Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm chris:

what also floats in water? hi, Chris M, all yous
Avatar 12:11pm coelacanth:

not just in salem; and "we" still do, essentially.
Avatar 12:12pm βrian:

Gluten rules!
Avatar 12:13pm Marcel M:

I'm scared.
Avatar 12:15pm still b/p:

Nobody wuz burned in Salem, though. They just be hungified, and one pressed to death, "peine forte et dure."
  12:17pm TimBk:

Song in Wicker Man sung by Britt Eckland tantalizing poor Edward Woodward?
Avatar 12:18pm Chris M.:

@TimBk: exactly
Avatar 12:26pm Cecile:

Do you have Horror Show Style by Flow Dan?
  12:26pm TimBk:

Great movie, but the Nicholas Cage version is much better.... kidding. Did anyone see that or sit through it?
  12:29pm Brendan:

The occult band named Coven (One Tin Soldier) sounds like they might be scary but nah... and they have some interesting song titles including 'Black Sabath' and get this - their bass player was named Oz Osborne.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm common:

well, this is great! hey chris
Avatar 12:29pm Chris M.:

@Cecile: i left it in my other pants
Avatar 12:30pm Cecile:

that's cool, Chris.

Didn't Coven do a satanic mass record?
Avatar 12:31pm Chris M.:

thanks common!
Avatar 12:32pm Polyus:

Coven are going to be playing Roadburn 2017.
Avatar 12:32pm Chris M.:

1 - what are everyone's favorite horror movies?
2 - what is your halloween costume this year?
3 - everyone who donated to this show is cool as hell.
4 - if you haven't already, PLEASE PLEDGE NOW!!
Avatar 12:32pm coelacanth:

still b/p, i've read that too. maybe i should've inserted "executed" in there somewhere, so as not to assume burning as factual.
Avatar 12:38pm Cecile:

Poly, that seems kind of awful considering how many awesome bands are out there.
  12:40pm SEEMA:

i love you wfmu, never stop runnin <3
Avatar 12:42pm Polyus:

@Cecile - I thought it was kind of odd as well. They did put together a really good lineup otherwise. We may actually have a group going, airfare is really cheap right now.
Avatar 12:42pm Cecile:

1. Shaun of the Dead.
2. Ms. Scarlet from Clue
Avatar 12:43pm Cecile:

Yeah, John Baizley from Baroness is the curator this year.
Avatar 12:44pm Polyus:

Lots of bands this time that don't seem to tour over here - Aluk Todolo and Gnod, among others.
Avatar 12:45pm Cecile:

what's the best site to find cheap airfare? My travel dollars will hopefully be spent going to Bermuda to visit a friend.
Avatar 12:45pm Cecile:

Got Khanate?
Avatar 12:46pm Polyus:

We were just looking on Kayak, though there may be better sites out there, But you could go MSP - Amsterdam for $530-550.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm common:

good idea, cecile! skin coat
  12:52pm at this point:

i switch off.,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Ike:

Greetings, ghouls, goblins, gobshites, and Gunthers.
Avatar 2:03pm Sem Chumbo:

Gobshites! Careful, those my people.
  2:05pm Mr. Gobshites:

Did somebody call my name?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Rich in Washington:

Spooky show! Loving it!
  2:07pm P-90:

Spooky indeed. Happy Hallo-week, DJ Chris M and Imaginoids!
  2:08pm Bob:

Chopping Mall Theme!
  2:09pm Marie:

@Cecile--I like Kayak.com. I found an amazing fare to France this past August using the "Fareboom" ((?) comparison option. Fly like the wind!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The fancy ones call themselves hobgoblins.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Dave in Vermont:

we'll be playing this archive for the trick-or-treaters
  2:15pm bill:

as i was about to say... great show!
Avatar 2:15pm Chris M.:

@Rich in Washington @bill: thanks!
@Dave in Vermont: i love to hear that!
  2:15pm Brendan:

I don't know how the Academy overlooked this masterpiece: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UoGGI1rc0oU
  2:15pm Marie:

Fun show, Chris. Great little quiz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Dave in Vermont:

I had the shit scared out of me trick-or-treating. It's the least I can do for the youth of today.
  2:18pm Marie:

Fave horror movies: Old Dracula (with Bela Lugosi) and I saw one version of Faust that was really scary. If I were going to wear a costume this year it would be as Captain Kirk's ex-wife
Avatar 2:20pm Chris M.:

@Marie: thanks and what version of Faust was it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Dave in Vermont:

I know it doesn't stand the test of time but when I was 7(ish) Them! had me totally captivated, when I hear the music and see the hairy ant antennae slowly revealed in the sewers under LA I still get chills.

I had a Hutch of Starsky and... costume around the same time. Ahhh, David Soul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm cory:

if we're talking about favourite horror movies mine is The Fog (1980).
Avatar 2:30pm ottovonbqe:

great show as usual
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm chris:

oh god, the car crash scene in lost highway... totally freaky
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Rich in Washington:

holy crap. I just realized I don't have the Lost Highway soundtrack. What the hell's wrong with me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm crateslinger:

  2:34pm Marie:

Hey Chris, it was Faust by Alexander Sokurov--here is a preview on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqkoLV81E3c
  2:35pm P-90:

@Chris M: great picks today!
@Dave in Vt: 'Them" is great, I think it does stand the test of time, as classic 50's sci fi/horror
@cory "The Fog" is definitely an overlooked John Carpenter gem, a minor classic
Avatar 2:36pm Chris M.:

@ottovonbqe @Marie @P-90: thank you
Avatar 2:36pm Polyus:

I guess mine would have to be The Shining. The 70s remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers kind of strikes a chord with me as well.
  2:39pm Bob:

Tourist Trap was a very spooky movie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Barney Grubbs:

can't wait for the drums to come in
  2:40pm Bob:

Starring Chuck Conners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Rich in Washington:

@Polybus: those two are definitely on the shortlist of movies that can still scare me.
Avatar 2:45pm Chris M.:

i watched 39 horror movies this month. if someone pledges right now i will list my top three horror movies of the month.
  2:45pm bill:

My fave is still Night of the Living Dead. MOMA's working a 4K rerelease
  2:46pm bill:

Chris M - Scars of Dracula?
Avatar 2:46pm coelacanth:

i've only seen a handful of horror movies,(maybe 2 handfuls) but "28 days later" was scary... partly because it was believable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm AnAnonymousParty:

The Haunting ('63 version).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm chris:

^^^ !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Rich in Washington:

Legend of Hell House is fun, plus it's got music by The BBC Radiophonics Workshop.
  2:50pm rw:

I just realized I've had the speakers in my backyard on pretty loud for the whole show. I hope my neighbors enjoyed it as much as I did! Thanks Chris M!
  2:50pm bill:

Hell House soundtrack would be right at home on WFMU
Avatar 2:51pm Chris M.:

@rw: nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm cory:

thanks for the great show Chris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Mick:

This has been a great Spooky Set @Chris M (the parts I've been able to catch)! I'm with @Polyus on The Shining, though I feel "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" deserves a shoutout as one of the best worst movies
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm chris:

thanks, Chris M.! Happy Halloween!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Summer and Michael:

This Earth track is amazing. Great show, Chris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Michael 98145:
