Good morning, fellow freaks!

Good morning, Mark R.!
Avatar 3:11am Mark R.:

It's George Gershwin's birthday, so I thought, you know...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15am joeray:

Have you heard the double cd set on Columbia Masterworks titled "From Gershwin's Time"? It's a really great collection of Columbia recording artists (and Gershwin himself) performing Gershwin's music from 1922-1944
Avatar 3:17am Mark R.:

No, I haven't--sounds great. This recording was made from piano rolls. Some purists had a problem with it when it came out, because he isn't "actually" playing, but I think it sounds fine, and it's cool to hear his piano technique--how he orchestrated this tune with just his own two hands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21am joeray:

I agree, plus, I don't believe there is a recording of this piano reduction by Gershwin.

Good morning!
Avatar 3:34am Mark R.:

Ah, the Continent checks in! Welcome, Guido!
Avatar 3:45am Mark R.:

I've been advised that there's a wonderful crescent moon in the sky right now--check it out!
Avatar 3:46am Mark R.:

Yes, a beloved piece of vinyl that Dead was...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50am joeray:

It's funny you should mention the moon tonight since I have my Macbook on a little table in front of a window, so all I have to do (and have been doing!) is to look up from the laptop screen and the moon is in my line of vision!
Avatar 3:51am Mark R.:

Might be time to retire that Jack Bruce LP, eh? (Hope you guys don't mind a trip down memory lane here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31am Fox (Rā-chul):

Hello! I'm here! I'm listening!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am joeray:

I'm still here! Did Kenzo tweek the active playlist recently? The "now playing" feature never worked quite right, now it does. The playlist also seems to fit on my Macbook screen better than I remember it in the recent past.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41am Guido from Cologne:

Listening @ work.
Thus not contributing much.
but enjoying much.
Avatar 4:59am Mark R.:

Not sure about the playlist, Joeray--glad it's working better for you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04am joeray:

Speaking of the playlist, that last set was great!
Avatar 5:17am Mark R.:

Gotta work on my segues!
