Guten Morgen Marty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03am pantz:

Wie gehts, McSorley?
Avatar 9:13am Chris from DC:

Now I want to go back and listen to the Big Boys version of Hollywood Swinging.
Avatar 9:13am PKNY:

G'TZAG, Marty and everybody! It's funny, it says 'The "New York" Sound' on that Kool & the Gang 45, when they were straight outta Newark.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am Bronwyn Bishop:

Good morning Marty and everyone. Lovin these funky singles
Avatar 9:18am Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Marty, and McSorley's. Mixin' it up real good!
  9:23am JakeGould:

Hawkwind!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am Guido from Cologne:

Lemmy!
Avatar 9:24am Cheri Pi:

they had a 45???
Avatar 9:25am PKNY:

"Silver Machine" was a big hit in England, if I remember correctly. I even think Hawkwind were on Top of the Pops.
Avatar 9:26am PKNY:

Is Lemmy of that 45 sleeve?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am Ken From Hyde Park:

Good Friday morning! This song is why I drive a silver automobile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am Guido from Cologne:

good quesetion PKNY!
I asked that myself (iit is the German pressing).
Could be the company used a dated photo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am Bronwyn Bishop:

I've loved this song since I was a kid
Avatar 9:41am Sem Chumbo:

hahaha Mrs. Miller.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am Bronwyn Bishop:

Always love to hear my homie Mrs. Miller. I played this very song on my radio show in college and apparently ruined a romantic moment between two of my friends (I'd been playing some nice romantic tunes that they were getting steamy listening to, and then this...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am ausmanx:

if you're up for Mrs Miller, i figure you're gonna dig out Russ Abbot again tonight, huh, Marty?
Avatar 9:43am Sem Chumbo:

...especially the whistling interlude, BB.
  9:44am ?:

Got any more info about Rec. & Lime?
Avatar 9:44am Chris from DC:

This is very cool at 33.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Bronwyn Bishop:

I love 45s at 33, especially Dolly Parton's Jolene. They just sound so mysterious and great...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Stevel:

Stevie Nicks without cocaine?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Polyus:

It wouldn't be Halloween without a witch.
  9:47am JakeGould:

Stevie Nicks on qaaludes.
Avatar 9:51am PKNY:

The classic '45 on 33'- the Winstons' "Amen Brother", at least the breakbeat portion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Ken From Hyde Park:

Has anyone taken a Metallica or Megadeth 45 and slowed it down? Would it still sound faster than the typical record?
  9:53am Georgesimian:

Sounds like that's happening now. Speed that shit up.
Avatar 9:53am PKNY:

@Ken - I know that at least in Europe, Metallica had released a 2xLP version of "Master of Puppets" in the 80s that played at 45 RPM. So you could listed to the whole record molasses style!
  9:53am Jeffy Jazz:

Wow, I didn't know Michael McDonald did a cover of this.
  9:53am DJ_Guy:

This is my shit thank you
  9:54am Jeffy Jazz:

Singles Going Steady... @ 33 1/3!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Fuzzy:

Slowing it down seems to enhance the reverb somehow.
Avatar 9:55am Marty McSorley:

(i always throw more reverb on it when i slow um down, makes um more epic)
  9:55am Jeffy Jazz:

That Neil Diamond tune sounds creepy at any speed.
Avatar 9:55am PKNY:

The one bad thing with the '45 at 33' thing: if it's a song you really don't like, it takes that much longer for it to finish.
Avatar 9:57am PKNY:

What, no Above the Law on 45?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Ike:

Tiresome reminiscing alert: Back in the early-to-mid-90s, Diane Kamikaze was the queen of 45s at 33 for a while. It was a regular feature on her show. One a week. I don't remember any other DJs doing it then (except Ken sometimes).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03am Fuzzy:

Killer bass line.
  10:05am ?:

Thx for the update on Rec. & Lime. Super cool track. Great lyrics. Good find!
  10:05am Stuart:

When I was a college radio DJ back in the early-mid 1970s, I mistakenly played a 45 of "10th Avenue Freezeout" at 33rpm, and it was amazing. Bruce never sounded so Stax, and I was never a Bruce fan (still am not), and the program director gave me grief.
Avatar 10:07am PKNY:

