Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:06am Listener Baby:

Better believe it, Baby. Mike congrats on last weeks show. A tour de Force of out of the box radio. And props to Greg for his Sonny Curtis-Like grace and good humor. You rule!!
  11:10am Layet Johnson:

Loved last weeks interview too, Mike!
  11:19am Eddy in Australia:

+1 for last week's interview!
  11:22am Eddy in Australia:

Richard Lloyd's "Alchemy" aka "Blue Boy" by Orange Juice. I reckon they owe him a songwriting credit for that one.
Avatar 11:23am Superb Owl:

I can hear the bad mix. Lloyd doesn't have the greatest voice but his vocals were obviously passed through a weird filter. Although the instruments sounded fine. IMO
Avatar 11:25am Snortley:

91.1 signal has been dropping out intermittently all morning.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:25am Uncle Michael:

Teddy's voice reminds me of Jesse Colin Young's.
Avatar 11:26am Michael Shelley:

thanks Snortly - anybody else confirm this - 91.1 signal has been dropping out intermittently all morning - SNORTLY where are you listening?
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:29am Listener Baby:

Beach Traffic Beach Traffic, give me your hand.
Avatar 11:30am Snortley:

I'm in Kensington, Brooklyn - just south of Prospect Park. Any of the other 10 terrestrial listeners getting dropouts?
Avatar 11:31am tonyb:

i'm on 3 and heard 2 recent drops about 1 sec each

just had another
Avatar 11:33am tonyb:

yeah i think we're off now
  11:33am ?:

Yeah, 91.1 just dumped.
  11:33am herb.nyc:

FM- static fuzz for 1min...
Avatar 11:34am Michael Shelley:

THANKS I'll get Ken on the case!
Avatar 11:34am Faye:

in williamsburg jamming to Michael Shelly & then POW NO MORE 91.1?!?!?!
Avatar 11:34am Snortley:

Just getting static with WSHU and the Haitian pirate battling it out in the background.
Avatar 11:36am Marc Francis:

That was a great cover!
Avatar 11:37am Snortley:

No longer intermittent; 91.1 RIP.
Avatar 11:37am Sonny Rickles:

Did Clarence White do a solo album? Love this!
Avatar 11:40am Superb Owl:

Agree with the grace and genius of Greg Calbi. The #1 question would have been to ask about the mysterious "polarity" of the XTC Skylarking record.
  11:42am sue struble:

lost you on the air aaahhhh! any info on that?
  11:43am WillowRaven:

From Staten Island. Long time listener. Just lost your signal on 91.1. NPR Chicago just blew in. WTF???? Totally lost FMU. First time that's ever happened.
Avatar 11:50am Snortley:

Maybe another one of them Jersey raccoons. Or did the engineers decide to give a try with some of those cheap Russian transmitter tubes on eBay?
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:53am Listener Baby:

I got you, Baby
Avatar 11:58am Michael Shelley:

OWL - check out Mark Maron's interview w/ Tood R. - who says that that polarity thing is baloney...
Avatar 12:01pm Michael Shelley:

whole thing is good:
Avatar 12:05pm Michael Shelley:

and then there's this
Avatar 12:06pm Superb Owl:

Yup, the Todd interview is where I heard it mentioned. But at least one other FMU DJ thinks the new master with the polarity "fixed" sounds better. As an engineer, polarity of a signal should not matter, unless certain parts are cancelling out like how those noise-cancelling headphones work.
  12:08pm GrandWazoo:

FMU is off the air for 20+ min. Bayshore thru Sandy Hook, not receiving!
Avatar 12:09pm Michael Shelley:

yeah - we're off the air on 91.1 - and working on it
Avatar 12:10pm Michael Shelley:

I have not heard the NEW Skylarking - still have my LP and it sounds good - the question is: between Todd and Andy who is more crazy?
Avatar 12:13pm Superb Owl:

Different levels of crazy genius.
Avatar 12:14pm Michael Shelley:

Do you read the Steve Hoffman forums - there's a big thread on that new remaster - worth a Google
Avatar 12:16pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Let's get this shit sorted by 3 p.m.!!!
Avatar 12:17pm Superb Owl:

I will read that, thanks. Also thx for the Superhits of the Seventies: Hit Explosion, just got that in the mail this past week!
  12:18pm Santos L Halper:

Andy Partridge has been doing quite a bit of tweeting lately. is he in fact NOT allowed to use the XTC name anymore?
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Frank Above:

Hang Fire!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm patrick321:

Not getting WFMU signal in my Jersey City apt. Worked in my car earlier this morning.
