![]() @Adrian in London I will indeed! I also bought this CD for my dad + he adores it. |

![]() @Rob I think you'll like them. They were Veronique Sanson's first band.Sort of like the Swingle Singers via Stereolab. (Not really but, y'know…) |

![]() |
![]() ![]() here are some other versions: www.originals.be... I'm afraid is in Dutch, but the 5th edition of Arnold 'mister originals' Rypens book The originals is in English. It's a treat for every music lover |

![]() |
![]() ![]() and the nichelle nichols - didn't know that version until you mentioned it, i gotta find that 45! |
![]() |
![]() Oh, of course, it's Dom la Nena. She's lovely, again another great live show. In London she insisted the audience get up and dance. Cue the Latin Americans throwing amazing fluid moves with gay abandon while we pasty English types shuffled self-consciously. |
Fri. 11/25/16 4:26pm
Bob:
Sheila, I love your show, always. There is a great version of "Why don't you do right" by Johnny Otis that came out in the 80s. The thing that makes it great is it is a duet with a man and woman yelling (singing) back and forth at each other to do right (and get me some money). I think you would really enjoy it. I do.
![]() |
![]() Thanks @Bob! I haven't heard an 80s version. I shall look it up for sure! |
Fri. 11/25/16 4:29pm

My warped records fix. get two pieces of plate glass, thick like table glass. but records between and put in oven at lowest setting for like 30 minutes. works like a charm.
![]() |
![]() ![]() I have 7 C90-casettes with the song Summertime, and you can easily play them after each other! When there's ONE song with SO many covers in SO many styles, it's that song. |

![]() Vinyl in the oven?!!! That sounds terrifying @Frank from Santa Cruz. |

![]() |
![]() ![]() @Jake: That's the only Duran Duran single I have: Save a prayer |
![]() |
![]() ![]() The funniest thing ever would be to pull things out of the oven and finding two pieces of warped plate glass. |
![]() |
![]() I don't like Duran Duran Duran Duran, but Save a Prayer is a great song. The way it goes a bit higher on the end of the chorus/hook is amazing |

Hello, Great show! I like you, thought I would at some other time see Sharon Jones. On the topic of writing, I try to start the day (best time of day for me) with writing prompts. You can sign up for some online. I found a book of writing prompts at Barnes and Noble, just the handling of the book, pen in hand, helps me get inspired. Hope this helps.
