Is everyone getting that popup window when you post comments? Did they just change the way this page works?

Howdy, geezerette. I hope this will make your work easier.

Marcel M:

Yeah, its a new thing as to not upset live video feeds while commenting.
Avatar 8:17pm
Dave Mandl:

@Marcel: Ah, thanks. I had no idea. Haven't posted comments on anyone's page in the last few days (at least).
Avatar 8:18pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I changed it a few days ago. It's better.

Ah, the stuff of lawsuits...

Embrace The Popups. We Will All Be One (Popup).
Avatar 8:20pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

So that's 'Taurus'. Okay. I'd say from one listening - similar enuff to be an influence - but Zep took it somewhere else.
Avatar 8:21pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...it doesn't help they're serial plagiarizers...

Ken From Hyde Park:

One side effect that I like about the pop-up is that if you start to answer someone's question and someone else answers it ahead of you, you see it and you can cancel your comment.
Avatar 8:29pm
Dave Mandl:

@Kenzo: It's good! It just caught me off guard.
Avatar 8:29pm
fleep:

Wow, it has XTC DNA built into it.
Avatar 8:29pm
Dave Mandl:

And a good evening to you, fleep, RRN63, Ken.
Avatar 8:30pm
Dave Mandl:

@fleep Yeah, sounds just like XTC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm
melinda:

Yes Dave, I think it changed earlier this week.
Avatar 8:32pm
Dave Mandl:

@RRN63: Yeah, that's a tiny part of Stairway. And not *that* unusual a chord sequence for a rock song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm
melinda:

oops, just saw all the other comments.

PMD:

So that was the monkees? Interesting. Hi!
Avatar 8:35pm
Dave Mandl:

Hey, PMD. Yup, via Andy Partridge on that song.
Avatar 8:39pm
Shaun(ununun):

The vocals from Ann or Zeena gave this a Shaggs doing prog vibe, at the beginning. For me at least.
Avatar 8:42pm
Dave Mandl:

@Shaun: Yeah. It also has a certain kind of sloppiness, though in their case it's intentional.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Paul Bruno is filling in for Therese tonight. I think she's on vacation this week.
Avatar 8:54pm
Dave Mandl:

@Ken: Absolutely right. I forgot to mention that. Thanks.

X-Ray Burns's hat, maybe?
Avatar 9:12pm
Dave Mandl:

@Ike: Could be!
  9:19pm
JakeGould:

There’s a hat?
Avatar 9:21pm
Dave Mandl:

Yeah, a Trump hat.
Avatar 9:21pm
Dave Mandl:

Probably a joke.
  9:26pm
JakeGould:

I was just in Coney Island and visited my old stomping grounds in Brighton Beach. For the first time in a while I realized that Trump Village blocks the sunset on street I lived on. There you go!
Avatar 9:27pm
Dave Mandl:

Ha!
Avatar 9:28pm
Dave Mandl:

It's been there a very long time, though. Built by his dad, no?
Avatar 9:29pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- the story about Woody Guthrie writing a song about Trump's father being his landlord & a racist - true?
  9:30pm
JakeGould:

Yeah, Fred Trump built them but I never really thought of them blocking the sun just because I was raised across the street on Ocean Parkway in a tenement and that’s just how it always was. In general, kids in Trump Village were massive bullies to kids across the road. It was only in high school did I meet kids from Trump who I could relate to and not get into fights with.
  9:31pm
JakeGould:

@RevolutionRabbitNov63: Yes. 100% true. Woody was lamenting Beach Haven which was another Fred Trump creation; it had no beach and was no haven! www.nytimes.com...
Avatar 9:32pm
Dave Mandl:

@Jake: True, and true. I grew up not far from there.
  9:33pm
JakeGould:

For example, to most Trump Village kids, listening to Queen, David Bowie or even Michael Jackson made you a weirdo. “Cool” music for Trump kids was guido disco hits and hair metal.

@DaveMandl: Ha! We should share notes one day not on a playlist.
  9:34pm
JakeGould:

I still remember listening to a mix tape with OMD’s “Enola Gay” on it and some kid saw the track list on the cassette j-card and said, “Enola Gay? What are you? Gay?” 1980s NYC deep Brooklyn lunkheads.
Avatar 9:40pm
Dave Mandl:

@Jake: Fortunately I didn't know many of those kids, though there were similar kids where I grew up, one or two miles away.
  9:41pm
JakeGould:

@DaveMandl: Well hey, something in the Trump flora infects weak minds!
  9:45pm
