Sounds from the archive of the future, sonic drilling into the past, dissonant rumbling, lyrical melodies, noises (human, animal, mechanical, digital) inscrutable yet honest, desultory but consistent.

Where is Irene?
  9:36pm Joe stalvey:

Great cuts, enjoying the comments too. You are rolling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm |kє:

@Van, Irene is busy doing some intergalactic audio engineering, making sonic-blast devices to repel a Cardassian vole infestation. Can't let the little bastards eat all of the spacecraft wiring. Here's hoping she doesn't need to have any philosophical arguments w/a talking bomb.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Way kewl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm ike:

Seriously though, did you know Irene does audio work for some WNYC stuff like a podcast called The Sporkful? You won't hear her voice, but if you like food, it's worth a listen. It's fun and funny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm Tome:

Diggin' it David always a nice surprise !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Mike East:

@ike - I listen to that sometimes, but I almost always read the web summaries. He's got some pretty good ideas and viewpoints, but at times will make some outrageous statements for the sake of being provocative, I think.
  10:09pm JakeGould:

People! Why not talk about the nice DJ who is here right now playing nice music for you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm Tome:

Thelonious Monk as reported by Wavy Gravy:
'We're all geniuses @ being ourselves.'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Mike East:

Yeah, David - digging the sounds you're putting out there. Last track in that last set especially.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm ìkƎ:

Agreed. He is a very nice gentleman playing lovely music.
Avatar 10:18pm Marcel M:

Avatar 10:19pm Marcel M:

Nice set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm Mike East:

I've been calling my son boyo...cuz of that song
Avatar 10:20pm Marcel M:

@Mike: In a Jamaican accent?
Avatar 10:20pm Inner Ear Detour:

Glad you're enjoying the detour. Re Wrong Em Boyo, I love how slow the song is
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm Mike East:

Yes, Marcel, as best I can do.
Avatar 10:25pm Marcel M:

Hah! Would not sound right otherwise!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Mike East:

I don't think he gets the reference, though he's only four months, so there's still time to school him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31pm Alejandroool:

Always a joy to hear something off this Nick Carter album when switching on 'fmu
  10:33pm JakeGould:

@MarcelM: I wonder if at 45 rpm it would sound like “The Clash?”
Avatar 10:36pm Marcel M:

@Jake: Mike's Jamaican accent?
  10:40pm Carmichael:

David! Nice Tuesday surprise.
Avatar 10:43pm Inner Ear Detour:

@Carmichael -- Good to see you too
  10:49pm JakeGould:

@MarcelM: You are on a level of inside joke I can’t even come near.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm melinda:

This is pretty.
  10:58pm Carmichael:

Boyo is a nice Irish word. Everyone should use it.
  10:59pm JakeGould:

Boyo backwards is “O Yob” and that doesn’t seem like a positive thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm Mike East:

glad to know that, Carmichael. Now I can start saying it to my son in a bad Irish accent as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Mike East:

I really like the free-ness in your form, David.
  11:10pm Carmichael:

It's almost a challenge word, like "Let me tell you somethin', boyo ..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm Mike East:

sounds like something I'd say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm coelacanth:

greetings David and others
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm coelacanth:

...good to hear you again, David.
Avatar 11:15pm Inner Ear Detour:

@coelacanth Howdy, good to see you. Welcome
  11:15pm karpo:

Greetings from Paris : ) Nice to hear you again Dave Some good surprises Thought of Pan Sonic listening to Chris Abrahams for some reason and what a surprise "Tout ce que je sais" Good set! Cheers!
Avatar 11:18pm Inner Ear Detour:

@Karpo What a pleasant surprise! Hope you're doing well. Glad you're enjoying the ear-offerings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm coelacanth:

(the inner earferings?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm mariano:

Veeeeery pretty, this Maxine Funke!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23pm coelacanth:

mariano i never did see that logo you were working on a few weeks ago. how'd it work out?
  11:24pm JakeGould:

@coelacanth: “He put… creatures… in our bodies… to control our minds. He made us… say lies… do things.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26pm earfering:

no he didn't. that's propaganda.
  11:26pm Melodie:

Sweet! Thanks for playing "For Giving" David!!!
  11:28pm Carmichael:

This set is kinda Ireney, but not quite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm mariano:

@coelacanth: Ugh. Just had a call with them today, their director, with the aesthetics of a businessman, decided he wants to keep their original one that's basically a cheap clip art of the Brooklyn Bridge, except now he wants the text to be blue and the bridge gold, so it look like the name of a sports bar in South Bend. Thanks for asking though, will hopefully recycle/repurpose the work in some future project.
  11:29pm JakeGould:

@earfering: Yeah, the Captain disintegrating himself to escape the pain on the bridge was such a clear ploy for sympathy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30pm earfering:

Irene gets Ireney sometimes.
  11:32pm luh3417:

gosh this track is spooky. very John Cagesque.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm earfering:

mariano that's too bad. hopefully you get paid for your time either way.
Jake, i thought that was a Captain James T. Kirkism! i don't know what episode though. it's been too long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm coelacanth:

(oh, i forgot to revert to my usual moniker)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm mariano:

@coelacanth: No worries, I get paid for the whole project!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm Mike East:

heard bad things about the new Star Trek
  11:44pm Carmichael:

No tribbles, no trek. That's how I look at it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm coelacanth:

i'm not so surprised. i still like the original star trek though. fairly blaze' about everything since.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good evening, David and inner ear tourists.
  11:47pm JakeGould:

@MikeEast: The second they showed someone on the Enterprise crew doing a roundhouse kick to hurt something, I was gone.

@coelacanth: That quote is from Chekov in “Wrath of Khan” when they put those bugs in his hear—and his captain’s ear—to control them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm Mike East:

some great choices you're making here.
Though I just discovered my right speaker was knocked over this whole time so I've only been listening to one channel....may have to re-listen to the archive to hear what I missed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm coelacanth:

oh. chekov... amazingly kirkish.
Avatar 11:54pm Inner Ear Detour:

Thanks for tuning in, folks. See you next time around.
  11:54pm JakeGould:

Thanks David!
  11:57pm Carmichael:

Great show, boyo!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00am coelacanth:
