Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Becky. Did you have a Honky Tonk New Year?
Avatar 8:09pm Becky:

Hey, Ken. I spent NYE at a soul dance party in Milwaukee, hosted by Mr. Fine Wine. Madness.
Avatar 8:09pm Davee:

And Nate Cole
Avatar 8:15pm Todd-o-phonic:

Hope the dance party was at The Safehouse!
Avatar 8:16pm Becky:

@Todd: An overly friendly (read: Midwestern) cabbie told us about that spot. It sounded too interactive for a distinguished gent like Mr. Fine Wine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Becky - I'll bet that was a blast. I hung out with my kids at home and listened to Dave the Spazz's show.
Avatar 8:24pm mariano:

That sounds like a blast! I spent my New Year's Eve in a dive bar in Shreveport, La, watching an amazing Louisiana reggae band, though it's much more of a honky tonk town.
Avatar 8:25pm Becky:

Wow, @mariano, that sounds weird and great.
Avatar 8:30pm Mailman Tom:

I listened closely, but I didn't hear the blooper in the Ernest Tubb song !
Avatar 8:31pm Becky:

@Mailman Tom One of the backup singers didn't do his homework.
Avatar 8:37pm mariano:

Young Willie! Yeeeee-hawww!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm Alex of Chicago:

I thought it was Rich or Jones at first.
Avatar 8:40pm Becky:

@mariano He really had a lock on the sob in your beer song back then. The best (if highly, highly depressing).
  8:40pm Tommy:

I'm diggin this , big time
Avatar 8:40pm Mailman Tom:

Gene Moss recorded a Halloween album called Dracula's Hits, and it contained a big blooper by a back up singer. I didn't pick up on it until the 2nd spin !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Oh man - hearing 'Gotta Travel On' gives me that twinge I get now & then these days: used to hear some version of it once in a while back in the 20thCentury - & you know kids these days wouldn't know it from anything...
Avatar 8:46pm Kevlicki:

I'm really enjoying this honky tonk show in the wfmu rotation. Thanks Becky
Avatar 8:47pm mariano:

@becky: I remember seeing a picture of Willie at the Louisiana Hayride, from the early 60s -- so weird to see him all clean-cut and in a suit!
Avatar 8:51pm Becky:

@mariano Those outlaw guys really changed it up in the looks department. Johnny Paycheck is another one.
  8:58pm Brenda:

Thank you Becky!
Avatar 8:59pm mariano:

Thank you ma'am!
