First. First. First.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm rrg:

And second!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm AnAnonymousParty:

Home Run!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm rrg:

I wonder what we're listening to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm AnAnonymousParty:

At least it's snappy.
  3:06pm Laura L:

Some kinda bongos, no?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm rrg:

If only there were some technology, some way of knowing before the microphone break.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Irwin:

Ray Bryant on piano.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm rrg:

But I'm guessing this is Art Blakey.
  3:08pm Laura L:

Does RRG win the smiling dog?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Irwin:

Are you sure it's a dog?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm rrg:

Hi, LL. And though I'm reluctant to keep bringing it, you and I still want to hear that doggie song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm AnAnonymousParty:

I'm not sure it's smiling.
Avatar 3:10pm glenn:

by doggies? or about?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm rrg:

About. About that one in the window. The one with the waggly tail.
  3:11pm Laura L:

Smiling doglike things can be so deceptive.
  3:12pm Little Red Riding Hood:

Tell me about it.
  3:13pm upstatesean:

what happened to the Funk? that was a lot better.

just kidding!
  3:13pm Three Little Pigs:

  3:14pm Laura L:

Let's face it, Irwin's a cat person and isn't going to play that song. Nope, he's never going to cat-pitulate.
Avatar 3:14pm glenn:

ah. the patti page opus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm rrg:

Doggone it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm rrg:

We wanted to hear it during the PP tribute set but we were ignored.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm rrg:

Fortunately I happen to have it right here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm rrg:

But Irwin has it too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm rrg:

Cat person or not.
Avatar 3:18pm Wild Neil:

PEACE everybody. Irwin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Alison Porchnik:

I concur with that self-diagnosis.
  3:24pm Dean:

I prefer napping in place.
Avatar 3:24pm Wild Neil:

Parking far away is another way to get more walking done. It adds up. Running can be awesome if you do the couch potato to 5k plan, you run intervals and also walk working your way up to running 5k in a few weeks. Endorphins make me feel 18 again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm thatpatsmith:

Wow. Channeling a little Kenny G today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Stevel:

Stairs, baby! (and meat.) 16 flights so far today! I am mighty, if somewhat winded.
Avatar 3:27pm Wild Neil:

Is/Is will get a clicky star for its big echo-y sound. Great name like Was Not Was, The The and others.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm AnAnonymousParty:

Is/Is = 1
Avatar 3:31pm Wild Neil:

I INSTANTLY knew it was Stereolab. They have been around at least 20 years...I remember listening to them in an attic near the Atlantic City Boardwalk in the 90's...making a metal hand sculpture. The sculpture was movable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm AnAnonymousParty:

I like anything that fluoresces.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm rrg:

I can live with "Colours" but "Flyying" bothers me.
  3:36pm Mark R.:

Really loving the trippy guitar on this Flyying Colours track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Irwin:

Mark: All the Flyying C's stuff has great guitar. They're from AU.
  3:38pm Dean:

Australia? Austria? American University?
  3:38pm Mark R.:

Thanks for turning me on to Lost and Found. Wasn't really familiar with them, and speaking of trippy, what about this album cover?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm rrg:

  3:39pm Mark R.:

Actually, you're killing me with this whole set. Probably the greatest version of "Jailhouse Rock" in history.
  3:40pm Jack:

This sounds like my band. with me singing.
  3:40pm Dean:

Alternative Ulster
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm Michael 98145:

Yale House Rock
  3:41pm Sig Hansen:

Now we're rockin'
Avatar 3:41pm SueAdynamo:

this guy was born without rhythm.
  3:41pm Mark R.:

I like how he's undeterred by the band moving on without him.
  3:41pm Dean:

Nor did he have it thrust upon him.
  3:42pm Jack:

I learned something here: if I forget the lyrics I can just sing in Filipino...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm AnAnonymousParty:

You gotta do what you gotta do when you rock to the beat of a different drummer.
Avatar 3:43pm Wild Neil:

Is it me, or is the piano out of tune?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm AnAnonymousParty:

Out of tune with itself, or the rest of the band?
Avatar 3:45pm Wild Neil:

Itself. I thought I heard unintentional discord. Maybe its just me.
Avatar 3:50pm Wild Neil:

It was me...she is a virtuoso pianist...
  3:53pm Mike tp:

The Jayhawks write some real sweet music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Irwin:

New album is marvelous.
  3:55pm Mike tp:

Oh hello Irwin n fellow enjoyers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm AnAnonymousParty:

It's ok to page Mr. Proust; just don't text him, the response could eat up your data plan.
Avatar 3:55pm Wild Neil:

Beautiful vocals on Jayhawks...reminds me of Velvet Crush...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Alison Porchnik:

@AnAnonymousParty - Proust joke FTW
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm Irwin:

This Proust guy was logorrheic?
Avatar 4:03pm Wild Neil:

@Irwin-is Joe Frank to ill to make new material? I kind of assume he is...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm AnAnonymousParty:

Depends or whether you consider sentences nearly 1000 words long logorrheic I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Alison Porchnik:

JF is working on new stuff. I know, my name isn't Irwin.
  4:12pm berbo:

kind of weird to hear Joe Frank mention 'youtube'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Irwin:

AP is following Joe's activities and travails closely. Updates are posted on his Indiegogo Medical & Recovery Fund.
Avatar 4:18pm Wild Neil:

@Irwin-I will read up. Thanks for the information!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm AnAnonymousParty:

Only two teller stations open in a large bank? Yep, this is non-fiction for sure.
Avatar 4:19pm Wild Neil:

I heard in the beginning early Christians used the fish symbol, but about 50 years later adopted the cross...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Irwin:

Regarding the "dog" on today's PL, found him at the Stormville flea market. Did not buy, just took a few snaps. He's not more than a foot long, and it's hard to tell if it's taxidermy or a sculpture with animal fur stitched on. There are seams on the legs and underbelly. There is nothing remotely real going on in his mouth. If it's a dog, what breed?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm AnAnonymousParty:

American Bulldog?
Avatar 4:26pm Wild Neil:

Looks like a pitbull head with a golden retriever coloration. So, Joe Frank re-wrote Job.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm AnAnonymousParty:

The bet was for a dollar, right?
Avatar 5:02pm drewo:

Milwaukee you say? Heading there next week to see Grandma! And maybe CC?...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm rrg:

Love that Ann Miller. Love seeing her dance. Well, hearing her dance in this case.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Mike East:

really dug/am digging the show today, Irwin.
  5:25pm Jack:

I bought 3 copies of Blue Cheers' Outsideinside album for 69 cents each. I already owned a copy. But it's that good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm Alison Porchnik:

Irwin's profile pic should be a GIF. Someone please get on that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm Irwin:

Mike: Lots of great drummers today. Cobham, Mattacks, Gibbs, Dan Taylor, Hammes, and those cavemen on "Modern Man."
Avatar 5:31pm geezerette:

Loved the tap dancing too. :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Mike East:

keepin it going with Martin. Saw MMW a long time ago...he was the highlight.
  5:53pm Banjo Lisa:

Irwin, so happy to hear you share the love regarding Dave Mattacks!! He was kind of an old pal i mine as i was connected to the Mary Chapin Carpenter family of musicians and techs. Dave was her drummer for a long time and may still be! i think so.
Thx for the show always. Been a fan for years! :)
Avatar 5:55pm geezerette:

faux Lennon-ish,Beatleistic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Irwin:

Thanks, Banjo gal. On that Liege & Lief album, the drums on the 8+ minute "Tam Lin" are the only thing I hear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Irwin:

Geeze: It's a '60s cover.
Avatar 5:56pm geezerette:

Don't know the song!
Avatar 5:57pm geezerette:

Loved the show!
