  5:12pm Stuart:

The first time I heard "I am the Cosmos", the original version, was on WFMU when I was really sick and in the hospital. I was so sick, I thought I was hallucinating that after singing "I really want to see you again" over and over, Chris Bell then sang "I never want to see you again". It wasn't until much later that I realized it was no hallucination. The Posies' version does Chris Bell amazingly well. Thanks for playing it.
  5:12pm phillip in the bronx:

faye? can we ask what are you going as for Halloween
Avatar 5:13pm geezerette:

Right you are,Fleep!

coel, it's been almost seven years since water fell from the sky over lotus land.
Avatar 5:15pm coelacanth:

Holy Schlitz, g! i knew it was a drought but did not know THAT!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm soup and fog:

i love this cover!!!
Avatar 5:16pm geezerette:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm Faye:

oh lovely story Stuart!! yes great cover indeed.
Avatar 5:17pm coelacanth:

oh, there are still plants?
Avatar 5:19pm geezerette:

Avatar 5:19pm geezerette:

this is such a great record!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm mariano:

So Cow, nice to hear them again! They did a great live set a couple of years back at FMU.
  5:24pm JakeGhould:

Spooky greetings, children!
Avatar 5:24pm coelacanth:

g that's seriously wonderful. (the rain)
Avatar 5:25pm geezerette:

Avatar 5:26pm geezerette:

God I love Ian Dury!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm soup and fog:

this set has been really cheering
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...being Cali. & their infrastructure the common thing would be flood...mucky mudslides...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Isn't Ian beautiful. Ah.
Avatar 5:28pm geezerette:

We have mud season, flood season and fire season.
Avatar 5:30pm coelacanth:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Tremors. They're special.
Avatar 5:31pm geezerette:

  5:41pm Mart:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Faye:

hahaha ok coelecanth. NO PROBLEM
Avatar 5:44pm katie:

I've been looking forward to your 45 show all week!
Avatar 5:47pm listener mark:

While I have often felt like steamed dumplings, I have never felt like Scott Williams.
  5:50pm ScottC:

I knew that was a Bruce Loose broken speaker bass line the second I heard it!
Avatar 5:51pm listener mark:

Drinking game, every time Faye says,"7 inch" take a sip. Starting my third bottle of beer next break.
  6:02pm JakeGhould:

Did the old lady died?
  6:04pm JakeGhould:

And kudos to the DJs for having to flip singles for 3 hours. That's stamina!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm mariano:

God I can't hear this song without thinking of Malcolm McDowell's kick-kick accentuations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...oh...I can - but there's that...
  6:06pm JakeGhould:

I hate Stanley Kubrick's work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  6:08pm JakeGhould:

I like Halloween.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm mariano:

I think Gene Kelly was pretty unhappy with the way the song was used in Clockwork. It's certainly one of the most disturbing scenes ever filmed, I really admire Adrienne Corri's courage in enduring the number of takes involved in filming it.
  6:09pm melinda:

@Jake: haha. I'm neutral but I sort of like that you hate his work
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...we can pin yer eyes open & condition you to like them...how are you w/ Beethoven?...
  6:11pm JakeGhould:

@RevRabbit: Exactly!
  6:14pm JakeGhould:

Unrest! Yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm mariano:

Ah, this is where my new speakers and headphones shine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

When I was about (a suggestible) 10 - '2001' struck something deep in me - part awe & part disturbance. Kubrick's not pure Entertainment - they're like relevant Novels...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm justinline:

Oh wow love Unrest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm mariano:

What a nice and seamless segue from Royal Headache to Kendra Smith!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm mariano:

@Rev Rabbit: same here. I was a hyperactive kid, but something about 2001 just shut me up and stopped me, even when my folks took me with them to see it in the theater some time in the early-mid 70s.
  6:25pm JakeGhould:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...sharing a pic on fb of Ringo & a cartoon Ringo JackO'Lattern right as that 'TomorrowNever Knows' drum hit...
Avatar 6:32pm geezerette:

that's one of the all time rock intros. Ringo has such taste. And "Caveman" is hilarious. :)
Avatar 6:34pm geezerette:

ghost of eartha...:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm mariano:

