Thanks for introducing me to Explorer's Club this year, Mike!! Amazing
Avatar 11:11am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Don't Waist Her Time' hitting 'Long Promised Road' by B.Boys buttons. I worked a CD store (when they was ones) & someone just left Disc 3 of 'Good Vibrations' box set w/ no case or anything - a really interesting period for the band ; love discovering music unpredictable ways like that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am fred:

@RRN63: Hopefully not relevant, but a guy I knew at the time would make CDs of his own noise stuff printed with well-know bands "outtakes" labels and leave them on CD players in record stores back then. I'm sure many others did that
Avatar 11:15am DeemerDave:

Play'n the giants today. Williams, Pickett, Nordine...

Always loved that little "luxury" bit from the ML live album.

New Englandars not friendlier than New Yarkers!? Are you facken kidding me? I'll kick ya friggin ass to prove we're friendlier.
Avatar 11:20am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Just listened to Beatles topic podcast - Liverpudlian author describing NYC as Liverpool on steroids.

@fred -- HA!! Great idea

We'll be seeing the Explorers Club tomorrow evening in Crozet, VA. Woo hoo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am fred:

I only went to the US once. Spent two weeks in Foxboro, these New England folks won me over forever. Went on with a Broncos jacket, left a Pats fan for life (that was in 1987, no "dinasty" in sight then)
  11:29am P-90:

Hi Michael and Gang
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am Parq:

Michael, the NEers treated you that way because you're from New York. Good thing you didn't tell them you live in NJ, or you would have absolutely never heard the end of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am fred:

@Parq: that's quite amazing: I though the rest of the US just pretended NJ didn't even exist
Avatar 11:34am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...people are up here in NorthNewEngland (where I am) *because* they want to be North of NorthEast of Nowhere & don't wanna be bothered here - or, they can't escape (or are too dumb to know they should). Small towns are xenophobic - but see humans as persons more than BigCity folk. Has been suggested that NYC is really a large series of smaller neighborhoods in fact...but perhaps less xenophobia. But - tough...
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:35am Listener Baby:

Mainers remind me of Californians a lot. In a weird kind of way.
Avatar 11:35am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- yeah - extreme Coasts.
Avatar 11:36am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Even in Colonial days - NYC was New Amsterdam & more International.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am fred:

@Parq: full disclosure: I came very close to moving to NJ 20 years ago. Had I known about FMU back then, I would have
  11:40am P-90:

And don't none of youse forget that THE Micharl Shelley will be performing some #1 Hits live at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY, TONIGHT at 6 PM.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:41am Listener Baby:

@P-90 You were reading my mind. The man plays two shows a year. So catch both of them!!
  11:45am P-90:

And: Just how the Hell IS Chuck Berry still alive?!
...not complaining about it by any means...just sayin, jeez

@RRN63: Chuck: a key example of Scorpio fortitude and vitality?
Avatar 11:46am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Wow. Amazing Live harmonies. Wow.
Avatar 11:47am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Chuck Berry is a Libra social poet of the highest order. & - a self-motivated determined ornery lover of Life (& royalties)...
  11:49am P-90:

OOPS, typo above: Michael Shelley's show TONIGHT at Union Hall (unionhallny.com) is at 8 PM, not 6. Doors open at 7:30, I hear.
  11:51am P-90:

@RRN63: You mean all these years I was misinformed that Chuck is a Scorpio?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Parq:

Chuck Berry drinks the same elixir as Keith Richards, I'm guessing. Anybody else get POed at all the news pieces that suggested that Scotty Moore was important only because Keith cited him as an influence? Or started with "You've probably never heard of him, but ... "
Avatar 11:55am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@P-90: Maybe he has other Scorp in his chart than the SunSign.

Elvis-Scotty-Black-D.C. was a great band, man!

...Anybody can be a RawkBand - but you have people w/ harmonies on rekkids - don't even try Live. Props. Beautiful.
  11:55am P-90:

The press re: Scotty Moore's life HAS indeed been infuriatingly shallow and misleading...
Avatar 12:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

That was amazing thru even my worst speakers
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Show was a lot of fun last night and YES the drummer totally killed.

  12:05pm P-90:

BRAVO Explorer's Club! Also great engineering!
  12:12pm Marc15:

Will Glen Jones, The King Of Asbury Park, be there?
  12:14pm P-90:

They "Carpet Zambonied" the floor of Monty Hall? Wow.
Avatar 12:15pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Marc15: Yes, Glen Jones will be there upon conclusion of The Mets game.
