Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 10/22/16 6:20am Mr. Pumpy:

Btw, I picked up that Darren Alexander Whiteker vinyl I heard on here a few weeks back. Good stuff. Thanks!

Unconditional Love...killer tune. Taking requests? ;)

Good morning, Jeffrey. With the summer farmers' market over until May, I have my Saturday mornings back. Good to hear this show live.

Good mornings friends, strangers, people passing through, those that found this place by chance...it's great to be here again. Peace...

Hi can't pledge without a credit card. Where is paypal as option?!
Avatar Sat. 10/22/16 7:17am Jeffrey Davison:

Sorry, I don't know the answer to that just now, but I believe it's possible along the pledge process. Can't double-check now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 10/22/16 7:21am fred:

@dyingforbadmusic: I couldn't find it either when I pledged. Maybe you should email Joe McGasko and ask whether there is a way to use paypal wfmu.org...
Sat. 10/22/16 7:21am judy from croton:

Gee. Thought that sounded like Bobby Weir. Been dipping into Day of the Dead; always a bit behind in my listening.

Avatar Sat. 10/22/16 7:28am dyingforbadmusic:

thanks @fred - I just emailed him. I guess paypal is a pain in the ass, but still the easiest payment option.
Avatar    Sat. 10/22/16 7:31am Sem Chumbo:

@dyingforbadmusic: Joe gave me these paypal instructions. Go to paypal, when asked who to send money to, use donate@wfmu.org. Use the *notes* box to request swag (or not). Joe, I guess, sees the incoming donations. Job done, it worked for me yesterday.

Good morning Jeffrey and explorers! I hope the silent fundraiser is going well...!
Avatar Sat. 10/22/16 7:47am testingwithfire:

FWIW I just put the "PLEASE PLEDGE NOW" word out to some online friends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 10/22/16 7:48am Bas NL:

I was wondering.. Any chance alternate crowdfunding systems could work cheaper/easier for WFMU?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 10/22/16 7:57am fred:

@Bas: The current system isn't working in that respect, but a separate crowdfunding system would prevent pledgers from being thanked or winning prizes. And there would still be a need for the internal system for people who call or use snail mail. I don't think crowdfunding works well for a marathon. Would fundraising work without a marathon?
  Sat. 10/22/16 7:58am Standardgrey:

Good morning from Japan! Well, good evening over here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 10/22/16 8:14am Bas NL:

@fred: Just for the payment aspect of things.. CC payment is not as common in all countries for instance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 10/22/16 8:23am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...like hearing Woody sometimes & being embarrassed to realize, once again, that Bob didn't invent everything...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 10/22/16 8:24am annie:

good morning all, sorry to be so late.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 10/22/16 8:25am fred:

@Bas: I don't know why payment was credit card only this time. It's mainly an issue for us foreign listeners. So I'm biased in thinking that was a poor decision. Most likely we just don't give enough to be worth the hassle and expense of a paypal option
Avatar Sat. 10/22/16 8:26am dyingforbadmusic:

@sem thanks for the info. I sent money via paypal.
The system worked well before the WFMU relaunch. I guess paypal is a pain in the ass. They can freeze accounts whenever they want, they take out a lot of fees... but it's the easiest to transfer money.
@Bas is right - CC is not as common in the EU as in the US.
Avatar Sat. 10/22/16 8:27am Jeffrey Davison:

Hey again to all of you kind souls...welcome. Special thanks to pledgers. As to payment, see above comments or contact Joe McGasko.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 10/22/16 8:32am annie:

i just saw an article about a web attack that took down netflix, paypal, and twitter, among others. it attacked Dyn, which is the server that supports thise. i'm not at all hip enough to that jive to know much more. the story is a MoJo headline

I will count this playing of North Country as my birthday gift from fmu as I sit here with coffee, my pups and bkfst on the way. favorite dylan song ever! thanks Jeffrey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 10/22/16 8:56am Bas NL:

Thank Jeffrey!

Exactly - it makes a Statement about Songwriting as 'Literature' - even if Bob doesn't want it!