Thanks, I thought I was the only one whose bottom lip quivered at that Sundays song! One of my all-time voice-crushes...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Gaylord Fields:

Yes, Faye, I will be playing 45s — but no pseudo-Postcard singles, or even real ones, for that matter. And yes, Faye, Sunday is such fun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Ken From Haunted Hyde Park:

From the desk of Why Didn't I Think Of This Sooner?:
Hello Children of the Grave
Hello Lost Children of the Sea
Hello Children of the Corn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm mariano:

Look out -- the sun is turning black!!!
  6:55pm JakeGhould:

Since Faye just played a Misfits cover might I suggest: "Hello Children in Heat"

But that sounds too icky so hey. Bad idea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If anyone here knows a good youtube example of how to properly peel a pomegranate, I'd appreciate a link. I'm just kind of hacking at the fruit haphazardly.
Avatar 7:00pm JakeGhould:

@Ken: Here you go! “In just over 2 minutes, you can completely de-seed a pomegranate and have fun doing it!” www.youtube.com...
Avatar 7:02pm JakeGhould:

@Ken: Also, that video has the most pomegranate smacking I have ever seen in my life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@JakeGhould - Great, thanks. A lot of violent pomegranate paddling, for sure.
Avatar 7:05pm JakeGhould:

Full disclosure: I also hate pomegranates.
Avatar 7:07pm yddo:

I avoided pomegranates until learning about whacking them to get the seeds out. Now, I still avoid them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm mariano:

I love how in French the word for pomegranate is grenade. Matter of fact, I think the word grenade for the weapon comes from the fruit, which makes sense.
Avatar 7:10pm JakeGhould:

Makes sense, since much like a grenade, I don’t want a pomegranate anywhere near me.
Avatar 7:11pm listener mark:

Thanks Faye! Six beers in under two hours, I've got to go horizontal. Great show! See you on the astral plane!
Avatar 7:12pm JakeGhould:

If there is a Pomegranate festival featuring the works of Stanley Kubrick, count me out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm mariano:

The Kubrick Pomegranate Festival, love it!
Avatar 7:15pm JakeGhould:

I’d rather spend my money at the Pineapple festival featuring the works of Robert Bresson. Or the Apple pie festival featuring the works of Walter Hill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Let's see if I have this straight:
Werewolf - wolfsbane
Dracula - garlic
Frankenstein's monster - fire
JakeGhoud - pomegranate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Dr. Strangefruit - or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying & Love the Plum...Lemonlita...FullMetalJackfruit...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...The Skinning...
Avatar 7:19pm JakeGhould:

I like apples, blueberries and such.
  7:21pm famous original nastywolf:

Hello from work...

I missed Rita pavone and unrest? :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm Linda Lee:

good evening! thoroughly love the show tonight! thank you Faye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm chris_in_space:

Ugh, I can't handle how good this show is.
  7:22pm famous original nastywolf:

If only there was a way I could listen to this show later...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm mariano:

Now that's just crazy talk!
Avatar 7:26pm JakeGhould:

It’s like Famous Original Nastywolf is talking about something from a Phillip K. Dick story.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Linda Lee:

one knows one is spending too much time on social media when one looks for the 'like' button in personal conversations ..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm Linda Lee:

take that, William Gibson!
Avatar 7:45pm geezerette:

Androids dream of avatars.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm mariano:

Well, somebody certainly knows how to close out a show on a high note!
Avatar 7:50pm geezerette:

Faye, thanks for all the treats. Happy All Hallow's Eve to...All.
Avatar 7:51pm other david:

Thanks for the great show Faye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Faye:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, Faye. May your Halloween be filled with or devoid of pomegranates, whichever suits your taste.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm mariano:

Reminds me of the Spinanes, this song... miss them. Thanks Faye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Linda Lee:

good one geezerette! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm Linda Lee:

Happy All Soul's & Samhain to all! the veil is thin .. beware of who steps through! ;-)
Avatar 8:19pm coelacanth:

(belated) Thank you Faye.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm Power Papi:

"Trains" is a perfect pop song...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am Cooh John:

Fab show as always featuring Hammerheads, Blockheads, pomegranates, and Kubrick music and references. Just saw "2001: A Space Odyssey" last week on the silver screen.
