Avatar 3:33am Jeff Conklin:

I see that you have, indeed, played Chris Smither at some point.

I would like to put in a request for some nice music to dream to as I sleep. That cog-dis sounded great. I laugh at the word vaporwave, but yeah, some of that stuff is nicely done.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09am Scraps deSelby:

rateyourmusic says:

"Vaporwave is a primarily sample-based genre characterized by heavily synthesized and processed manipulation of corporate mood and background music (infomercials, menu screens, instructional videos, office lobbies, hotel reception areas, shopping malls, etc.), though it can include a multitude of genres (most commonly Pop, Contemporary R&B, Synth Funk, Smooth Jazz & Exotica). Vaporwave often consists of brief sketches altered by slowing down, looping, glitching, pitch-bending, and/or echoing a particular sound or sample in a compressed state, usually under reverberation."

Good morning, Jeff, and hello to the Avanti gathered here in the Get-Ho.
  4:13am ice in Bklyn:

So yeh me and my got into a fight over that Garcia song. I'm going home now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13am Scraps deSelby:

It sounds intriguing. On the other hand, the only thing I heard much of is Saint Pepsi, which is awful, even worse than you would think judging from their stoopid name.
Avatar 4:14am Jeff Conklin:

@Ice: Need some details on that...
  4:15am ice in Bklyn:

Well, it was New Year's Eve 2015
  4:16am SeanG:

Greetings from San Francisco!
  4:16am ice in Bklyn:

She wanted Aretha, I wanted Garcia.
Avatar 4:19am Jeff Conklin:

Hey, Sean, thanks for checking in.

@Ice: You were arguing over what to play at the countdown? Admittedly, that Garcia tune is a tough one for party atmospheres, not like I know what parties are like but i can imagine
  4:20am ice in Bklyn:

No no, this was at like 3am
  4:21am ice in Bklyn:

or 4:21

  4:41am Ajay:

morning Jeff. Great to hear Forest Management. FM will be touring with my group "King Champion Sounds' through europe in September. Sweet dbl bill. Greetings outta Amsterdam
  4:43am franny:

Every single time I tune in the first song I hear is face punch good.
Avatar 4:43am Jeff Conklin:

Very cool, Ajay. I think he's playing near me soon at some venue I never heard of with other bands I've never heard of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am pacific standard simon:

Everybody does "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" -- it's probably the most covered song on the album. Wading through so many versions was really hard. I liked the castanets in Bryan Ferry's version.
Avatar 4:47am Jeff Conklin:

@Franny: Thanks!

It's my hope that you go back and listen to the show in full as its intended ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50am pacific standard simon:

In the summer an old man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of pitchers of sangria.

  5:12am Violet in Cali:

Where's the sangria?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am pacific standard simon:

Working on it -- bought the pitcher and the raspberries.
  5:16am Violet in Cali:

never had it with raspberries that sounds marvelous
  5:21am ponychamp666:

loving the tunes from Newcastle AU man; wish we had decent local stations here!
Avatar 5:25am Jeff Conklin:

What a marvelous show this has been.
  5:28am Violet in Cali:

I'm getting all teary eyed from this set
Avatar 5:28am Jeff Conklin:

Aww, thanks, Ben
Avatar 5:30am Sem Chumbo:

Evocative set of indirect communication. Sweet, Jeff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31am pacific standard simon:

Don't add the raspberries with the other fruits -- they will fall apart. Use them as a garnish for the glass.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32am pacific standard simon:

Circled back to the Garcia, Jeff!
Avatar 5:33am Bentangle:

Did you see Kyle has packed up Grass-Top Records? It is no more :(
Avatar 5:40am Jeff Conklin:

@Ben: I've talked to Kyle, he's got some cool things coming up. Don't cry ;)
Avatar 5:41am Bentangle:

Sweeeet! :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43am pacific standard simon:

I could swear that Bert Jansch is advocating drinking and driving, but maybe my ears are fogged-up.
Avatar 5:55am Jeff Conklin:

Thanks for listening, all. Goodnight/morning
Avatar 5:57am Bentangle:

Thanks for putting it all together. See ya next week everybody!
