Hey everyone, I feel like 1000 years has passed since last Tues.

Yes, it does seem like a new millennium, Liz. Hi, and hello, Bergers.
Peter in Seattle:

1000 yrs into the past!

Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Liz and associates. I used to enjoy thinking about the future. Not so much lately.

Sorry I was gone. Huge spontaneous student walkout from one of the schools near Union Square. Just blocked off 5th Avenue and you could hear them 9 floors up. Anyway I gotta get lunch and maybe shout with others in a group in public!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm
Liz Berg:

Shout it out, Jake!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

@Jake - Take care. Post some Instagrams if you can.

This Lattimore is really beautiful.

I love this band name...and album title :)

Greetings Liz and fellow Lizzners! Anyone see the movie Arrival this weekend? Interesting take on time (while on the subject of 1000 years).

"time is right for violent revolution"

Avatar 12:40pm
Sem Chumbo:

Bunch of art school wankers, poseurs, re: revolution.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm

Sem, yeah - just as the 99%ers...but a few of them...
Avatar 12:44pm

Hi Liz and fellow mourners. Bernie Sanders has a book out and is giving kick-ass interviews. What's happened is horrible but it's got to be dealt with. Grieve, but please don't check out.
Avatar 12:45pm

Love this music!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm

Jake: If you're in the mood, remind them to take each other's names and numbers so they can organize down the road. I'm all for protesting and letting voices be heard, but they'll want to follow that up with actions. [stepping off of soapbox]

hey there g! -and regarding checking out...Michael Moore, via MD...
"Morning After To-Do List:
1. Take over the Democratic Party and return it to the people. They have failed us miserably.
2. Fire all pundits, predictors, pollsters and anyone else in the media who had a narrative they wouldn't let go of and refused to listen to or acknowledge what was really going on. Those same bloviators will now tell us we must "heal the divide" and "come together." They will pull more hooey like that out of their ass in the days to come. Turn them off.
3. Any Democratic member of Congress who didn't wake up this morning ready to fight, resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for eight full years must step out of the way and let those of us who know the score lead the way in stopping the meanness and the madness that's about to begin.
4. Everyone must stop saying they are "stunned" and "shocked". What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren't paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all "You're fired!" Trump's victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him. He is both a creature and a creation of the media and the media will never own that.
5. You must say this sentence to everyone you meet today: "HILLARY CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE!" The MAJORITY of our fellow Americans preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Period. Fact. If you woke up this morning thinking you live in an effed-up country, you don't. The majority of your fellow Americans wanted Hillary, not Trump. The only reason he's president is because of an arcane, insane 18th-century idea called the Electoral College. Until we change that, we'll continue to have presidents we didn't elect and didn't want. You live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there's climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don't want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care system. None of that has changed. We live in a country where the majority agree with the "liberal" position. We just lack the liberal leadership to make that happen (see: #1 above)."
Avatar 12:58pm

I think it's "palace revolution", not "violent revolution".

There should be lyrics for "Street Fighting Man" somewhere on the web.
Avatar 1:01pm

Lots of FMA. Is it reporting time again? :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm

well Tony R, according to wikipedia you are correct.

Liz Berg:

I hope this dark situation makes us remember not to take the things we love for granted. We need to stick together and make sure to preserve the good things.

@SteveL: It was a walk out by students at one of the many schools in Union Square. I'm pretty sure they all know how to organize ad use social media better than all of us. And besides the point, there are protests every day. Nobody is fragmented.
Avatar 1:25pm

Liz, that's beautiful and true.

Shana Falana is playing here in a couple of weeks with some pals of mine. It is going to be a night of bands all sound pretty much like this, all mellow and dreamy.

Re protest- Bernie Sanders to be on Brian Lehrer show tomorrow 10am. He was in NYC last night so maybe he at studio tom'w. Studio at municipal bldg near Bklyn bridge? Maybe people can congregate there. (Maybe not)

re Leonard Cohen mentions, I'm gonna garble some quote about his singing- "other people can't sing Leonard Cohen songs as badly as he can't sing them".

Wendy is a cutie, Kirk!

@coelacanth- FB says Mose Allison is now in yr list. Plus someone named David Mancuso (who?).

Oh shit, Mose and Mancuso are dead, too? Jesus, it's like a tidal wave of death. Maybe Duane will air another tribute broadcast featuring Loft/LStD favorites.
