Yeah, well, this is my "I feel like shit" show - sorry Dave! - so we are going to be doing some not so inspired rockin' plus some maybe inspired doom -
  Mon. 2/8/16 9:08pm Martha:

Also, if anyone out there knows where the Drear/Great American Desert comp is filed here, please let me know -
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/8/16 9:09pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hey there, Martha! How goes it? You're probably going to hear a lot of crazy talk about Angelwitch, kale and maybe some questions about police blotters. Keep driving; it's par for the course in this time slot.
  Mon. 2/8/16 9:09pm Dave Sustain:

But rock!!! Martha

"Vihaan vitusi kaikkea mita kulutusyhteiskuunan aikaansaama pinnallinen alkoholiin perustuva sosiaalinen kayttatymiskulttuuri edustaa" iis one of my personal faves!

  Mon. 2/8/16 9:25pm Martha:

It's going to go psych-y then doom-y for a bi - than perhaps this thing they now call "punk rock" -

Yep - actually my fave record of their's - just reissued -
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 9:41pm coelacanth:

whenever Sue P plays Scientists it reminds me of the person i went out with in the late '90s who turned me on to it; when Martha plays it it reminds me of Sue P.
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 9:42pm SiHV:

Yay Martha!
  Mon. 2/8/16 9:44pm ?:

"Desechable" means "disposable"!

"Golpe Tras Golpe" is "Hit After Hit", but hits like punches, not hits like bandstand.

  Mon. 2/8/16 10:20pm P-90:

OK, Dave H. Would def approve of this.
  Mon. 2/8/16 10:23pm Martha:

@SiHV - din't think FM was your kinda 'thing' -
  Mon. 2/8/16 10:25pm HipsterBlackMetal:

Where is DAVE? Is he hanging out with Phil trying to figure out a FINAL SOLUTION?
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 10:26pm SiHV:

It's not all doom and black metal. And I appreciate a good curveball.
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 10:29pm SiHV:

Although I will say I listened to "Come My Fanatics" for the first time in maybe two years while preparing lentil soup yesterday. Man, what a great record.

Thanks guys for the info - v. helpful - and I have to do more work listening to the FM records - also, I have zero idea where Dave is, I just hope he isn't listening -
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 10:41pm SiHV:

Gog, also good. He hasn't put out a new album in a bit, I wonder if he's still active? Turning in, will catch the rest on the archive.
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 10:43pm slugluv1313:

loving the GOG
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 10:46pm Polyus:

Oh man this is cool.
  Mon. 2/8/16 10:51pm Martha:

Hey - thanks for checking in - no Gog hasn't put out anything new in a while and his more recent stuff is quite different =- more "trad" metally - if I can say something like that - which is an oxymoron -
  Mon. 2/8/16 10:51pm Martha:

Glad you guys are liking it -
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/8/16 11:02pm Julie:

I never understood the comma between it and black
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:02pm KP:

Paint It Deep Purple.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:03pm HipsterBlackMetal:

So did rolling stones cover this or vice versa?
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 11:03pm Polyus:

Ian Paice, Superstar
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:06pm HipsterBlackMetal:

The comma is racist
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:06pm Martha:

Oh - it's the Stones - and I have no idea about that comma, except I like it -
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 11:07pm coelacanth:

Paint it!...BLACK!
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:08pm Mark R.:

I think it was a mistake their label made, but it stuck. And a lot of people, like Martha, seemed to dig it.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:10pm jon:

feelin gratitude any time martha is on. thnx for the deep purple
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 11:11pm khd:

good shit x 2
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:11pm P-90:

"Black", as in redone in a Metal style. And with a drum solo that's just a wee bit too short. IMO.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:14pm Mark R.:

The Screaming Abdabs is a new record, huh? You actually could have told me it was from any year including this one and I'd believe you.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:14pm P-90:

Cool! Another "out" Stones cover...and new to me
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:24pm KP:

Teenage Knockouts rock out
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 11:25pm ottovonbqe:

ah catholic school girls
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:29pm Martha:

Screaming Abdabs - from ?1980? - not new but a new issue so I marked it that way -
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:30pm Martha:

@MR: makes sense to me. That recording is one of the greatest sounding records of all time - great to listen to through headphones in the dark -
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 11:33pm coelacanth:

we finally got some snow up here. i'm going for a walk.
Thanks Martha.
ciao folks.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:35pm Mark R.:

Elias Hulk were from UK.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:38pm P-90:

Ha! Funny, I was casually guessing '79-'80 for the Abdabs track.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:38pm Mark R.:

It looks like Elias Hulk released an EP in 2012 (according to their website).
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:39pm P-90:

Only his Mom calls Dave "Goddamn David Hill".
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:41pm Martha:

1) Screaming A's recorded live in 1978, from Australi - great record;
2) Elias Hulk ~ from the UK; and
3) Sorry DAVID!; and
4) Thanks guys for all the info and help and comments, etc. - very much appreciated -

Martha, who did you say put out that Deep Purple thing? Can't seem to find it online.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:45pm Martha:

Well, pretty much FUCKED THAT UP - but now we are back w/ M. of Urns - thank Christ -
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:46pm Martha:

Depp Purple: released by Seidr, which I believe is a French label that does a lot of older re-issues (like Soggy) -
Avatar Mon. 2/8/16 11:56pm ottovonbqe:

that went by fast
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:57pm Martha:

Thanks all for checking in - I had a great time - hope to be on here again soon -
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:57pm Mark R.:

Looks like there's also a double live Deep Purple album called "Scandinavian Nights" on a label called Connoisseur Collection--a 1970 gig that was recorded for radio but not released until 1988.
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:58pm Mark R.:

It has "Paint It, Black" on it, so it's probably the same recording. Could find no info online about Seidr records or an album called "Space"!
  Mon. 2/8/16 11:59pm Martha:

@MR - interesting - have to check that out - am really loving that CD - once I got our of my somewhat endless HC/punk rock days - thanks for all your comments - very helpful- and thanks to everyone else too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 2/9/16 12:01am Tome:

been wonderful once again Martha !
  Tue. 2/9/16 12:01am P-90:

Thanks, come back soon!
Avatar Tue. 2/9/16 6:15pm SiHV:

From the archive! That Gog track is suffocating, and yeah his more reverby drone stuff is probably better than the recent metal stuff....although that's pretty good too. Thanks for finishing with MoU. Weekly show again, please.
