Avatar 9:18am Marcel M:

@Chris: Is that an old Xmas photo at the top of the playlist?
Avatar 9:19am Chris M.:

@Marcel M: it's a photo of ME AS A BOY
Avatar 9:19am Wild Neil:

@ChrisM-Cheri Pi is a lady and she is here!
Avatar 9:20am Marcel M:

With your beloved spider.
Avatar 9:20am Chris M.:

@Wile Neil: do you ever worry that you are a bit too wild? like what if it's so off the chain you're a madman. this is all hypothetical of course.
Avatar 9:20am duke:

Good morning imaginary radio friends
Avatar 9:21am Chris M.:

there had better be a LOT of comments today. i mean TONS of them. i want a flood of comments like noah's ark style rescue 2 aminals ea but don't stop commenting
Avatar 9:23am Chris from DC:

If you can get me out my upcoming phone meeting I'll comment all morning.
Avatar 9:24am Wild Neil:

@Chris M...I used to hang out with Wild Bob...who was REALLY wild. I was just kind of a sidekick partying all the time on the weekends at his house with friends, playing pool, drinking beer and other stuff....
I think the Wild now means more along the lines that I am a nationalist redneck and thus more earthy, natural and in a sense pure, a throwback.
Chris, do you have a problem with multiple comments in rapid succession? I can get wild that way if permitted. I usally try to allow 2 minutes to pass per Ken who once told me and Cliff to put the brakes on.
Avatar 9:24am Chris M.:

@Chris from DC: just tell me who to call and you're out
Avatar 9:25am Chris M.:

@Wild Neil: Wild Bob sounds mental. you can comment as much as you like here.
Avatar 9:25am Chris from DC:

You're on.
  9:26am Polyus:

Appropriately, we are experiencing a massive downpour. I just had to go rescue a couple of bus-bound co-workers who were thoroughly soaked.
Avatar 9:28am Wild Neil:

Another Crazy guy named Pincus HATED wild Bob when he met him...my sister said Pincus sounded mental....was Bob actually mental? Was Pincus? Pincus is on another continent and incommudicado now...Pincus and I used to do marital arts in the streets of China Town (well, Pike street and environs) for fun....wooden sword fights and stuff...nothing crazy mind you....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hello, all. Time to study the habits of highly imaginary people!
Avatar 9:28am Wild Neil:

Pincus claimed he was "the subconscious creation of [an art student] " and would go to her art critiques and present himself as her artwork, walking talking artwork.
Avatar 9:29am Wild Neil:

without her consent I think.
Avatar 9:30am Chris M.:

anyone named Pincus was definitely a full on mentalist i have no doubt
Avatar 9:30am Wild Neil:

I used to spit in my sandbox and then eat the wet sand...is that too wild? I think I was four....
Avatar 9:31am Wild Neil:

Pincus is a genius and has a patent.
Avatar 9:32am Chris M.:

@Wild Neil: case closed
Avatar 9:33am Wild Neil:

I heard 25% of the American population is diagnosable per the DSM IV in any given year...that his the handbook for mental health professionals....what does that say?
Avatar 9:35am Chris M.:

@Wild Neil: it says where are all these people why aren't they listening to my show right now?
Avatar 9:39am Wild Neil:

@Chris-your show is one of my top 3 usually. Irwin, Brian Turner, Ken and Andy 7SD and sometimes Ken's show. Hearty White was pretty cool with his beat poetry the other night while alphabetizing my CD collection. I am sure I am omitting some too....oh, the Long Rally....sometimes Fabio is awesome....
Avatar 9:40am Wild Neil:

Joe Belok ! Usually awesome!
Avatar 9:40am Marcel M:

I heard, from Bernie Sanders, that 3/4ths of the 2% of that 25% have mentalist capabilities.
Avatar 9:41am Wild Neil:

@Marcel-like Telekenisis and remote viewing?
Avatar 9:41am Chris M.:

@Wild Neil: so i'm your sixth or seventh favorite? thanks
Avatar 9:42am Cheri Pi:

Same here @Wild Neil, Chris M is up there on my list.
Avatar 9:43am Wild Neil:

@Chris-it depends. Usually top 5. It varies from week to week.
Avatar 9:43am Marcel M:

@WildNeil: Exactly. He basically stepped down because of this realization. he had to.
Avatar 9:44am Wild Neil:

@Chris-there are some shows I really DONT like. Oh, I like Dusty too, when he's a guest. His show I caught once, its hilarious.
Avatar 9:44am Wild Neil:

I mean Clay Pigeon.
Avatar 9:46am Wild Neil:

I think there are more than 7. They are all equally good. It depends on the week. Garbage Time is awesome!
Avatar 9:47am Chris M.:

this could be my new slogan: "Imaginary Radio: Middling to Poor. Nobody's favorite show on WFMU!"
Avatar 9:50am Wild Neil:

Chris, at times your show is sublime. Its like art....some pieces are better than others, IMHO.
Avatar 9:50am joshuafried:

Right now it's my favorite. Tuned in at Shackleton. Another lesson in how DJs are so much better than shuffle mode. I guess it's the Jimmy Edgar featuring Rochelle Jordan in the middle that got me to log in.
Avatar 9:51am Wild Neil:

I think everybody's show is like that....sometimes some shows suck, others are great, it always varies. I have no "favorite" DJ....it would be impossible to be consistently sublime week after week yet still take chances....taking chances is what makes WFMU great....
Avatar 9:52am βrian:

Is that a Down's kid in the photo? He looks like so many kids I've known, though maybe not so cheerful.
Avatar 9:56am Chris M.:

@βrian: him me

Me? Why, thank you, yes, I did enjoy the Hendrix! But I'm sad he's no longer among us. A Defribillator/Brotzmann/Hendrix record would have shredded.

Best pizza on the planet: Pizzamania, in unincorporated Los Angeles County. Ain't deep, can't fold it, totally unorthodox. But heaven hot from the oven.

Found a cool Rodrigo and The Romeros classical guitar LP in an Amvets...some dick wrote their iniials on the cover, but the LP is PRIS-TINE.
Avatar 11:18am Chris M.:

@Wild Neil: the strategy is find a record you want to buy, then check that user's other stuff to bundle it with other things you want to buy to save on shipping. that's it

@ChrisM....but I want to FIND a great prog-rock, jazz or psychedelic record I LOVE for like a DOLLAR. But your strategy sounds good if you know what you want. I want to FIND stuff like when I FOUND the My Dad is Dead CD in the cutout bin for two bucks.....
Avatar 11:20am Wild Neil:

Do they even HAVE Record cut-out bins anymore? Or is that gone with the 90's?
  11:20am Dean:

"some dick wrote their iniials on the cover" -- what is it with that?! And the people who annotate the covers with, I dunno, rankings or something. Baffles me.

IKE-yeah, the backlash was HUGE, right?

I had the best turkey club sandwich of my life in Cody, Wyoming at a small, family run restaurant. The owner had roasted the turkey and grown the lettuce and tomatoes in her backyard. I am not a "foodie" but this sandwich was so amazing that it has remained very strongly in my memory (from, like, the 90s). Sandwiches can be amazing. I think that might be a great name for a band, "Amazing Sandwich"

Speaking of pulpo, I've got a hankering for grilled octopus.

A comment on how to be a courteous person: At the gym, don't dump foot powder in a ten square foot area and then just leave it there. Your mom isn't coming to clean up after you (probably).
Avatar 11:38am Wild Neil:

I no longer eat octopus because they are as smart as dogs...although I eat beef, chiken and pork so go figure....
  11:39am Jeffy Jazz:

When you're done there, I'm gonna need ya to run to Home Depot for some sheet rock.
Avatar 11:39am βrian:

I don't eat the smart ones.
  11:39am Dean:

I picked up a bootleg of The Band live at Hollywood Bowl in 1970, four bucks, at a friends of the library book shop, iirc.
Avatar 11:40am Chris M.:

@Marie: this is a great story and a great idea. please send me a recording of Amazing Sandwich
Avatar 11:40am Wild Neil:

@Ken-in high school the Olypics of the Mind go-cart guys had an accident involving a home-made go cart not stopping due to excess talcum poweder on the indoor course.
  11:40am llid:

also, when it's your birthday? try not to visibly expectorate when you blow out your candles
Avatar 11:40am Cecile:

I eat everything. I'm an omnivore. I just try not to be a dick about it.
  11:41am Marie:

Hey Chris, thanks. I'll work on it ;>}
Avatar 11:41am βrian:

I find used vinyl to be too chewy, so I leave that to the aficionados.
Avatar 11:42am Chris M.:

@llid: can i visibly effluviate?
Avatar 11:42am Rev. Turnip Druid:

i eat this audio.
  11:42am Polyus:

Man I just cleaned up a lot of dead flies. Kind of alarming.
Are we close now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Michael 98145:

@Ken, speaking of the gym, i hate walking thru some guys' drippings. TOWEL OFF!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am Michael 98145:

I remember those stores, Dean
Avatar 11:45am Cecile:

One of the worst nights of my life, Poly, was when we had an unexpected warm spot in November 1979. All these flies hatched in the space between the ceiling tiles in our apartment and the upstairs apartment's floor. They hatched one day, but then the cold the next day immediately killed them, and it was all thump thump thump all night. Had to take out the ceiling tiles the next day. Gross.
Avatar 11:45am Wild Neil:

YARD SALES can have LP gold! But everybody and their great grandmother has heard of EBAY and even Discogs by now...
Avatar 11:46am Cecile:

sorry, it was 1980. whatever. Gross.
Avatar 11:46am Cecile:

Yeah, but not everyone wants the hassle. Bank on that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Michael 98145:

i vaguely remember that year
Avatar 11:46am Cecile:

hey, it's proto-Torche!
Avatar 11:47am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Finally decided to put on the BRAVERY PAMPERS and start ordering on Discogs. It is quite the rabbit-hole of goodness. The daily want-list emails are the devil's work..
Avatar 11:48am βrian:

When I lived in VT, we used to kick back and watch the cluster flies form constellations on the ceiling.
  11:49am Polyus:

That's pretty disgusting, Cecile. Definitely worse than my situation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Michael 98145:

horse flies are the worst
  11:49am llid:

Chris M, effluviate away, it's invisible!

Avatar 11:50am Wild Neil:

BLOOD FILLED horseflies are a little bit worse.

wish I could go back to my LP yard sale. dollar a disc! everything must go! oh the pain...
Avatar 11:50am Wild Neil:

Bedbug bites hurt like hell and leave a nasty bruise/sore. YUK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am sphere:

RTD, I have used Discogs multiple times and it's worked great. My advice is pay as soon as you get the response from the seller--they love that!
  11:51am Polyus:

I find yard sales to be pretty picked over these days. The flippers get to them pretty early - the worst is when you see them actually trying to talk the sellers down on already cheap records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Michael 98145:

agreed, Neil.
This is "Dead Snow" ?
Avatar 11:51am Chris M.:

BLOOD FILLED horseflies would be a great grindcore album title
Avatar 11:52am Cecile:

Yeah, but any dead flies are disgusting, Poly. I do not envy you.
Avatar 11:52am βrian:

Adirondack deer flies can chase down a biker and bite him through his woolies. This I know.
