Avatar 12:06pm Cheri Pi:

Hello hooray is still woozy-inducing as ever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm chris:

Avatar 12:07pm Cecile:

I did not know that Judy Collins did this song first
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm redkayak:

Howdy all :)
Avatar 12:08pm Cheri Pi:

I'm not familiar with fantasy literature so their name always throws me for a loop. Fantasy metal on the other hand...

Avatar 12:48pm Cheri Pi:

I'm at abought 90,000 miles myself, replacing and refreshing what parts I can afford to at the moment.
Avatar 12:49pm V Priceless:

I need a new timing belt
  12:50pm CP:

Yeah, the wheels start coming off too early. Left my Wheaties in the freezer not long ago.
Avatar 12:50pm Cheri Pi:

my tendon sheaths and blower motor are on the fritz.
Avatar 12:51pm V Priceless:

correction....space-time belt...nice blackfinger cut!
  12:52pm Dean:

Gotta 15% discount coupon for a local record store. What record should I buy?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm coelacanth:

Muerte. (but you can get that on bandcamp)
Avatar 12:53pm V Priceless:

@Dean: blackstar, if you haven't already
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm coelacanth:

i hope to outlast my last car, which was still salvageable at >340,000 mi.
...but - not likely.
  12:55pm Dean:

Hmmm, Bowie... That's not a bad idea.
Avatar 12:56pm Cheri Pi:

off to a mind numbing 1.5 hour meeting, ttfn
Avatar 12:56pm Cecile:

I would buy the reissue of Hunting Lodge's Will if you have a record player
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm coelacanth:

yeah i was about to say that too. ★
Avatar 12:56pm Cecile:

have fun, pi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm coelacanth:

(or,i should say ☆.)
Avatar 12:58pm Doctor Rembrandt:

Good show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm coelacanth:

...or any vintage king crimson that's not in your collection. that's not available via bandcamp or snotify.
Avatar 1:00pm Cecile:

THIS. Crimso on vinyl or those reissue live discs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm coelacanth:

(nor is early Eno.)
  1:01pm Dean:

Hunting Lodge? Alas, n/a in the store's inventory, but discogs associates them with early SPK, a good thing. Must seek out. Oh, yes, I have a turntable, the same one since 1983. It needs a timing belt, etc., but that's take serious coin.

I used to have Crimson LPs, but wearied of them. I love Red and Starless, but Wetton puts me off. However, a buddy of mine supplied two or three decent old bootlegs that do the trick.
  1:02pm Dean:

Sorry, lotsa "buts" and screwy grammar.
Avatar 1:02pm V Priceless:

@ Dean: if they have any Eno records, any of the first four are just fab....I recall you saying your Eno was low.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm coelacanth:

i didn't like Wetton's voice at first, but got used to it; and his lyrics are usually good.
still my favorite CK era.
Avatar 1:04pm Cecile:

same here.
  1:04pm Dean:

Yeah, VP, thank you. I'm not an Eno fan, either! I adore "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts," but otherwise don't listen to Eno or Byrne. I know, contrarian.
Avatar 1:04pm Cecile:

Christ! Eric you are hilarious. Deep voice, high vocals. awesome.
Avatar 1:05pm Cecile:

And you sound like one of my in-laws
Avatar 1:05pm V Priceless:

First off: Congrats to Eric Wagner for NOT DYING!
  1:05pm bill:

that was an iggy tune wunnit?
Avatar 1:05pm Cecile:

I don't like byrne, but I have become quite the Eno fan.
Avatar 1:10pm Cecile:

Pittsburgh is a great food town. What's Eric's favorite dish there if he's an eater?
Avatar 1:11pm V Priceless:

haha...taken within the context of recent R & R events, of course....
Avatar 1:13pm Cecile:

it's simple. It's not easy.
  1:14pm Dean:

"Here" being...the USA?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm coelacanth:

i completely agree with him on facadebook.
Avatar 1:15pm Cecile:

fries on everything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm coelacanth:

i do use it to keep up on certain things/people, even though i don't make my presence known.
Avatar 1:18pm V Priceless:

right on, DK. Well said about the DB / FB thing. One of the few times I've found it to be a useful conduit for a genuinely meaningful experience.
fishy: send me a faceborg friend request, bro!
  1:19pm Dean:

Does Eric still smoke? Does it help or hurt his vocals? Helluva baritone there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm coelacanth:

Cecile i was i Love with Eno from the first moment (maybe because it was "here come the warm jets" and i was tripping!) - but Byrne- though i respect him, his singing annoys me too much!
...the first 4 talking heads records were good though.
  1:21pm Dean:

I like "Here He Comes" on Before & After Science.
  1:21pm Polyus:

Me three! Only time I saw Black Sabbath.
Avatar 1:22pm Cecile:

Yeah, I feel that way about Paula Scher a lot, Eric.
Avatar 1:22pm Cecile:

I saw Sabbath with Dio, and that was a treasure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm coelacanth:

ha! he's smoking right now!
Avatar 1:25pm Cecile:

hey, baby steps!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm coelacanth:

(i smoke sometimes when i drink.)
  1:26pm Tom L.:

Born Again OVERLOOKED?! By who?!?!! Not me or anyone I know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm chris:

(i still miss smoking goddammit)
Avatar 1:27pm Cecile:

overlooked by pundits and casual fans, Tom L.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm coelacanth:

this is not overplayed in this context.
Avatar 1:28pm Cecile:

I wish I was a smoker. You can quit smoking. You can't quit eating. :(
  1:29pm Dean:

Reminds me of Lemmy's funeral, where his buddies commented he was a big Beatles and ABBA fan. Was at a beer bar a couple nights ago where a 23YO guy played some real nice blues guitar, then asked the audience to request ANY Beatles tune. The request was for a tune contemporary w/ "Nowhere Man," but I wanted to ask for "Flying."
  1:29pm Polyus:

Great choice by Eric. AM car radio memories.
  1:30pm Tom L.:

And who the fuck cares about pundits and casual fans??. WAIT! I AM A PUNDIT! And I'm deaf to casual Sabbath fans so it doesn't matter.
Avatar 1:30pm Cecile:

That's the spirit, Tom!
Avatar 1:31pm V Priceless:

Avatar 1:31pm Cecile:

Both me and my friend have had Starman going through our heads this whole 2 weeks. I took her out for dinner. I knew the manager and his iPod, and I asked him for Bowie. He played 2 hours worth!
Avatar 1:32pm Cecile:

Dean, I love Lemmy because he worshipped Buddy Holly. Who could deny that?
  1:35pm Dean:

Lemmy is one of a few these days who can worship Buddy Holly and not seem just gratuitously retro. Come to think of it, I once worked at a record store managed by a guy named Lenny who worshipped Buddy Holly, too.
Avatar 1:36pm V Priceless:

abowie, Eric, abowie
  1:38pm Dean:

Library cards are dangerous. Habit forming.
Avatar 1:38pm Cecile:

The Martian was good
  1:40pm SeanG:

Carol was good too
  1:48pm Polyus:

Gillan still had his congas onstage with Sabbath, which is awesome in a ridiculous way.
  1:51pm Mark R.:

Yes! The Skull! Arrrghhh!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm chris:

so friggin' great
Avatar 2:04pm V Priceless:

Great interview.
Avatar 2:52pm V Priceless:

thanks for a swell, show Diane. Cheerio
  2:56pm Dean:

Fast Cars, a nice blast from the past. The Boys' "Brickfield Nights" would go well with this.
Avatar 2:57pm Doctor Rembrandt:

Diane, thanks for the songs. Have a good week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm chris:

Thanks, DK!
Avatar 3:09pm Cecile:
