hey Fabio! Did you catch either of the local Rocket From The Tombs gigs? Whoa! Cathartic!

I was indeed! My brother and I got a picture with Crocus Behemoth. His line of the night: "My body may be broken, but my mind is SHARP AS FUCK."

Far-out!
Did I dream that last track?

How old is this Seazer? I hear Yoko influence or other way around. Hi Fab! How much do you weigh?

@ Greg - classic! I chatted w/him briefy after the show - told him that I was at an old Ubu gig on LI, December of '81 or '82....Malibu Nite Club...deemed by him as the worst gig in Ubu history, because the club pulled the plug on their brilliant set after about a half hour.....on the way home, driving my sister's old Mercury Meteor (!), the engine seized, leaving us cold and stranded on the Meadowbrook Parkway in the middle of the night...he laughed and said 'So the night was a complete success all around then!" Haha!

I used to feel the same way .Then I got addicted to FB..it a real time waster....I need help

Haven't lifted a finger to get back on FB after being kicked off for using an alias. Three-ish weeks after being detached from the hive... 'tis nice.

Yay from me too (for this)
  3:57pm
Petula:

Luke Burbank (host of Live Wire on NPR) called FB "the suburbs of the internet". I love that. I'm not sure if he came up with that or not. It is programmed to tap into our desire for social approval. Ick.
Avatar 3:59pm

Thank you for these lovely tones, Fabio! I'm usually on the playlist, but don't often chat!

That's some Paul Horn/Alice Coltrane turf there, Fab with that temple stuff.

Clay:

Recorded in the rec room at the Taj Mahal.
  4:01pm
Tonald Drump:

Yeah, same as fox. Listen often and never chat, but your show is always the vibe i need on thursday afternoons. I had to broadcast that Ash Ra Tempel to the whole office it was so perfect. thanks always!

Rev, they kicked you off for using an alias? Ugh. Another reason I post on Twitter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

X. Ray Burns mentioned once that they fussed at him about his alias. I forget the outcome. He might be on it with his given name.
  4:11pm
nEIL cOMMA wILD:

I use Facebook as an exercise in NOT communicating my real political views in order to remain more neutral. So far, my experiement is succeeding. I basically "like" Star Trek stuff and cool animal videos...
  4:12pm
nEIL cOMMA wILD:

Shortwave! How cool is that?
  4:13pm
Listener Robert:

Well, that dates this recording to at least about 45 yrs. ago, when WWV anmts switched from GMT to CUT (Z).
  4:14pm
Clay:

Facebook? Yes, I use it to max-marketize/monitize the dusty experience. Twitter, Pinterest, Myspace, Soundcloud, smoke signals, flyers, street teams, yes. Fully engaged. I rarely post on the accu-playlist however as I need to retain street cred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

Lovin it Fabio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm
Greg from ZONE 5:

Nonsense! You should chime in more often, CP!
  4:17pm
Listener Robert:

What counts as an alias on FB? I was put in charge of the Balder Rising FB acc't after Robert Blumetti got tired of operating it. Balder Rising's the name of a pagan church. Then I also my own under my own name because "everybody's got to be on" FB.
  4:20pm
Listener Robert:

Anybody's code here fast enough to read that?
  4:21pm
Clay:

Flash mobs, jet flyovers, cold calls ...

@Cecile 4:07 - yep, my twitter activity has increased since getting kicked off FB. I usually use twitter as a dumping-ground for verbal dada goop, but more lucid stuff is creeping in. Might have to revise the mission statement.

that Hitchcock movie sounds cool...the book went back into print (this week!) which is great, because online booksellers only had used copies (last couple times I checked) and they were priced at $200 and up...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm

unless I failed at book searching online, anyway. I could only find pricey used copies until this week.

Avatar 4:53pm

If I weren't a chronically ill person without a car, I'd probably post on social media far less. Out of necessity, it makes up most of my social interaction, which is unfortunate.

RTD: Miss you on faceborg. You should register as a Biz w/ the Biz name. That was one thing I liked about MySpace - is it was full of fictional profiles...Understand Zuckerbird doesn't want dead profiles but an actual social network - but some middle ground shouldn't be that hard w/ all those billions he has...ah well...

Good call, Fabio. Although there is some speculation that Gutenberg might not have been the true inventor. For a fascinating related story, see Alan Stevenson's "Problem of the Missale Speciale," a page-turner (heh heh) of bibliographic history.
Avatar 5:46pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Rabbit: towards the end, FB was mostly just good for generating blinding rage against the world. I think the "artist page" option limits the interaction abilities (commenting etc) -- could be different now, not sure..
