It's okay not to like Information Society. They came to a local club in Mosco, Idaho circa 1993 and the stage was apparently blacked out between songs for their audience chat, leading many in the audience to believe that the entire show was pre-recorded... P-90:

Guaraldi was the Real Thing, a Genius. Charles Shulz was a fan of modern Jazz. I think when they made the first animated Peanuts Christmas special, Shulz, who had input on every aspect, thought that "something like Brubeck" was the kind of music he wanted. Someone recommended Guaraldi as "an up-and-coming Brubeck type." Everything clicked, and the results were classic. Sad that Guaraldi died so young, he certainly would have written a lot more brilliant stuff.

We had a couple ocarinas when we were kids. They might have been Crackerjack® prizes.

Correctamundo, Melinda. I learned how to play ocarina to that sound. A strange instrument ...

Ocarina is the sound at the beginning of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly Theme.

Ocarina is like a chubby cousin of the flutophone, which are the "shitty plastic recorders" mentioned above. Except there are some pretty good, non-shitty ones.

Pooey flute sounds like it might actually be a recorder(s)

Golden Voyager LP comes with foolproof instructions for playing it, any dumbass aliens should be able to figure it out.

Ocarinas are also called "Sweet Potatoes", which they resemble. We technical people know them as Helmhotz Resonators.

Because I'm Irish, I play the tin whistle. I think it's a law. Would that be considered pooey?

I still have three of my 1980s recorders. Monroe Elementary in Boise couldn't lose them fast enough

Though I do worry sagan and co switched the album for some gold plated Derek and Clive, after a night of sambuca.

Yeah, it's chubby, just Google "ocarina" and see. I believe they also used to call it a "sweet potato" because of its chubby shape...

Voyager LP instructions: voyager.jpl.nasa.gov...

If any of you have music sample playing apps, I'd be happy to make a pooey flute instrument for you.then anything with MIDI could be poeyated.

The Voyager disk originally included "American Pie", but the young Andrew Breckman snuck into the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena and erased it before launch.
