Wow, never heard this Hollies song before. Really great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 9/4/16 9:06pm coelacanth:

Jake - i'm planning to diminish my social life to a trickle, and just make lots of noise; but now i wonder if the ancient electrical system where i'm going can handle that.

-and YES to hollies harmonies.

Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?

Reminds me of a Archie Shepp record I heard on a Pacifica station a long time ago.
  Sun. 9/4/16 9:18pm retard riot:

Sad to hear you will be gone for a bit,
Hope you'll be back in the next schedule with a three hour slot!
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:18pm Dave Mandl:

Yeah, I can see that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 9/4/16 9:19pm coelacanth:

g, good question. the landlord seems like he'd probably let me, but then i risk throwing breakers (or blowing fuses?) for the whole house.
...i guess i'll find out soon.
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:20pm Dave Mandl:

@rriot: Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 9/4/16 9:20pm pacific standard simon:

Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:23pm Dave Mandl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 9/4/16 9:25pm coelacanth:

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 9/4/16 9:26pm pacific standard simon:

Happy crawling! :D
Sun. 9/4/16 9:31pm George in WO:

I saw Tull open for Blood Sweat & Tears early on at Fillmore East. Probably their first US tour. Pretty impressive performance.
  Sun. 9/4/16 9:32pm JakeGould:

@coelacanth: Well you can mail order anything nowadays, so hey.
  Sun. 9/4/16 9:35pm Carmichael:

Speaking of Tull, I saw Fairport open for Tull long ago. Dave Pegg played bass for both bands.
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:38pm Dave Mandl:

Ah, yeah, that's right about Dave Pegg. Last I saw Tull was maaaaany years ago.
  Sun. 9/4/16 9:39pm Carmichael:

I'm thinking '85 to '90.
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:40pm Dave Mandl:

George: Wow, that's great. They were an amazing live band then. There's lots of footage on YouTube. I didn't see them till later.
  Sun. 9/4/16 9:43pm cheri:

well dave i'm using my fathers computer tonight, I just want to say that it's been my pleasure listening to you week after week! believe me, it was fun!
Sun. 9/4/16 9:43pm George in WO:

Thanks, Dave. Saw you with Girls on Grass at Rent Party, really enjoyed it. I see you'll be back there soon, looking forward to it. Cheers.
  Sun. 9/4/16 9:44pm Carmichael:

Was Al Kooper a member back then? I just read his book, but can't remember the timelines.
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:44pm Dave Mandl:

@cheri: I believe you!
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:45pm Dave Mandl:

@George: Ah, thanks. Yeah, we're playing there again, but I can't talk about it here.
Sun. 9/4/16 9:47pm George in WO:

I don't believe Kooper ever toured with BST. They morphed into that David Clayton Thomas Spinning Wheel band. Not nearly as creative as Koop's band.
Sun. 9/4/16 9:48pm George in WO:

i guess I can plug it though, Dave??

in the words of abba dave, thank you for the music!
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:50pm Dave Mandl:

We (DJs) are just not allowed to talk about our own projects on the air or here, which I think is reasonable.
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:51pm geezerette:

Lovely show Dave!
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:52pm Dave Mandl:

@geezerette: Merci beaucoup.
Avatar Sun. 9/4/16 9:53pm geezerette:

:)
Sun. 9/4/16 9:55pm George in WO:

Girls On Grass, featuring Mr Dave Mandl on bass, are appearing in Maplewood, NJ 10/14 at Rent Party. They're opening for Jesse Malin. Rent Party is a hunger fund raiser that features great bands for a great cause. I saw Girls on Grass last time they were there. Extra twangy rock n' roll. Jesse does a great show too. C'mon down!
  Sun. 9/4/16 9:56pm cheri:

I hope youll 'be back real; soon, dave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 9/4/16 9:59pm coelacanth:

Excellent program as always Dave -Thanks!
-and i know you've taken breaks from the schedule a few times in the 2 decades or so (?) that you've been on the air; but i just hope it's not too long.
-Take care.
