hi! happy to be taking this train to outer space!
Avatar 12:03pm Duane:

Hello fellow Travellers..happy to have you aboard!!!
Avatar 12:04pm Jshatan:

Proofreading scientific stuff - depending on you to keep me sharp, Duane!
Avatar 12:04pm kwhitehead:

Love this record. Such a great way to kick off the show.
Avatar 12:05pm Cecile:

great stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Michael 98145:

just like clockwork. the Train is always just in time.
  12:08pm fred:

Hello! Gonna join you but some passengers are missing... Where's Sun Ra?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm Alejandroool:

Space Train!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm JtotheK:

hello duane, hello trainers. belated kudos to BLT for the terrific Loft tribute.
Avatar 12:12pm kwhitehead:

JtothjeK is correct. BLT killed it last week. Don't worry Duane, we were in good hands.
Avatar 12:12pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Now boarding the train! Hey everyone!
Avatar 12:13pm kumar:

meeting cancelled, hopping the train early. Today is a good day.
Avatar 12:14pm kumar:

He's a Superstar has one of my favorite breakdowns ever
Avatar 12:18pm kumar:

Hah. Was just trying to figure out what happened to my left speaker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Passaic River Blues:

I think there should be a campaign to elect Joe Bataan the next governor of New Jersey in 2018.
Avatar 12:22pm Duane:

loose needle cartridges are the death of me, Kumar
Avatar 12:25pm Jshatan:

I just clicky-starred EVERY song so far - on fire doesn't come close to describing this Duaniacal zone we're in!
  12:28pm fred:

oh this one reminds me of BoC remix! !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm alanr:

On one of my many trips to NYC from Cleveland back in the day, I decided to go dancing at Roxy. Just a random weekend night. In the middle of the space, was a platform and out came Colonel Abrams, doing a set, singing over backing tracks. Rest in Peace!
Avatar 12:29pm kumar:

I am just glad it wasn't my left speaker :) I have been having trouble with these speakers lately, sigh. If money grew on trees...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm JtotheK:

wow, never heard about this Roy Ayers "I Can't Go" - it's great.
Avatar 12:38pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Love this cover of Hall and Oates. Way better than the original.
  12:40pm Ari:

Jennique, that's sacrilege!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Passaic River Blues:

That was so, so good.
Avatar 12:44pm Sem Chumbo:

Well back in the caboose since 12, diggin'. Sounds great, Duane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm steve:

Kon managed to remix Ariana Grande into something i actually liked! he's quality.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Kat in Chicago:

H&O probably made a better record but that cover has sass.
Avatar 12:47pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Oops! Didn't mean to dis Hall and Oates! I loved 'em as a kid and had a crush on Daryl Hall, but as the years go by I'm afraid H&O falls into the ear worm category for me, which I have no control over.
  12:50pm Ari:

Haha! It's all good! What can I tell you, I'm a fan (especially the Atlantic albums). Saw them this past Spring and they jammed Can't Go for That for 10min. It was tiiight!
Avatar 12:56pm still b/p:

For me, too, H&O was one of those pop acts that had an endless run of hits and over-exposure and seemed totally oriented toward pop sales formula/machinery, and so arrived in that "enough already!" musical chafing zone. But now I hear their ol' hits and it's mostly fine and fun, which I'm sure they'll be SO relieved to hear.
Avatar 12:57pm Cecile:

they had some weird moments. They worked with Robert Fripp, and had hard rock elements on some of their albums. Daryl Hall recorded a solo album with Fripp called North Star.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm AnAnonymousParty:

I'm a fuckin' guitar player. Is there a spot for me?
Avatar 12:58pm Cecile:

Any machinery was Darryl Hall. He's quite an authoritarian in the studio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm robyn:

Joe Bataan should totally be gov of NJ.
  1:02pm Ari:

Cecile, I think Daryl's Fripp-produced album was "Sacred Songs." "North Star" was on Fripp's "Exposure."
Avatar 1:03pm Cecile:

You are right, Ari. Thank you for the correction.
  1:05pm Ari:

No problem! All good!
Avatar 1:08pm Cecile:

I thought he was singing "sicknesses"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm korrysk:

I second the nomination of Joe Bataan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm Kat in Chicago:

Duane, I started my show with "Wake Up Everybody" (the original) on Monday . Great minds :)
Avatar 1:17pm Duane:

Kat: Oh dope! Great versions either way!
Avatar 1:22pm Cecile:

Did you play this Donny Benet before? It sounds excellent and familiar.
Avatar 1:23pm Duane:

Cecile: Nope first time:) Just came out 2 weeks ago
Avatar 1:25pm Cecile:

It reminds me of a track from a while back called I think Salsa Lessons?
Avatar 1:26pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@still b/p - Yes! Well said.
I am imagining a bunch of people in a room in the sound studio making popping noises with their mouths.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm robyn:

so enjoying this set. same telephone ring as that 49ers song you played a few years ago i still go back to
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm alan from sacto:

what a great song
Avatar 1:35pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

This song is AWESOME
Avatar 1:35pm Cecile:

I love it when the little dramas play out on house tracks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Kat in Chicago:

Loving these remixes and edits today.
Avatar 1:37pm still b/p:

That phone ring sounds maybe like an old rotary dial phone. I had a WTF!? wake-up moment one recent morning, after I'd left a rotary phone hooked up temporarily because it's closer to my computer when I needed to be on both at once. Then someone called me early...and that ring, loud, startling, nostalgia-triggering and funny all at once. Thought first it was on clock-radio, not actually in my house.
Avatar 1:37pm MenfussMike:

this is hilarious. she sounds creepy as fuck
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm AnAnonymousParty:

She deserves everything she gets because she doesn't know what kind of car she drive beyond it just being blue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Passaic River Blues:

Haven't heard Instinct since the Bush Administration. NICE ONE, MR. SELECTOR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm crateslinger:

I think she sounds hot. This dude has just got it goin on cuz all the girls love him.
Avatar 1:39pm Cecile:

Oh! Do you have that one Armando track "Don't Take It?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm AnAnonymousParty:

  1:45pm joel:

  1:45pm Box:

Ow. Quit it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Carmichael:

Heya Duane and trainspotters. You played Joe Tex! Just talking about him last night over a few barley pops.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Kat in Chicago:

@Cecile "Don't Take It" is so good. All hail Sharvette!
Avatar 1:50pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

  1:56pm Scott:

Great mix! Digging this stretch
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm steve:

love it... thank you Duane!
Avatar 2:00pm Cecile:

Is this new? Old? I must know about this Son of Sound.
  2:01pm Scott:

Do you have 1 more Colonel track in ya?
Avatar 2:01pm Cecile:

Duane, I know you have great premium ideas, but maybe one would be to make one of all these great house/techno tracks that have radio soap operas in the middle.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm steve:

omg +1 Cecile
Avatar 2:03pm Cecile:

I'll make a cover, even.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm AnAnonymousParty:

Would you call it "Locked in the DJ booth"?
Avatar 2:03pm Duane:

Its pretty new Cecile. He played a guest set on the Duane Train last year (Henry Maldonado aka House 2 House)..
Cecile: Not a bad idea:
Avatar 2:04pm Cecile:

that would be an awesome title, AAP.
Avatar 2:04pm Cecile:

I have to look that one up, Duane.
  2:05pm steve:

lol AAP!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Michael 98145:

great set !!
  2:12pm Marc15:

My love grew cold because my ex-boyfriend literally abandoned me
Avatar 2:13pm Cecile:

Duane, I'm doing a lot of strange word collages and putting them on Instagram and Facebook. I know I could come up with a good one.
  2:14pm JakeGould:

If you can't hold a feeling, just go to the bathroom. Geez.
Avatar 2:14pm Cecile:

Marc, I am sorry.
Avatar 2:16pm Cecile:

Or you have to recreate the whole song.
Avatar 2:17pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

OMG Duane, slow-talking sister singing! Yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm AnAnonymousParty:

That kind of vocal mannerism is known as 'Valium Girl'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Michael 98145:

* totally *
Avatar 2:18pm Cecile:

Or you can have her do a Sharvette voice. "This is Deah"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm AnAnonymousParty:

Nooo, toooootallllllly
  2:19pm Scott:

Duane, you just made my day! RIP to the man
  2:20pm Marc15:

Thank you, Cecile
Avatar 2:21pm Cecile:

I never thought of this, but CA is taking the D-Train style to another level
Avatar 2:23pm Cecile:

you're welcome. Always awful when that happens.
Avatar 2:26pm Cecile:

Caron Wheeler!
Avatar 2:35pm Cecile:

  2:40pm Ari:

Now we're getting to my vibes ;-) Both Niteflyte records are sweet. Nice call, Duane!
Avatar 2:44pm Cecile:

  2:58pm Ari:

Did it again, Duane. Thank you.
