Avatar 9:12pm JakeGould:

Is “Humble Pie” a punch in the face or the awareness of one being humble?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm melinda:

This is great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14pm melinda:

Oh, they did Fly Robin Fly...no wonder.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm chris_in_space:

@melinda, I thought Silver Convention sounded familiar. Fly Robin Fly indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm efd:

Avatar 9:26pm coelacanth:

Avatar 9:26pm Marc Francis:

So good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Mark the Sardine:

Avatar 9:26pm FernandoBelmondo:

Hello @efd @Todd-o-phonic and everybody else! All I need is some good rocknroll for this ash wednesday and the first set hit the spot.
Avatar 9:29pm coelacanth:

melinda it's a sample of some rapper (i couldn't tell you) sampling "american woman" by the guess who.
so, a sample of a sample.
Avatar 9:29pm JakeGould:

@melinda: It’s an instrumental remix (I believe) of “Saturday Night Fever” by Lordz of Brooklyn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm efd:

Thanks for stepping in, Jake and coel! Melinda, there's the answer to your question.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm melinda:

coelecanth I do hear some American Woman there, now that you mention it.
Avatar 9:34pm coelacanth:

okay, so put all that info together and there's your answer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm melinda:

Avatar 9:36pm coelacanth:

ha! ....severe lag-time here!
Avatar 9:36pm JakeGould:

@coelacanth: Maybe you are suffering from opioid induced constipation?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm chris_in_space:

This Sunshine and the Rain track is a home run if I ever heard one
Avatar 9:38pm coelacanth:

Jake, lemme think.
...my computer though...
Avatar 9:40pm coelacanth:

actually i'm moving many boxes of records and walking past the laptop on each trip back and forth.
(hence my comment @9:26 when Evan said "either sitting in front of a computer or listening to the radio.)
  9:44pm nardo:

Avatar 9:46pm Todd-o-phonic:

@Folsom: I have to recuse myself from answering your question!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Who's thinking Karen O w/ the Massenger? Great.
Bowie Forever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm Mike Sin:

Dunno what's happening up in the ionosphere tonight, but... I was receiving the broadcast signal on the car radio all the way down to East Windsor, NJ tonight... Anyway, re: "Diamond Dogs" -- I always felt Bowie could have stated that the Rolling Stones were backing him on this track, and it would have been totally believable.
Avatar 10:06pm coelacanth:

yes. let it bleed era.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

He always got such amazing sound.
Avatar 10:08pm coelacanth:

(i should've put a "?" after that.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm efd:

shout-out to Mike Sin for giving a shout-out to the ionosphere!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm efd:

btw Sunshine & The Rain fans, they'll be playing downstairs at WFMU's Monty Hall on Saturday Feb 20 along with Rye Coalition and Life Eaters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Ike:

Re: Todd's comment@10:03, I don't know all the FMU rules but aren't youse DJs allowed to promote your stuff in the comments if it's not your own show? No?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm chris_in_space:

just bought Sunshine and the Rain's 7".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm TR In MI:

Keep on Spacin' !
Avatar 10:15pm Aharon:

Great song! If you're playing this now can't imagine what you've got for the ticket giveaway.
Avatar 10:16pm JakeGould:

@Ike: Maybe if we all give andy Breckman’s kid a bottle of soda and some chips he can make a “Todd Recommends” website.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Folsom:

@ike A Ponderosa Stonp DJ web page would be cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm efd:

thanks KenfHP!
  10:56pm eric:

Game Theory sounding great!
Avatar 11:01pm JakeGould:

The way that Facebook buries pages and how blogs have disappeared it almost seems like printing up zines and mailing them might be a more effective way to market things.
Avatar 11:23pm JakeGould:

Twisted Sister!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26pm Stevel:

I wish they'd just tell us what they want to do.
Avatar 11:27pm JakeGould:

That would be a cool compilation: What rock bands want to do versus what they don’t want to do versus what they don’t care about.
  11:30pm KP:

Wow wow wow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Stevel:

  11:33pm Sybil:

I'm just so sad about Maurice White. I can't...

s you yearnn, so you learn. As I said in a long-ago pice dedicated to the one I love. I mean, dedicated to Julian Tavarez.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm chris_in_space:

True dat Jake. BTW you have a new friend here @wfmu and on Twitter.
  11:36pm Sybil:

Thank you for remembering EW&F, and David Bowie, and all we've lost, which, please, stop now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm efd:

ha... hi Sybil, yeah, such a shame about Maurice White. He was one of the greats.
  11:38pm Sybil:

@EFD: Checking in a bit late today, will have to catch up on the first half of the show on the archives. Ratcat!
@T.O.P. Todd: Ratcat play the '90s revival circuit these days, if you want to book them for NY/NJ shows.
@Steve: Had to leave early last week so I missed your shout out. Hey!

  11:52pm Eddy in Australia:

@EFD: Yep, from Sydney. Search out their version of "I Think We're Alone Now" - I think you'll like it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56pm chris_in_space:

@jakegould I could say we met through efd's show, but every time I log in to my favourite FMU shows, there you are, every time.
  11:57pm Sybil:
