wow, sounds so much like Bevis Frond
Avatar 9:08am Chris from DC:

It's Nick Salomon and I think Bari Watts on guitars.
Avatar 9:08am Wild Neil:

@Asheville-a cursory internet search seems to indicate they are related somehow...@Chris-are they related projects?
  9:09am Opal:

morning all. great track to start the day
Avatar 9:09am Chris M.:

yeah it's Bevis Frond and friends in various configurations on this album
Avatar 9:10am Chris from DC:

Actually got to see Bari play with the Frond a long time ago, amazing.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am Cliff:

Great set this morning. I've been up early and need to go take a nap, so I'll just leave this playing and have pleasant dreams

Avatar 9:46am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 9:47am bobdoesthings:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48am coelacanth:

Avatar 9:48am Marcel M:

Chris, isn't playing yourself on the radio against the rules?
Avatar 9:48am Wild Neil:

Chester! This is an AWESOME show you have just stumbled upon...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48am Ken From Hyde Park:

The music today will sound good on my imaginary vacation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am coelacanth:

okay, now he's singing the actual lyrics!
Avatar 9:50am pierre:

please do REV
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am foofs:

Topless! 40-odd years of thinking it was 'tapas bars'...
Avatar 9:51am Rev. Turnip Druid:

aye, W.Neil: and it is an awesome show that I must abandon for about half an hour. ... // shakes fist at office shenanigans //
Avatar 9:51am βrian:

Say, is that Studio B in the photo?
Avatar 9:51am bobdoesthings:

he's saying "mr mojo rising" huh.. never noticed that.. haha this is funny
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am MD:

I like to listen to the Track "Bleed Through"...engineer did a good isolation job!!!
Avatar 9:53am Wild Neil:

@MD are you being sarcastic or is that bleed through common even with good isolation? I am an engineer but NOT a sound engineer!
Avatar 9:53am Marcel M:

I never noticed the "Mr" either. DEEP.
Avatar 9:53am βrian:

Elocution, James. Elocution!
  9:53am Brendan:

Love the isolated tracks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am coelacanth:

on tape it's hard to avoid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am Ken From Hyde Park:

@bobdoesthings - Mr. Mojo risin' is Jim Morrison when you rearrange the letters.
Avatar 9:54am Marcel M:

Bleed is very common especially in vintage recordings... its not a big deal especially if you like a live sound. Can be a good thing in terms of making a stereo image as well.
Avatar 9:54am Wild Neil:

@Ken-if you rearrange the letters in Spiro Agnew it could spell "grow a penis"...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am coelacanth:

...the fudged lyrics in the first 2 verses. (if they were words at all!)
Avatar 9:56am bobdoesthings:

@ken from hyde park - oh like a palindrome?
Avatar 9:57am Wild Neil:

@Marcel-I have a strong need for bleed since my headphones are actually a headphone that only works in one ear...and Microsoft does NOT offer true MONO nor does the vintage headphone MONO button work,....gotta bring in other headphones...but some headphones literally hurt my ears...like the cavernous old ones, not the new ones that sit on TOP of your ears...
Avatar 9:58am βrian:

@bdt: Nay, an anagram.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am coelacanth:

does "anagram" have a good anagram, i wonder.
Avatar 10:00am βrian:

Did you mean "nag a ram?"
Avatar 10:04am bobdoesthings:

or 'ram a nag'
Avatar 10:05am bobdoesthings:

interesting that anagram is also a palindrome
Avatar 10:07am βrian:

Is it the Diane Show now?
Avatar 10:09am Wild Neil:

Eclecticism is cool. That's just WFMU for the most part.
Avatar 10:09am Chris M.:

today's official topic is: what is your favorite adam sandler movie? sorry, you can only choose one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Ken From Hyde Park:

Imaginary Radio >===> Rigid Mayoan Air
Avatar 10:11am bobdoesthings:

happy madison
Avatar 10:12am northguineahills:

In all of my years listening to WFMU (and other music, I don't think I've ever heard Mauritian music before, I dig!
Avatar 10:12am Wild Neil:

Airheads. Its an awesome movie! SO stupidly over the top.
  10:13am Polyus:

I can't pick a favorite Sandler movie. No, I mean I really can't.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am coelacanth:

i cannot either. i probably have seen one though. (?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am Ken From Hyde Park:

I've only seen one Adam Sandler movie, so my vote is for that: Pixels.
Avatar 10:15am bobdoesthings:

@northguineahills - cant be true.. I know Trouble plays a few things from mauritania.. I think Noura Mint Seymali is from Mauritania and I know she's gotten a bunch of plays
  10:15am Brendan:

Wedding Singer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am coelacanth:

i did want to see "wedding singer".
Avatar 10:17am βrian:

Have a listen to Mauritania here:
  10:18am Brendan:

Alot of ridiculously funny/bad '80s resets in that one.
  10:19am SeanG:

punch drunk love
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am coelacanth:

this i can sink my fangs into.
Avatar 10:21am βrian:

Ach, sorry. Here:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am coelacanth:

i like that site.
Avatar 10:22am βrian:

Someone or something is resetting the URL.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23am coelacanth:

...and that one.
Avatar 10:23am Chris M.:

@βrian: i think it's an automatic spam filter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am Ken From Hyde Park:

I guess just Google "radio Mauritius" at a convenient time.
Avatar 10:26am βrian:

Oy, the WFMU website has quite the litany of ills.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am coelacanth:

it's ://wfmu.org/ with http in front.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am coelacanth:

i don't think it's an ill. i think it's a very un-pragmatic,poorly thought-out control plan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am coelacanth:

(actually i just proved that!)
Avatar 10:29am Chris M.:

maybe try to send the url in a private message through the friendship society
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am coelacanth:

yeh, not in wfmu's best interest to do this.
Avatar 10:32am Wild Neil:

@Chris M-what is the Friendship Society? Is that on your home page or somewhere else?
Avatar 10:32am Chris M.:

@Wild Neil: click on your profile page
  10:33am Brendan:

Pew pew pew!
Avatar 10:34am bobdoesthings:

@wildneil - "friendship society" is WFMU's broad term for the whole online forum/coments/profiles and avatars..
  10:35am Brendan:

Love laser sounds
Avatar 10:35am Chris M.:

@bobdoesthings: do you know who came up with that name?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36am coelacanth:

the quakers?
  10:36am Wild Neil:

@Chris M. -I went to YOUR profile and clicked on "contact". I assume that's it. I went to mine and tried hitting contact and it wanted me to login again so I did not since I AM logged in and did not want to enter a parallel universe.
Avatar 10:38am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Much more interesting: life in a perpendicular universe.
Avatar 10:41am Wild Neil:

Intentionally left blank.
Avatar 10:41am Wild Neil:

@Chester-I think "Life in a Perpendicular Universe" would be an awesome album title. You should use it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am coelacanth:

a palindomical paralleliverse.
Avatar 10:45am Rev. Turnip Druid:

sounds dangerous...
....also, digging the old IC label sound. Abstract & brittle. As a good breakfast should be.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Greg from ZONE 5:

Morning, gang! Sorry I'm late.
Avatar 10:54am Rev. Turnip Druid:

This will reflect poorly upon your performance review, Greg.
  10:58am Brendan:

She mighta had a yeast thing going on
Avatar 10:59am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Becoming bread? I'll be a fresh onion kulcha. Oh hell yes. ... suddenly insanely hungry.
Avatar 10:59am bobdoesthings:

@chris M @10:35 - hmmm nope who came up with that name, do you know?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am DreamCricket:

Avatar 11:00am bobdoesthings:

sourdough! with cream cheese... do I get to pick a topping?
Avatar 11:01am βrian:

My fallback is Malai Kofta Kashmiri. High notes of cardamom and chili, tempered by cream and the sweet of the raisins ...
  11:02am Polyus:

I am the Lebanese flat bread they have at Holy Land deli. Really awesome for a couple of. days, but I get stale fast.
Avatar 11:02am Chris M.:

@bobdoesthings: hint: it was me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Ken From Hyde Park:

Whatever bread recipe my dear mother baked when we were kids. It was just regular bread, but it smelled and tasted wonderful.
  11:08am Brendan:

Oh delicious Bread, Baby I'm a Want You
Avatar 11:08am Wild Neil:

My wife makes the most amazing bread from simple ingredients in the oven. Wow. No bread making machine needed.
Avatar 11:09am bobdoesthings:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Cliff:
