Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Fabio:

@ Choco Monk: That chick Karen Constance and Dan Melchior cd you put out recently was a goodun. She's a pretty good doodler too!
Avatar 3:26pm Cecile:

chocolate monk, yes! I'm not sure which show, but yes.
Avatar 3:26pm Cecile:

that's what it was - Constance and Melchior!
Avatar 3:26pm chocolate monk:

Fabio! yeah she can doodle alright, she is in her shed in the garden doodling right now, but that was a fine disk for sure.
Avatar 3:27pm chocolate monk:

Dan melchior is also a fine doodler, of that there is no doubt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm mrdonutsu:

I need to hire @chocolatemonk's Promo Rep! ;)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Carmichael:

Ya think Clay appreciates this music, or will he badger Fabio into a conversation about today being Phil Rudd's birthday?
  4:02pm jesus:

Love me more GHGSB & virgin mary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm mrdonutsu:

@carmichael Maybe Fabio and Clay can argue over menu choices at Phil's restaurant: www.philsplacenz.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm foofs:

I'm sure if I found myself in that situation it'd be no skin off my nose
Avatar 4:14pm TehBadDr:

I wouldn't mind a U2 filter to filter out their crap from the brilliant stuff they have done. Most of Achtung Baby and Zoorpa would pass that filter. Yes I am teh olds, get of my liPod!
Avatar 4:17pm đ¢ ÞäŦ:

Nick Cave: "I’m forever near a stereo saying, ‘What the fuck is this garbage?’ And the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers."
  4:20pm curlee59:

We lost another this week. Marlene Marder of Lilliput/Kleenex fame. RIP Marlene!
  4:20pm Dean:

That Cave quote is a cop from Stravinsky on Villa Lobos: "Why is it that whenever I hear a piece of music I don't like, it's always by Villa Lobos?" (I'll add that this was a lapse of taste for Stravinsky.)

Love Yasunao Tone, whom I heard years ago at a Vision Festival.
  4:21pm P-90:

Alan Dude!
  4:23pm lulu:

ah the soothing sounds of mr watts
  4:24pm P-90:

Someone should lock Cave and the Chili Peppers in a studio and not let them out until they record sonething they can all agree on...
  4:26pm lulu:

thanks for being a great dj fabio. its good in life to know there are some things you can count on - like the superb quality of this show

Avatar 5:00pm Cecile:

My husband was steam punk before it was fashionable. He will continue his pursuit of Victoriana and anachronistic tech no matter what.
Avatar 5:04pm TehBadDr:

Has he a Difference Engine?
Avatar 5:04pm Cecile:

no. cassettes suck.
Avatar 5:04pm Cecile:

Not yet. That's the dream.
Avatar 5:07pm TehBadDr:

My condolences. Hey, but whatever floats his and your boat.
Avatar 5:09pm Cecile:

he's more a costumer, an old soul. He likes dressing up like Dr. Watson or a Musketeer or an eccentric British earl for cons and Halloween. Pretty much he just adds a raygun if he's in a costume contest or something.
  5:10pm badźa:

Did you just say Norman Westberg is coming next week?
Avatar 5:10pm geezerette:

Is there still an underground? Feels like all the layers of time are stuck together..oh no! I thought for a moment I "got" Dali, but I'm fine now.
  5:12pm curlee59:

Steampunk is so cute.
Avatar 5:12pm TehBadDr:

You always "got" Dali, you will briefly only realize this in another time and space.
Avatar 5:13pm geezerette:

You bad Dr., do you mean it's incurable?
Avatar 5:15pm TehBadDr:

Perhaps say a manifestation of the mind, need there be a cure?
Avatar 5:16pm Cecile:

this is a very powerful piece!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Guido from Cologne:

"Once upon A Time In The West" was my my very first single in the tender age of seven. Reason for my fondness for twang guitars.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm Michael 98145:

Beautiful choice, Guido. Hope you still have that artifact.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm Stepchild:

Avatar 5:37pm geezerette:

Wow Guido, what a sophisticated seven year old!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Guido from Cologne:

of course.
I was dying for that and it was a gift given along with my first turntable.
It had some heavy rotation airplay in the early 70ies.
It took me years to understand that there was a creator named Ennio Morricone behind this (couldn't read English credits)

Avatar 5:43pm geezerette:

Did your parents take you to the film? That would be so mystifying and intense for a child. Probably give you nightmares.
Avatar 5:45pm Cecile:

I actually saw Once Upon a Time in the West at the drive-in when I was ten, and I was confused and disappointed. I really wanted to see Neil Simon's All American Girl with sandy Duncan, but I fell asleep in the creepy long Western movie I didn't understand.
Avatar 5:47pm Cecile:

what gave me real nightmares was Airport. hahahha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Guido from Cologne:

the movie is not for children!
It would have been much too disturbing.
Seen some irritating Spagetties and even one Cronenberg in my early teens though.
Avatar 5:48pm Cecile:

Guido, ITA, and it was also soooooo slow.
Avatar 5:48pm geezerette:

No kidding! Hope you've seen it as a grown up.

Airport, was Charleton Heston in that? I'd be frightened too! :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Guido from Cologne:

The german version was heavily edited.
Some key-scenes (slow-motion-shooting) were edited out for demands of self-censorship.
Avatar 5:51pm Cecile:

I think Charleton Heston and Dean Martin. Dean was serious and it was scary.

A joke that occurred in a dream of mine two nights ago: My brother is running for POTUS. At campaign HQ I meet Penn Gillette of Penn & Teller. Penn shows me a book, Ferris Wheels of 1730-1735. I remark, "Hey, it's about pre-Revolutionary ferris wheels!," to which Penn replies, "That's an old joke."
