A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

greetings trouble and all :)

Artist for Piece at top of list?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am MD:

I like...
Avatar 9:11am Wild Neil:

Trouble et al-Good morning! This song sounds strangely familiar...

Avatar 9:18am bobdoesthings:

trouble, you ever play early vetiver? when Devendra was in the band?
Avatar 9:26am Trouble:

yes bob devendra is on this record.; love that band/man (andy cabic)
  9:27am Mark R.:

I find this music soothing and appropriate for this gloomy, Bummer Bob of a day.
Avatar 9:28am bobdoesthings:

ah i thought devendra was only on the S/T record and then they had creative differences.. meh what do I know.
  9:29am Mark R.:

Then just as I'm about to jump out the window, Linda Martell is all upbeat and pulls me in off the ledge.
Avatar 9:30am bobdoesthings:

"bummer bob" I don't care for this expression.
  9:31am Mark R.:

This comp. has been getting a lot of FMU love lately. I have to say I've liked everything I've heard off of it. It's a great concept, where soul meets country.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am MD:

OH! The Answer to my Artist Question was right above my post!!! Duh! Still not awake!!!
  9:32am Mark R.:

Sorry, Bob, I mean no offense. Bummer Bob was a member of the Manson family dubbed so by Charlie because he would occasionally decline to participate in Charlie's flea-bitten, acid-fueled orgies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am @sugarwolf@:

Bummer Bob did not do things then!!
  9:35am Mark R.:

I think Bummer Bob did some things sometimes, but not all things at all times, as Charlie wished.
Avatar 9:36am not a bummer -bobdoesthings:

I don't like any of this bummer stuff.
Avatar 9:37am bobdoesthings:

ahh thanks trouble, did not know that about Vetiver.. I thought it was the same group the whole time. Huh. neat!
  9:40am Mark R.:

Let's just forget the whole topic. I think we'd all agree (those of us in the Jersey City/NYC vicinity) that it is indeed a cloudy day. And probably most (if not all) of us would agree that Trouble is providing the perfect soundtrack for us this morning (as usual). In spite of the fact that she's operating from the primitive confines of Studio B, a veritable prehistoric cave of a studio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am common:

good day all

Bonjour Trouble and friends!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Guido from Cologne:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am sphere:

electric Miles! nice.
Avatar 10:15am chromaphone:

Wow, not sure I have ever heard this. So good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am Guido from Cologne:

the title is a dedication to Duke Ellington.
he used to say 'I love you madly' to his audience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am DreamCricket:

This is gorgeous, thank for making my morning as per usual Trouble.
Avatar 10:24am bobdoesthings:

yeahhhh this is way cool. what year was this Miles Davist?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am sphere:

One of my best record snags ever was Get Up With It for $7 with VG vinyl. And the shop was selling classic rock with heavy markups, too.
  10:26am Mark R.:

This album came out in 1974, Bob--late '74.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Guido from Cologne:

The double-LP is 1974 before his 5 year break.
But it is a compilation of recordings starting with 1970
Avatar 10:28am bobdoesthings:

Thanks Guido/Mark R!
  10:34am Mark R.:

This is really beautiful. I've been re-examining Miles's mid-70s work. It's not as freaky as I thought. Like all his music, I think he was just ahead of his time. Forty years later, I'm catching up.
Avatar 10:36am chromaphone:

I wonder if Trouble is off making art or something while this track plays:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am sphere:

what a great transition!
  10:42am Mark R.:

I dunno, but i could have listened to that Miles all day.
  10:43am Mark R.:

Esperanza Spaulding is pretty gorgeous, too, though...
Avatar 10:45am βrian:

Reminds me of the phrase: métro, boulot, dodo.
Avatar 10:49am bobdoesthings:

"subway, work, sleep"
  10:49am Nina:

Pretty music!!

Avatar 11:29am Wild Neil:

@Paige-I used to live on the Lower East Side, Midwood Brooklyn and the bad part of Park Slope Brooklyn (when it had one?)...1989-1993 or 4 I forget!
Avatar 11:35am Wild Neil:

Hector Guerra sounds a bit like Klezmer music and also African and other stuff like Balkan music like the stuff from the Borat soundtrack. Freeform freeform music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am annie:

trouble, trying to figure of this is brazilian?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am Michael in Seattle:

Well, he got us moving around up here this sunny morning.
Avatar 11:37am bobdoesthings:

@annie - seems like he's from Spain - es.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am annie:

yeah, thanks, bdt, i googled him. (with his permission of course)... and he's on spotify, duly noted and penned into the "music i have to check out" list
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am annie:

trouble, are you able to notice when the listeners "like" a tune on the playlist?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am common:

this is so nice to read with on a rainy day. thanks trouble
Avatar 11:44am Wild Neil:

@Annie-Excuse me and I am not sure this answers your question, and forgive me for jumping in but I think anybody can see from your profile which songs you have liked. You probably know that already.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am annie:

yes, i do, thanks... i wonder, though, if the DJs see the liking in real time..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am Michael in Seattle:

Ouch. I think Sainkho is burning himself.
Avatar 11:47am Trouble:

i think there is a format for me to look at perhaps @ annie, but honestly the main goal here is no dead air, so i don't have a minute to look at much.
Avatar 11:49am Wild Neil:

@Annie-I picture the WFMU studios looking like the War Room (as in Gentlmen there will be no fighgint in the War Room!) in Dr. Strangelove with all our vital signs, mood ring colors and bioryhtms prominently displayed along with an icon to represent our socio-political points of view.
Avatar 11:49am Wild Neil:

Fighting in the war room...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am annie:

... sure.. i dig it.. i always forget to click the tunes i like.. i really have to make an effort. aahhhhh!! ^ what Neil said...
  11:54am Mark R.:

Trouble for whatever reason it's been several weeks since I've been able to tune in and today reminded me how much I love your show.
Avatar 11:54am Trouble:

yes war room is an accurate version of the tension in the air as i hunt for the next tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Mr. President - we cannot allow a Tuesday Toon Doomsday DeadAir Gap!...in yer best George. C. Scott...
Avatar 11:56am Richard from Venezuela:
