Someone should measure that pig.
  3:04pm JakeGould:

A knew a few pigs named Allison… Also a few nice ladies named Allison as well!
Avatar 3:04pm Cecile:

in those days we wore an onion on our belt which was the fashion on the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Greg from ZONE 5:

OK, this is getting weird.
Last night I had a dream that I saved a small pig from being slaughtered.
Then this morning my boss showed me a TV ad where a retired couple walks a pig.
And now…
  3:05pm JakeGould:

Oh how cute is Allison as she squeezes her nose through the bars of the prison that holds her! How cute are the captive!
Avatar 3:05pm Cecile:

I think the answer is that you should have a pork chop for dinner.
  3:07pm pierre:

Bonjour Scott
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Carmichael:

The other white meat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Michael 98145:

my weird pig dream involves them escaping from a train in an Yves Tanguey landscape
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Scott Williams:

It's actually wabbit season. Happy hunting, everyone!
  3:08pm JakeGould:

It’s not duck season? Sonofabitch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm Michael 98145:

( Tanguy, of course )
Avatar 3:08pm Cecile:

we have bunnies in our front yard. they are very bold as we are kind to them. I always tell them, "better watch it, because you look delicious!"
Avatar 3:10pm Henry:

almost sounds like Clay P.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Greg from ZONE 5:

I really loved my dream pig.
  3:11pm melinda:

Hi everyone
Avatar 3:11pm хтinа:

Got pigs on my calendar this month Greg ._.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Greg from ZONE 5:

I would have put them in March so it would be "March of the Pigs"
Avatar 3:15pm хтinа:

i gave up using 'pig' as an insult. It's not the pigs' fault people are so gross.
Avatar 3:15pm Cecile:

OMG, I just got a picture of a sleeping family of miniature pigs on my Instragram feed...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Greg from ZONE 5:

It's like I'm sayin', Cecile!
  3:17pm JakeGould:

Well, in Yiddish “Chazzer” means “pig.” And “Chazzerai” is “pig food.” So that’s a new way to say “pig” if you can wing it.
Avatar 3:19pm Cliff in Prague:

Howdy Scott & everybody
Avatar 3:21pm хтinа:

We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say.

Avatar 3:28pm pierre:

cooking myself a red lentils soup, it's great to be able to listen to your show live. It's been a long time.
  3:28pm JakeGould:

How long until “Snake Whacking” day?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Mike East:

Medusa track is pretty badass!
  3:41pm JakeGould:

In Russia, they have love of ear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Norman, the loons!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Lovin the show Scott!
  3:49pm JakeGould:

Maybe father fell down the well because Steve Merrill would’»t stop yammering. Lesser of two evils and all that.
  3:53pm melinda:

I avoided seeing 10 for years, but it was actually pretty good. Dudley Moore was a funny man.
Avatar 3:55pm steve:

wow... i was planning on going to Pioneer Works, but started watching that show Stranger Things on Saturday and couldn't stop til i watched all 6 hours and completely forgot about the show, until this moment.
Avatar 3:56pm Chris from DC:

Just in time for th'Guru.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Always good to hear Guru Guru
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Scott Williams:

@steve, you're the 2nd friend-of-respected-opinion who has said almost exactly those words today. I must pay attention! Hey @Bronwyn! thanks!
  4:01pm JakeGould:

Move over “Black Mirror”… Here comes “Stranger Things!”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Scott Williams:

@JakeGould, that's what it seems like. sans piggies
Avatar 4:06pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

  4:06pm JakeGould:

Not well versed in “Black Mirror”… The only TV pig past Miss Piggy I know of is Arnold Ziffel.
Avatar 4:07pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...a rare treat to dig y'all in real-time. And, I may add... th'GURU..!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Greg from ZONE 5:

These drums, all day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Scott Williams:

Rev! Da, your most exalted Mr Mani, no?
Avatar 4:09pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Aye, mani padre zoom...
aye, mani padre zoom...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Scott Williams:

Z5Greg, yeah! Mani and Rob't Wyatt, shit, yeah i guess we're giving the drummer some
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Scott Williams:

@JakeGould - after Black Mirror, there will be no more TV pigs
Avatar 4:11pm Cliff in Prague:

  4:11pm JakeGould:

@ScottWilliams: Yeah, they are kind of a pain in the butt that way!
Avatar 4:13pm steve:

Black Mirror, alright, but... Stranger Things... i can't believe a tv network finally made a worthy show specifically for John Carpenter / 80s sci fi horror obsessives. i'll probably rewatch the whole thing.
Avatar 4:13pm Bas NL:

Ceramic hello everyone!
Avatar 4:17pm Cecile:

hi, Bas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Marcel M:

Avatar 4:18pm Cecile:

Is Stranger Things super-scary?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Scott Williams:

Hey Bas! Marcel! How was your fill-in last night?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Chop Scott:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Marcel M:

It was a blast! A success, I think.
Avatar 4:22pm Cecile:

it looks like a good set. I'll have to check it out!
Avatar 4:25pm steve:

Cecile - for someone who doesn't watch horror movies im sure it is... but it wasn't excessively bleak, violent, or disturbing far beyond what you'd see on primetime tv. id say someone scared by classic late 70s-80s movies Halloween, Alien, The Thing would find it scary.
Avatar 4:25pm Cecile:

that would be me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Scott Williams:

@Marcel, I must listen! @Chop Scott, Scott!! Tank in the Shop afterparty, boy that was good
Avatar 4:26pm Cecile:

I might have to try maybe one episode and if I don't freak out, I might be able to handle the rest.

It's weird, I can watch real-life detective shows, but fantasy horror does a number on me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm chris:

@Cecile, my wife is involved with a mystery writer's conference, listening to former fbi serial killer detectives talk about their work will make you long for the fantasy horror stuff, i think. truly deeply disturbing stuff out there for real.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm chris:

cool, Marcel! i'll have to listen to your archived show!

hi, Scott, all!
Avatar 4:33pm Cecile:

I know. I don't watch serial killer stuff whether it be non-fiction or Criminal Minds. It sounds weird, but I'll watch shows about adults killing adults in passion, but I don't like torture or serial killers. I read enough true crime serial killer stuff that I never needed to look at it again. I think I'm just interested in the process. That's why I like a show like Lt. Joe Kenda's.
Avatar 4:34pm Cecile:

Also, there's an element of scary surprise in horror movies that's hard for me to take. If I'm watching something I know happened, I can kind of gird myself for it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Bronwyn Bishop:

I <3 Renaldo and I <3 The Loaf
Avatar 4:34pm Cecile:

I also like the shows about people breaking out of prison.
Avatar 4:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Michael 98145:

The national tally of mass shootings jumped from 254 in 2013 to 280 in 2014, then to 330 last year, nearly one mass shooting per day. So far this year, there have been 216.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm chris:

ah, i get it. just finished watching season two of Bosch. which was outstanding. the first season got a bit intense because of the serial killer plot... i'm a sucker for prison break outs too.
Avatar 4:35pm Cecile:

but not Prison Break. That's just horrible Michael.
Avatar 4:36pm Cecile:

I love the show and its title: I (Almost) Got Away with It.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Michael 98145:

this Flying Lotus is nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Michael 98145:

so's this
Avatar 4:40pm Chris from DC:

I'm a sucker for the sound of this Lie type of thing.
Avatar 4:41pm Bas NL:

Yeah, very nice, this Lié.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm Michael 98145:

i loved seeing bands like this back in the day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Michael 98145:

3 stars in a row - Orion's belt
  4:43pm Dean:

Agreed re: Lié. Sounds like Kommunity FK inspired them.
Avatar 4:52pm Cecile:

I know! I heard about it on Instagram a little while ago.
Avatar 4:57pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Another one for the 1971 RULES file. This Gila LP (and Bury My Heart @ Wounded Knee) are such killer.
Avatar 5:02pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Gila listening usually bleeds into Gomorrah listening @ home: filed alphabetically close, and compatible krauty jammy jams.
Avatar 5:05pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Bacillus label sounds familiar... Nektar, mebbe..?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Scott Williams:

yer good, Rev! yes, Taff Freeman of Nektar seems to be their benefactor
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Michael 98145:

"Rusalnaia is about honouring (some would say placating) the Rusalki - mischievous water nymphs capable of tickling victims to death - with song, dance, tree-decorating and wreath-making."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Jeff Golick:

Many thanks for that link, @Michael 98145. Was just about to go looking...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Michael 98145:

He reminds me of a cross between Elmer Fudd and the guy who narrates all those Rosicrucian child brainwashing LPs. Ralph something...
Avatar 5:56pm Cliff in Prague:

"Rosicrucian child brainwashing LPs"??? That's a thing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Scott Williams:

this is Steve Merrill, a Maine storyteller who opened the show today as well
