments, archives, five streams & more - for a fraction of other stations' budgets. It's a freaking miracle.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Are the Moondogs an example of this term 'Bash&Pop'? I kinda hope it's a trend...
Avatar 8:31am Howard F:

Interesting tidbit from wikipedia--- The 1992 Radiohead song "Creep" uses a similar chord progression and shares some melodic content with "The Air That I Breathe". As a result, Hammond and Hazlewood sued Radiohead for plagiarism and won.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42am ultradamno:

New James Chance sounding pretty good. Along with the new Half Japanese (advance streaming at NPR) proof the old school can still deliver the goods now and then.
Avatar 8:46am DonJuanTijuana:

@NateK, Everytime I listen to your show, I have this addictive habit of having to pick up tunes from Amazon that I don't have (ie. Last week, it was the Lavender Flu & the David Nance CD). Cheers! Great Show!