Surprised you did give the 33 treatment to "Jungle Fever".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am Barney Grubbs:

Used to have a portable record player that went down to 17 rpm--made the garage sale CCR record that somehow got left on it sound like the melvins
  10:17am Wilson:

Marty McSorley DJ'd my wedding. It's true. And now he's initiating my transition to the weekend quite smoothly...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Greg from ZONE 5:

Morning, gang!
  10:29am DaveinPA:

great show - thanks for posting the label pics, btw!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am pantz:

Now why wouldn't you play this as your bed music? Isn't your normal song Black Superman too?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am Polyus:

Damn, I haven't heard this Muhammad Ali song since I was a little kid. We had it on some K-Tel compilation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am MD:

I am a bit late this morning to the marty party...hope all is well wit all!
  10:41am Mike tp:

A guy on the njtpike nickname was head of LITTLE Beaver after the midget wrestler
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am pantz:

Now I'm hungry for red beans and rice. Is it lunchtime yet?
  10:45am Brendan:

Aw hell yea git it on git it on git it on
  10:45am Brendan:

Hey Marty and gang
Avatar 10:51am Marty McSorley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am pantz:

Wish I could afford more, Marty.
Avatar 11:00am FMthatguy:

Hey who was that "More Wood For The Fire" song by?
Avatar 11:02am Marty McSorley:

Jackie Opel
Avatar 11:06am FMthatguy:

Awwwesome, thank you.
Avatar 11:06am FMthatguy:

Marty I'm gonna donate to the Station; I just gotta figure out how much spare money I got layin' around.
  11:07am JakeGould:

Avatar 11:09am cee:

Avatar 11:16am Cecile:

I gave something. Split it up between 5 shows.
Avatar 11:18am FMthatguy:

That's what Imma do. I got about seven shows I like.
  11:24am mark r:

I can't hear this song without thinking of that scene in "Reservoir Dogs" where he cuts the guy's ear off.
Swag For Life Member 11:24am nodice:

More Reservoir Dogs tracks? Nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Stevel:

mark r: Yup. Changed forever.

How many RD tracks is this for the show? I caught Little Green Bag (and Girl, You'll be a Woman from Pulp Fiction.)
Avatar 11:25am FMthatguy:

Oh I love this son.
Avatar 11:26am Wild Neil:

PEACE all. Still looking for a mechanical engineering position.
  11:26am trouble:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am Stevel:

Any attempt to deconstruct the Eagles is appreciated by me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am Stevel:

...Eagles or parts thereof.
  11:30am Wilson:

This cover/remix was sorely needed... McSorely needed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Barney Grubbs:

but thaaaat's my life
Avatar 11:36am Cheri Pi:

You have to have a thick skin to be Neil Hamburger
Avatar 11:37am Cecile:

Yes, a very thick skin. One that's not bruised easily by the truth.
Avatar 11:37am Wild Neil:

Neil Hamburger is "funny". I tried to like it but he is just too meta for me.
Avatar 11:38am Cecile:

Oh, I agree.
Avatar 11:38am FMthatguy:

Lol this stand up is so bad it's good XD
Avatar 11:39am northguineahills:

anti-humor at it's finest, that's the appeal!
Avatar 11:39am Cecile:

I like Zach Galifinakis better for that.
  11:41am JakeGould:

This improves the Rentals by 200%.
Avatar 11:41am Cecile:

I also hate this song and appreciate it slowed down
Avatar 11:42am Cecile:

this was like a mainstream #1 hit in Mpls back in the day. So annoying.
Avatar 11:43am this guy:

yea, this is good. dont even know the original. kinda a good thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am upsetter5001:

Kewl, KARP!
Avatar 11:47am this guy:

and karp is just straight good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am Barney Grubbs:

now I'm trying to imagine how chipmunky KARP would be at 78 rpm, but I don't imagine you want any of these records to be over any sooner than they already are
Avatar 11:49am Chris from DC:

Time for the bahn mi truck. Great show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am SeanG:
