Happy 2017, CM!
  12:02pm Polyus:

Whoa, so that's how it's gonna be huh?
Avatar 12:07pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

that leopard is TRIPPIN', man.
Avatar 12:08pm Chris M.:

hi everybody! so much great music came out in 2016 this is gonna be jam-packed.
Avatar 12:18pm KP:

Hi, Chris. Happy New Year!
Avatar 12:19pm Chris M.:

@Greg from ZONE 5 @KP: happy new year dudes
Avatar 12:21pm Cecile:

this has a great great postpunk feel to it!

Chris, I hope you liked a song or two off the last Kvelertak release.
Avatar 12:26pm Chris M.:

@Cecile: only one way to find out! stay tuned!
  12:26pm Polyus:

It really was a good year, and I didn't even buy much stuff. Just based on everything I heard around here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Mister Dobalina:

Nice track, thanks for playin'.
  12:27pm Polyus:

I know I saw more good shows in 2016 than probably the last three years before that.
Avatar 12:27pm Cecile:

how is the rest of the Pleasure Model album?
Avatar 12:28pm Chris M.:

@Cecile: my answer to that question is the same for all of these albums: it's great
Avatar 12:30pm Cecile:

The only shows I saw (besides drag shows) were the Guerilla Girls, the Decibel Tour, and Flight of the Conchords.
Avatar 12:30pm Cecile:

excellent. All killer, no filler!
Avatar 12:39pm Cecile:

this one was a good 'un!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Greg from ZONE 5:

@Polyus: Me too, possibly because I saw shows almost exclusively at Monty Hall.
Avatar 12:49pm Chris M.:

there's a special secret prize for anyone who checks out the Imaginary Radio facebook page later on in the show today: www.facebook.com...
Avatar 12:53pm Chris from DC:

Yes! Big second on Abbath by the way.
  12:56pm nickrhombi:

punishing set. dang.
Avatar 12:58pm Jim Devoid:

Magrudergrind reminds me of Stack, a band from Germany in the 90's.
Avatar 12:59pm fred:

Good afternoon Chris and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I like this programming today.
Avatar 1:01pm Chris from DC:

Whoa this Liquid Graveyard is outstanding.
Avatar 1:02pm cee:

go satan go! it's your year after all
Avatar 1:03pm fred:

Another proof that 2016 sucked for me: I haven't seen so few shows in more than 10 years
Avatar 1:09pm Chris from DC:

I think Venom was my favorite set.
Avatar 1:12pm Cecile:

flute tinged witch rock!
Avatar 1:13pm Cecile:

fred, you had a better excuse than most...
Avatar 1:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 1:17pm fred:

@Cecile: No, even accounting for a lost month, I should have seen more. Even without sitting out November, I wouldn't have been anywhere close to 100. I guess I got either lazy or officially old
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Michele:

I like this track a lot
  1:17pm Polyus:

Oh yes, Heron Oblivion way up there for me.
Avatar 1:18pm Chris from DC:

A pretty special record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Cliff in Prague:

Heron Oblivion <3
Avatar 1:19pm Cecile:

I'd count it up to tiredness and world bad 2016 vibes.
Avatar 1:19pm dale:

love this. it's like someone dropped jackie mcshea into a pool of lysergic acid.
Avatar 1:28pm cee:

black mountain huh? who knew. she still sounds great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Cecile - The In Real Life show with Emily & Kimzilla last night was about drag shows. I suggested that Monty Hall should host one at some point. www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 1:33pm cee:

hey go see the mystery lights at babys all right this saturday night
Avatar 1:36pm Cecile:

Ken, OMG. Yes.
  1:38pm miles:

somehow somebody tell me! say it to me ..say it to me
Avatar 1:41pm Cecile:

when Diane Kamikaze gets back to a regular show, I think it would be amazing if she interviewed drag queen Hellvetika. She modeled her look off heavy metal album covers, and is a metalhead true!
Avatar 1:42pm Cecile:

  1:44pm Polyus:

Ha, didn't even know Kool Keith put out a new album in 2016.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Cliff in Prague:

I wonder if Hellvetika listens to Times New Viking
Avatar 1:45pm Chris M.:

special secret prize unlocked: www.facebook.com...
  1:48pm Polycarp55:

speeding thru the ether, I flipped on wfmu, screech the sound of brakes.... as my speed reduced to a station so original that it reminds me of thirty years ago when I listened to the radio with a pen in hand
Avatar 1:49pm fred:

I think my fave new record of 2016 (new, to exclude the wonderful Dust to Digital reissues) was Aesop Rock's The Impossible Kid. I reserve the right to change my mind every minute or so
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Even though I don't have an account on Facebook, I can still see the prize. Thanks, Chris M.
@Cecile - Wowzers!
Avatar 1:56pm Cecile:

I don't know, Cliff, but her full stage name used to be Hellvetika Black.
Avatar 1:57pm Cecile:

guy day job is a graphic designer
Avatar 2:00pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

two hours of meetings commence now. Please kill me.
Or someone start a band called Cooper Black, if we're still on the font thing. I'd buy anything Cooper Black.
Avatar 2:01pm Cecile:

wow, she's good. I just know her from a Proactiv commercial.
Avatar 2:01pm fred:

My favorite live show was Circle. Maybe not the best, but this was such a fun set and remembering their set's finale (to Terminal, aptly) brings back the smile I -- and pretty much everyone around -- had at the time
Avatar 2:01pm Cecile:

me too, rev.
Avatar 2:03pm Chris from DC:

Hellvetika would be a fantastic band name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Cliff in Prague:

Comedic use of Cooper Black: youtu.be...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm µke:

Wow, nice to see that µ-Ziq is still around.
Avatar 2:09pm Cecile:

Chris, I believe there is a not so good band out there with that name.
Avatar 2:14pm geezerette:

"We're Not Detroit !"
Avatar 2:15pm geezerette:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Cliff in Prague:

Bwahaha geezerette, the only upside of living in any other Rust Belt city ;)
Avatar 2:16pm geezerette:

haha,consolation prize!
Avatar 2:17pm Cecile:

hahahah. My friends went down there and said "the exchange rate was very good."
Avatar 2:17pm fred:

Coincidence? Looking up Krakota I found his bandcamp page, which refers to a "chrism" for booking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Cliff in Prague:

Don't know why seeing that written in Cooper Black makes it funnier, but it does
Avatar 2:19pm Chris M.:

@fred: i promise it's not me
Avatar 2:19pm geezerette:

A rust belt would look great on black jeans.
Avatar 2:21pm geezerette:

Cecile,ha! :D
Avatar 2:25pm fred:

It's early, but this music compels me to point out my favorite thing of 2017 so far: Wm. Berger's return to these airwaves
Avatar 2:27pm Cecile:

fred, yes indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Stevel:

fred: Wonderful news.
  2:45pm Marc15:

There is an imaginary Facebook page?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Cliff in Prague:

Oh yeah, glad to see A.M.T. is still around too (the J-band, not the Soviet antidepressant)
Avatar 2:48pm cee:

great show chris!
Avatar 2:48pm Chris from DC:

The Alaric record was very underrated.
  2:48pm Marc15:

Wasn't the Mothman a profit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Cliff in Prague:

Mourn reminds me of the band Discount
Avatar 2:56pm Chris M.:

thanks you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm JP from KC:
