Scratchy vanity 45s, pilfered field recordings, muddy off-the-radio sounds, homemade congregational tapes and vintage commercial gospel throw-downs; a little preachin', a little salvation, a little audio tomfoolery.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I wonder if "Jack" is a fan of gospel music. Hoo boy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm melinda:

hi everyone!
Avatar 8:03pm sinner:

Yes, Doubting Glenn. Feel the seams on the baseball and believe,
Avatar 8:03pm glenn:

i honest to god do not see the point of listening to wfmu and complaining about the programming.
Avatar 8:04pm sinner:

Hi, muh, muh, muh, melinda.
Avatar 8:04pm sinner:

who is Jack?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Ken From Hyde Park:

A malcontent complainer who dropped in on the preceding Hearty White program.
Avatar 8:07pm JakeGould:

Only good things on this goy show on Passover!!!
Avatar 8:08pm glenn:

oh right. happy passover, passoverites.
  8:11pm Listener Robert:

Glenn, I don't know about "complaining", but I do find entertainers in general, whether volunteer or professional, and their fans, tend to be overly sensitive about CRITICISM. On YouTube critics are called "haters".
Avatar 8:12pm glenn:

criticism is one thing. pointless whining is another thing altogether.
  8:13pm Listener Robert:

The problem is at its worst when there's an identifiable home team, as when comment threads are hosted by the person being criticized. WFMU's an example, YouTube's another, Facebook of course. And yet when criticism is allowed (not falsely invited & then suppressed), it adds enormously to the host's credibility.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Props to board operator Joe Duffy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm Cliff:

But telling a performer to shut up isn't criticism, it's just rude.
  8:15pm Listener Robert:

I still suspect the whiner was put up to the role by the emcee, possibly as an experiment.

But if not, at least he's stimulated discussion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm melinda:

I doubt he was put up to it.
  8:16pm Listener Robert:

I never said that was criticism, just as Ken said, "complainer".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm Lonely Planet Boy:

Let There Be Peace
Avatar 8:18pm glenn:

i'm with melinda. that would be a bit too meta.
  8:18pm Listener Robert:

Does Mr. Duffy also do the anmt at the end of the show? That IS a great baritone. He's the perfect "station announcer".
  8:19pm jon:

evening brother kevin, brother joe d and fellow sinners
  8:19pm Listener Robert:

You think HW thinks ANYTHING to be too meta?
  8:20pm Marcel M:

Im about to get stitches. Wish me luck guys!
  8:20pm P-90:

Really Kevin, it just seemed like some kid logged on and tried to have a little fun trolling the Miracle Nutrition comments. Nothing more.
  8:20pm Tom:

Great to hear The Boys
Last I've heard them was on Imus
Avatar 8:20pm sinner:

Tis Joe at the end!

Hey jon.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm Cliff:

Marcel, glad to hear you're ok!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm melinda:

Good luck Marcel! Glad you went to the urgent care.
  8:21pm Listener Robert:

Marcel, I hope luck's not a factor!

What's with the person-crossing-the-bridge symbolism?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm Cliff:

He cut his hand open pretty badly at the end of Clay's show, he said it wasn't bleeding too bad but we all encouraged him to get it checked out
Avatar 8:21pm sinner:

mid 1970s version the the Blind Boys.
  8:23pm Marcel M:

Yeah UC couldn't help me so im at the ER. It's funny, my wife is really bad with blood and she's in much worse shape than I am haha
  8:25pm Berndo411:

My buddy big quan had a clown mask he got it from CVS where nick used to work by the Hanover circle. When he put that thing on he'd take on an insidious tempermant.
  8:26pm Listener Robert:

Thanks for the explanation Cliff. Note that it didn't seem to affect Marcel's typing in Dusty's comments. If you do need stitches, Marcel, try to get a hand surgeon for it.
Avatar 8:26pm sinner:

I love bridges, metaphorically and literally. These are all bridges and the stairs designed and built by the African American slave Horace King in Alabama and Georgia.
  8:28pm Listener Robert:

Thanks, sinner. Was he actually employed slave-wise in building bridges & stairs? Or was that a career after he was freed?
Avatar 8:30pm dale:

good sounds. my wife came home and i had to listen to her day so i couldn't comment sooner. happy wife happy life.
Avatar 8:31pm sinner:

..over hill over dale.....sorry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm melinda:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm Cliff:

Maybe he's thumb-typing with the other hand on his phone? Ya know, modern technology
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm Lonely Planet Boy:

Avatar 8:33pm dale:
