Good day, Liz Berg et al.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Liz Berg:

Afternoon, all! Welcome!
  12:07pm JakeGould:

Hey Liz!
Avatar 12:13pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Hello Liz and lizzners!
  12:13pm Listener142985:

Another appointment-radio-worthy opening set. You make this seem too easy, Ms. B.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Liz Berg:

Great to have you guys here with me on this dark and stormy afternoon. Some rainy music first, and then the pace picks up...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Bronwyn Bishop:

hey liz, hey everybody!
  12:26pm JakeGould:

Hey Bronwyn!
  12:26pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Howdy... Liz RainBerg!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Liz Berg:

Oh, I forgot to wish you all a happy Giving Tuesday. Love how the donation guilt clocks in immediately following two big days of retail gluttony, heh.
  12:35pm Polyus:

Today is the big work potluck, I.e. I gave at the office.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Tome:

I'm liking this Goood Afternoon !
Avatar 12:37pm Howard F:

Does buying someone lunch at work count as giving? A little late to this holiday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm Liz Berg:

I believe the idea is to give money to causes for social good (ie. nonprofits, charities, etc).
Avatar 12:46pm βrian:

And then those non-profits pay your mortgage, right? If you're smart, that is ...

(Morality tinged with orange.)
  12:59pm JakeGould:

Can't wait "Whatever Wednesday." As maybe "Fuck It Friday."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Liz Berg:

Those are some holidays I can get behind, @Jake!
Avatar 1:05pm KP:

Quite enjoyable, Liz
  1:06pm Cliff in Prague:

I think WFMU needs to institute Theremin Thursday as an official holiday
  1:06pm JakeGould:

How about "Take a Hike Thursday" as well and maybe "Sob Story Saturday."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Mark the Sardine:

Weed Whacker Wednesday. everyone could buy a weed whacker that day.
  1:12pm JakeGould:

Here is my list of special days:

• Move Along Monday
• Giving Tuesday
• Whatever Wednesday
• Take a Hike Thursday

Compassion-fatigue Friday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm listener_fern:

Liz, Great set for a horribly rainy day. You're making it so much better.
Avatar 1:18pm βrian:

Well, then: Sun-dried tomato Sunday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Ken From Hyde Park:

  1:19pm melinda:

Igor: There min!"
  1:23pm JakeGould:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Liz Berg:

Ha ha, I'm loving all of these great ideas! We can turn around this retail holiday nonsense by next year.

Avatar 1:38pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

As kids we used to say Sure Happy It's Thursday! We'd find any excuse to get a curse word in there. Cee U Next Tuesday was years away but a revelation when I heard it.
Avatar 1:40pm βrian:

My I see 'u' in text messages, I read it as "uh."
Avatar 1:44pm Mister Dobalina:

Beautiful day in nYc, Berg is spinning some cool music, feet are up & the flask is cracked open, who says day-time drinking is a bad thing.
Avatar 1:45pm βrian:

J'adore La Femme.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm steveo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm steveo:

Some study reveals that the correct question is "Laquelle?" Sorry about that.

In better news, this show is warming my heart's cockles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Mark the Sardine:

Meh Monday
Tsuh Tuesday
Why Wednesday
That's... Thursday
Ffffff Friday

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Michael 98145:

*Candida Royalle* sounds dangerous
  2:02pm melinda:

Missed the TV Girl, darn. They have a great song that samples part of B Dylan's Sign on a Window.
  2:02pm trouble:

give it up to fmu tuesday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I was going to post a list with the names of Drumpf and his family, but I decided they've ruined this country enough already. No need to defile a fine Triumphant Tuesday playlist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Michael 98145:

agreed. @Ken
  2:05pm JakeGould:

Wait! Great idea! "WFMU Prevents..."
Avatar 2:06pm βrian:

"If 6 were 9," I would hope!
  2:08pm Cliff in Prague:

I want to hear a show full of WFMU DJs preventing things
  2:08pm JakeGould:

"Seven Eight... Nein!"
Avatar 2:09pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

The song 3 is the Magic Number makes me tear up to this day. Oh and the Blossom Dearie version of Figure 8.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Bronwyn Bishop:

i used to watch multiplication rock like every day. figure 8 is my mom's favorite and 3 is the magic number is my dad's. but my favorite is little twelvetoes, which I even dug up to play in my first wfmu show!
Avatar 2:11pm Chris M.:

reminds me a bit more of leather nun or foetus than depeche mode fortunately :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Ken From Hyde Park:

No popular song like the Edmund Fitzgerald, but still interesting tale of the Daniel J. Morrell, downed fifty years ago today. www.inforum.com...
Avatar 2:15pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@Bronwyn - OMG I forgot about that one! That little 12 toes guy looked like the Hamburgler or something, right? Man, falling down a rabbit hole of nostalgia.
  2:15pm melinda:

I watched schoolhouse rock but somehow missed 3 is the magic number, first heard the De La Soul version.
Avatar 2:16pm βrian:

Yes, De La Soul for me, as well. Funny, that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Yeah, it used to scare the crap out of me when I was little and I'd skip it on the vhs tape, but now that I'm old I love it. It's a genuinely great song...
  2:17pm JakeGould:

Anyone remember that opera singing orange in a kitchen? Freaks me out.
Avatar 2:18pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@Bronwyn - of course I had to go over to Youtube and rewatch it. Some commented, "hello little twelve toes. my name is Inego Montoya, you killed my father prepare to die"
  2:20pm mark r:

"Sepulchral" is one of those words that's a sobriety test. If you can't say it, you're not necessarily drunk, but if you can, you're definitely sober.
  2:21pm melinda:

Jake, yes! I loved the orange. It was a number from Carmen.
  2:22pm Waiting for Brian:

  2:23pm JakeGould:

That orange freaks me out. The eyelashes. No.
Avatar 2:23pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Avatar 2:23pm Chris from DC:

I might test that "sepulchral" thing at the office holiday party.
Avatar 2:23pm Chris from DC:

Also, De La Soul!
Avatar 2:23pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Thank you LIZ!!! Liz is the magic dubber!!!
  2:23pm melinda:

Magic Number!
  2:25pm Waiting for Brian:

I just turned off the player
  2:26pm Cliff in Prague:

De La Soulday
Avatar 2:26pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Didn't realize that Johnny Cash was sampled in this for a long time afterward.
  2:27pm melinda:

I didn't figure out that it was Johnny Cash either, until a few years ago.
  2:29pm mark r:

Chris, if you can say "sepulchral," you're the designated driver.
Avatar 2:30pm Chris from DC:

Mark, deal.
  2:39pm mark r:

Ow, my wrist is gettin' sore from playin' this high hat.
  2:40pm Polyus:

They have machines to do that.
  2:48pm mark r:

Great, another American worker displaced.
  2:48pm mark r:

Don't blame China, blame the drum machines.
  2:51pm mark r:

Methinks thou art a space witch. We shall throw you into space, if you orbit the earth and land safely, thou art a witch and we shall burn thee. If thou suffocates from lack of oxygen in space, thy shall pray for thine eternal soul that thou might be admitted into heaven.
  2:52pm Cliff in Prague:

Not to be confused with Angel Witch
  2:57pm Cliff in Prague:

...thanks Liz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Liz Berg:

Thanks to all of you space witches and supernauts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Michael 98145:

thank you again, DJ Liz
