gary lewis and the playboys is one of those bands that probably shouldn't have been as good as they were. but leon russell and wrecking crew musicians make it a no miss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, all. Happy New Year. News reports of the death of Allan Williams, 86. He owned The Jacaranda, a club in Liverpool where the Beatles had some early gigs. RIP
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am dale:

just looking at the track listing for deram dayze - i see two denny laines but no moody blues? they had lot's of great rarely heard b sides
  9:36am Stuart Rose:

I think Dream Dayze is really pricey, isn't it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am dale:

i hate to be a negative nelly, but as many of us are pushing 60 the folks we listened to or watched on the screen who are 10-20 years older will be exiting like crazy.

wow. Danny Kirwan! is he still alive or did he drink himself to death in a London hostel?
  10:33am Jeff:

Every original member of Fleetwood Mac is still alive.
Swag For Life Member 10:34am Walt:

That was in fact Ken Nordine from the advertising record "Flavour Bud in Way Out Sounds from Shirriff." It promoted Shirriff gelatin with candy-like flavor crystals. (The album was distributed to radio stations in Canada hence the "flavour" spelling).

Avatar 10:36am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

No mistaking Nordine...tho' I remember being young & callow enuff I tended to conflate the mysterious voices on the radio: Ken Nordine & Joe Frank were probably the same person...
  10:37am williamfromdumont:

Check out "House of My Sorrow" on side 2 of Lewis & Clark LP. Also non lp single that's really good. Can't recall the title.

10:54am David in ATL from NJ:

Thanks for the extended track, Bob!
  10:58am Listener Robert:

Rabbit, I recall Nordine promoting his shows on some public radio stn., & to me it seemed like he was saying "Val Nordine". I've no idea what he was actually saying that sounded like "Val" -- maybe "'al", as in "in the style of" or "at the place of".
Avatar 10:59am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Like Alice Cooper said - the mystique is gone from personalities - a camera up yer nose all the time...
  11:00am Stuart Rose:

Thanks, Bob, for another year of great music- great range, mixing and matching genius.
Happy new year
