Though WP sez: "In the late 1970s while performing at Club 57, The Mudd Club, The Pyramid Club, and other venues, Nomi assembled a group of up-and-coming models, singers, artists, and musicians to perform live with him, which at times included Joey Arias, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, John Sex and Kenny Scharf.[7] He also appeared on Manhattan Cable's TV Party. David Bowie heard about Nomi's performances in New York and soon met him and Joey Arias at the Mudd Club. FMU has been invaluable this week. I mean, it always is, but this week especially. So many different takes on B's legacy.

Parq I agree, love hearing the different takes and stuff new to me, including the fake Bowies.

As testaments to both Bowie and WFMU, of all of the Bowie shows that have aired this week, they've all been rather unique and wonderful. Even Spider From Mars and long-time Bowie band member, Mike Garson called in and chatted with Dave Hill for 20-30 minutes.

I find only one poem that refers explicitly to David Bowie. It is Jeremy Reed's "David Bowie," from his 1994 book, "Pop Stars."

@VP: Read today that Bowie called Visconti shortly before his death to report ongoing work on a new record. No idea whether he'd begun to record anything.
