Is it the lady in red?
  8:02pm P-90:

Howdy Becky! Outstanding vocals at the Sinfonia Sunday night!
Avatar 8:02pm JakeGould:

Hey Becky! So is this gonna gonna be a CD show now? :/

Hope there are biscuits to be flipped.
Avatar 8:02pm Becky:

@Uncle Michael The very same! Though today I'm in French New Wave stripes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm Uncle Michael:

Works for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm melinda:

Good evening! You were great at the Hoof & Mouth, Becky.
Avatar 8:06pm Becky:

  8:07pm diego:

love a little Lefty....
Avatar 8:07pm Becky:

And hey, thanks everybody. I'll stick to my night job here at WFMU for now.
Avatar 8:07pm Becky:

Hey, Diego!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm melinda:

I like the Bob Moore. I think the only other time I've heard him was on a 45 of the theme from My Three Sons I bought years ago, thinking it was the original.
  8:09pm diego:

I had to do math to post. ;) That's crazy... thank god is was just adding....
  8:09pm P-90:

Lefty kills it every time, one of the all-time greats
  8:11pm diego:

I agree P-90, Hankshaw ain't shabby either....
Avatar 8:11pm Becky:

@diego It's supposed to prove that you're a human, but wouldn't arithmetic be easier for robots?
Avatar 8:12pm JakeGould:

@Becky: I’ve fought online robots. They are fairly stupid… For now!
  8:12pm diego:

I switched from a BS to a BA just to avoid it... ;)
Avatar 8:14pm JakeGould:

@diego: I got footage of you attempting to type a comment. You seem baffled. www.youtube.com...
  8:18pm diego:

My kind of math is summed up in "Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray"...;)
  8:19pm Will:

I will confess, I thought I was all done with recherche C+W and hillbilly, but just like FMU is wont to do, they deliver a show that makes you listen anew and hear all kinds of goodness from those vaults. Hello Walls! Hello Becky.
Avatar 8:20pm JakeGould:

Oh man! Becky! What a comment on taxes! I actually have my tax papers right near me. Gonna get this done tonight!!!
Avatar 8:21pm Becky:

@Will Nice vocab! Thanks for listening.
  8:21pm diego:

what a "Cash" timbre he has to his voice.... new one for me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm cory:

@Becky, i'm going to be getting rid some country records (60s-80s) in a couple of weeks. would you like first dibs?
Avatar 8:23pm Cheri Pi:

I love your show Becky
Avatar 8:24pm Becky:

Oh @cory would I ever! Drop me a line, honkytonk@wfmu.org
  8:24pm P-90:

@Becky: Would you ever consider adopting the practice of including the year of each track on the playlist? Surely there's more than a few of us who'd be mighty grateful, if you'd kindly take the trouble, Ma'am. [tips hat politely]
Avatar 8:25pm Becky:

@P-90 I'll try to implement that when I can, but many of these weirdo ones require a bit of research!
Avatar 8:25pm Becky:

(starting with Bobby Bare!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm cory:

groovy, should have the list mondayish
Avatar 8:28pm JakeGould:

I like this song but really wonder about the name, “Bobby Bare.” If that is a birth name, all good… If that was a career move… I dunno Bobby.
Avatar 8:28pm geezerette:

This Bobby Bare is great. Makes me want to pop a cerveza.
Saludos Becky!
Avatar 8:29pm Mailman Tom:

@P-90, If you google the name of the artist, their discography should pop up.
Avatar 8:29pm JakeGould:

Is this a set of “Straight Talk” break songs? Lots of straight talk happening.
  8:30pm P-90:

Thank you kindly @Becky! I wasn't thinking about how many of these might actually be difficult to date. A lot of us just like to see where these fit into the evolutionary timeline, is all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm Uncle Michael:

Well I'm naked alright?
Avatar 8:31pm Becky:

  8:31pm P-90:

Charlie at his Elvisiest
  8:32pm diego:

