Good Morning!
Avatar 6:10am Sem Chumbo:

Hello and good morning, Carol, Video Booth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11am fred:

Good morning Carol and listeners. I'm glad to hear I will be able to catch a little of your show on Saturdays
Avatar 6:13am CarolCrow:

Good morning VB, Sem & fred! Glad you could join me here today!
Avatar 6:17am CarolCrow:

After this show, I'll be returning to a new slot on the Friday night/Saturday morning after next (Jan 6-7) from 3-6 AM.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23am fred:

I doubt I'll up at 9am on Saturdays, but before noon sounds doable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25am annie:

good morning, all!! i see your new slot will afford me an hour or so at least. that's good.
Avatar 6:26am CarolCrow:

Great thing about FMU is that you can listen to any show anytime on the archive :) But it has been so nice to have you all here in "real time." Thanks so much for hanging with me these past Monday mornings!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28am annie:

i sure wish i knew what tweaked the headphones plug on this laptop. no sound from the speakers unless i plug the headphones in. downright confusing..
Avatar 6:33am Jay/London:

@ annie have you looked at your sound settings .. just saying
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37am annie:

oh,, and happy boxing day!! be sure to treat your household workers with goodies! well, jay, the sound settings are fine; this silent built-in speakers thing is pretty random. i know there's an explanation, but sorting out all the variables is annoying, si i just keep the headphones pluggd in. some day, the little lightbulb will go off above my head and the answer will come. my only theory is the plugging in and unplugging of the hedphones jack is the clue.
Avatar 6:38am CarolCrow:

Good morning annie...Jay! Happy to have you both :)
Avatar 6:46am Jay/London:

@ annie sounds like the connector might be loose inside the computer .. what about plugging ex speakers into the head phone socket or using bluetooth speakers ..... hey nice calm show Carol :) happy boxing day to you all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50am annie:

yes, jay, i do that when i'm home, but i'm pet-sitting, so i have to use the laptop speakers or headphones. someday i may investigate a bluetooth. ....see, now the laptop's speakers are working... very very random. oh, well, first-world problems.
  6:50am M:

Oh, nice transition into live Floyd!!
Avatar 6:54am CarolCrow:

Thanks, M :)
Avatar 6:57am Sem Chumbo:

Oh, boy. Floyd live. Lovely, and always good advice about chopping safely.
Avatar 7:02am CarolCrow:

@ Sem: True...Always good advice :)
Swag For Life Member 7:38am Alfredo Garcia:

i hope the full recordings of the gladtree festival are eventually released...
Avatar 7:42am CarolCrow:

@ Alfredo: Me, too. For right now, we are happy to have Pat's set :)
  7:46am Cooh John:

Good morning all. Slept in since I am off work. Still starting my day the FMU way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Morning!~TZAG! Appreciating.
Avatar 7:50am CarolCrow:

Morning Cooh John & RR 63 :) Glad to have you here for whatever time you can spare :)
Avatar 8:03am Sem Chumbo:

It was somewhere near Barstow, on the edge of the desert...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...best not tell him about the bats...
Avatar 8:10am CarolCrow:

You guys beat me to it! Nice :) :)
Avatar 8:14am Sem Chumbo:

Thompson in an interview said that he had typed great swaths of The Great Gatsby, in order to study the structure of the story, and that the structure of Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas was the result of his study.

Might have been the ether talking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Thompson's relevance is obvious to quantify - but still fascinating & challenging to qualify. (Everyone's a gonzo journalist now, aren't they?) Even his exceptional hijinx would be of little import were he not in the small handful of best & most important Writers of the Time.
Avatar 8:22am Sem Chumbo:

We're on the same bus there, RevRab.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Carol. I was wondering who'd get Stashu's old slot. I hope it doesn't clash too severely with your normal sleep/work/life schedule. Mary Wing said that slot was not for her.
Avatar 8:30am CarolCrow:

@ Ken: I work M-F, so it should work out just great! :)
  8:36am moose:

yay the wee-hours shows the extra-most special
Avatar 8:38am CarolCrow:

Hi moose! Hello to everyone out there! Thank you for listening :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- indeed: outstanding selections I generally wouldn't even know about otherwise - crafted into artful segues & sets. What it's all about right here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41am Ken From Hyde Park:

When the name is "Serious Moonlight Sonatas," it's evident that night time is the right time for it. Heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

GbV - I don't know but band I was in covered one tune - so strange & familiar @ once.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53am Mike East:

Richard Butler's voice is unmistakable. Thanks for playing this track. New to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am annie:

i'll be sure to wake early, carol.
  8:57am dinatekno:

I just heard your show for the 1st time - I love it! I'll be DL'ing archived shows immediately!
  8:59am M:

Avatar 9:03am CarolCrow:

Avatar 9:03am CarolCrow:

Glad you could join us today, dinatekno :)
