The nasally city-girl accent really sells the witchiness of this.

Wait, Tuesdays and Fridays for 3 months and dried seahorse and repeat name 99 times and then chant 3 times.

This is bullshit. I already do that.

@SteveL: Maybe that's why I get nowhere with witches.

Listening on the app without visuals I pictured Louise Huebner as a more matronly type.

Handsome fellas, this lot.

Wow, Omega originally formed in 1962. Apparently still active, though two founding members have passed away in the last few months.
Avatar Fri. 10/7/16 9:37am Marty McSorley:

we got this silent fundraiser going this month. looks like im only at 1% of the goal they put on me. anyone got some love to bump that up a lil?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 9:40am Stevel:

Ya' know, if a Burning Spear track showed up, I wouldn't be shocked. Guessing I'll love whatever comes next, regardless.

Pledge for great radio! You know how good this is!
  Fri. 10/7/16 9:49am DaveinPA:

I filled in the pledge 'name', 'email' '$ pledge amount' at the top of the page, clicked 'next', but then I don't think anything happened...? Anyone else have this?

Im gonna miss Vin. But no love for the blue today!

This is pretty amazing. Was somehow hoping it was from the Brooklyn days, but I'd guess early- to mid-60s. Vin Scully just retired after 67 years as a broadcaster for the Dodgers.

1971 movies: Dirty Harry, Clockwork Orange, Klute, French Connection, Shaft, Andromeda Strain, Willy Wonka, Harold and Maude, Omega Man, Willard, Billy Jack, Two-Lane Blacktop, Vanishing Point, Bananas... Better than Suicide Squad etc???
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 10:46am melinda:

This sounds like cinematic urban foot chase music.
  Fri. 10/7/16 10:47am Brendan:

The Supermarket Blues song part about the wrong food in the wrong can reminds me of a story my mom once told me about one of my relatives from Wheeling WV who had a store on Wheeling Island. The Ohio had one of its floods and the store was badly flooded and many of the canned goods lost their paper labels. Being the depression era WV, nobody was going to throw them away so he sold the unlabeled cans as is as discounted ‘mystery’ goods to customers who gladly bought them for cheap. Guess it worked out.

Had no idea shit like this was going on in the 80s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:38am Polyus:

I remember working at a record store circa '86 where we had stuff like Bathory that just sat there. All the metalheads wanted more mainstream stuff - they thought Metallica was pretty bold. If only I could have predicted the future, I would have bought those records all up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:39am crateslinger:

in the80's black metal was for punks
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:40am Polyus:

Oh hey - Brujeria in my town tomorrow night, stumbling distance from my house even. Going to be a game time decision though, I need to save the $.
Avatar    Fri. 10/7/16 11:40am PKNY:

@Polyus - if I knew then what I knew now, I would have hoarded a ton of stuff, kept in the basement, and been able to retire by flipping them. And, I would've told my younger self "buy everything on vinyl, not on cassette".
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 10/7/16 11:40am Marcel M:

In the 80s punk was for punx.

UPPERCRUST??????!!!!! Do you have your mole picked out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 10/7/16 11:42am Cecile:

Metallica were perfect up to and including the first issue of Garage Days, Inc. After that, it's patchy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 10/7/16 11:42am Cecile:

I have some cystic zits that popped up, does that count? :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:43am Polyus:

Oh yeah, Metallica were great at the time, but anything not on a big label with actual production values didn't seem to interest many people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:44am Cheri Pi:

sure does! Don't forget to rouge your nips. Details baby
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:44am Polyus:

I didn't know Upper Crust were in town, Cecile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 10/7/16 11:45am Cecile:

they're playing Eagles 34. With the Grannies.
Avatar    Fri. 10/7/16 11:45am Rev. Turnip Druid:

In this town, anything with a guitar solo that went beyond 2 seconds was sneered at by the buzzcut kids for being metal. The tribal attitudes were HIGH-larious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:46am Polyus:

Ha, Eagles 34 is also stumbling distance for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 10/7/16 11:46am Cecile:

agreed. Go to the Crust. Brujeria can wait.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 10/7/16 11:48am Cecile:

sigh. this is like Vanilla Fudge screwing up your favorite Motown song. And I normally like Bobby Conn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:48am Cheri Pi:

Nipple rouge and moles can't!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 10/7/16 11:48am Cecile:

poly, what time do the headliners normally go on?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:50am Polyus:

Supposedly the bands have to be done by midnight, though I have seen people push it. But count on 10:30-11, I think?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 10/7/16 11:51am Polyus:

Guerilla Toss were there last week and didn't go on until 11;30, so YMMV, of course.

perfect. that's not too late.