I like the year info as well.... Becky, much appreciation for your work on this show!
Avatar 8:33pm geezerette:

@ P-90: Yep! OOh-wah wah
  8:34pm Renbo:

Holy cripes I didn't know fmu had a honky tonk show. I listen all day at work drivin my big dumb truck around the joint. As soon as I heard of this show I just KNEW it'd hafta be primo like the rest of this station... And it IS!!! BECKY YOU GOTTA NEW FAN ... Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35pm cory:

@P-90, are you going nuts on discogs right now?
Avatar 8:36pm Becky:

Avatar 8:39pm JakeGould:

Bill Rice at his Elvisist. Also, I appreciate the ability for WFMU DJs to multitask between this peanut gallery and the business of spinning the hits.
  8:39pm P-90:

@cory: With a one-hour show like this, I try to just relax and enjoy every minute. Plenty of time to search stuff and get obsessive later...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm cory:

(thumbs up) i email my faves list to myself when i go record shopping
  8:42pm P-90:

Got to see Carl Perkins on his last couple of visits to New York. Shook his hand after one show and said a hearty "Thank you!" He pumped my hand again and said "No...thank YOU!"
  8:44pm Renbo:

Are these shows archived and downloadable--?
  8:44pm P-90:

Yes, Carl wore blue suede cowboy boots to gigs
Avatar 8:46pm JakeGould:

Carl Perkins can do no wrong.
  8:46pm ?:

Silver fox was great Becky. I love to hear him on your show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm Uncle Michael:

Well, there was the unfortunate rug.
Avatar 8:47pm Becky:

@Renbo Archived, yes, downloading may take a little technical finagling. Click that Honky Tonk Radio Girl with Becky playlists link to find 'em all.
  8:47pm P-90:

@Renbo: Yup, click on "HTRG with Becky playlists" at the top of this page
Avatar 8:47pm geezerette:

Nice story P-90. Love the boots :c)
Avatar 8:48pm JakeGould:

@UncleMichael: The man wig?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm Uncle Michael:

Whoa...major grass fires west of town have gotten so big that the air here is now thick with smoke...seeing and smelling it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm Uncle Michael:

Yeah, Carl's piece was pretty awful.
Avatar 8:50pm Becky:

@Uncle Michael, stay safe please!
Avatar 8:51pm JakeGould:

Yeah, Uncle Michael if you are made of straw consider upgrading to brick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm Uncle Michael:

It's just smoke here.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm Uncle Michael:

That didn't work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm Uncle Michael:

Here: tinyurl.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm melinda:

Yikes. It's creepy when you can see and smell smoke from nearby fires.
  8:53pm P-90:

@Pufnstuf Dude: the term "rug" may never have been more directly descriptive than it was in Carl's case. To his credit (?) he did regularly joke about it himself on stage, it was a part of his act...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm Uncle Michael:

Good for him.
  8:56pm P-90:

Do they issue some kind of evacuation notice if the fire is heading your way?
Avatar 8:56pm JakeGould:

The first Carl Perkins I really heard was back in the 1980s when they put out these dinky 3" CDs of various country artists. Some place in NYC was dumping them for like $2 a pop. I bought a pile. And “Honey Don’t” came on… Wow! City boy me was blown away.
Avatar 8:57pm geezerette:

Lyle would say it was an actual rug.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@geezerette - Yes, for sure. A carpet sample or some such tale.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm Uncle Michael:

I don't think we're in any danger here. I'll keep an eye on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks for the fine show, Becky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Need some rain, eh, Uncle Michael?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm Uncle Michael:

Yes, badly.
  9:00pm Renbo:

Holy crap I thought the meadowlands were on fire again
  9:00pm P-90:

Thanks again, Becky. Have yourself a great week, Ma'am!
  9:01pm diego:

Thanks!! Here's to the next time! Here's to Glen!
  9:01pm Renbo:

Nooo it CAN'T be the end of the program. Bye@Becky and everybody nice to meetcha
