Options Brian Turner: Playlist from December 15, 2015 Options

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Avatar 4:23pm steve:

Avatar 4:25pm steve:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Carmichael:

John Bettis co-wrote this, along with about 100 more songs of that era.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm paul b:

Is it just me or does something about that Grauzone song sound like that Elliott Smith song?
  4:43pm kiemzi:

paul mccartney sounds different
  4:44pm marc15:

I just had nice memory. You mentioned the babd, Four Non Blondes. My boyfriend in the 1990s hated that song "What's Up", but I loved the song. I used to blast the song whenever it came on the car radio. He'd end up singing it with me anyway
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm alan from sacto:

I think I've decided on Kotsen to listen to in preparation for my annual evaluation.
  4:44pm kiemzi:

like, is he goin thru some stuff?
Avatar 4:45pm Brian Turner:

  4:46pm Kleigh Bellz:

Avatar 4:50pm slugluv1313:

PERFECT stress relief!!! (i think i get where you are coming from, alan from sacto!)
  4:50pm Roy:

That 4-Non Blondes song is a scourge on humanity's buttock. But, I am a very cranky man in his late-50's.
Avatar 4:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...stoo-pid errands done ; back to cultural artifacts of great antisocial significance...
Avatar 4:51pm Lopez:

Kleigh; I agree on the Sonic Youth cover. I was jealous of my friend who got that 7" box set when it first came out
Avatar 4:52pm slugluv1313:

just did a search for KOTSEN -- found a buncha images of people puking! so apparently means sick/barfing/vomiting/etc. in German -- EXCELLENT!
Avatar 4:53pm Cheri Pi:

this last set smokes
  4:55pm Kleigh:

Kotsen. I remember that name from Poison. I think he replaced Blues Saraceno, who replaced CC DeVille. Richie Kotsen. Or, Kotzen. Important!
Avatar 4:58pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

White Hills ! I saw them in a school cafeteria in Amherst, MA (I don't get to see a lot of stuff). They were just this heavy Live.
  4:59pm True!:

My friend peed red and called the hospital. Then he recalled that he had eaten beets.
Avatar 4:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

If you drink the blue trick soda you'll crap green & think you're extruding yer liver outcher bum.
Avatar 5:01pm Brian Turner:

  5:03pm Response #1:

Rev ... total prolapse!
Avatar 5:04pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...some artist served a drink that changed the color of his high-class patrons' pee unexpectedly as a statement @ his opening - but it doesn't Google right up...
Avatar 5:05pm TDK60:

This sounds psychedelic, eh?
  5:06pm Modern Man:

If it doesn't Google right up, how is one supposed to believe it? I mean really.
  5:12pm northend dude:
