Hey, P
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30am Īke:

Rambutans look interesting, but they're pretty much just lychees on the inside.
Avatar 3:32am Jeff Conklin:

I didn't know a rambutan was a thing, Ike
Avatar 4:09am pierre:

Bonjour Jeff, long time no hear !
Is everything ok, did you get coffee ?
Avatar 4:10am Jeff Conklin:

Everything's great, Pierre. Good morning..
  4:13am mauri:

good morning.
  4:14am Ike:

Tropical fruits are cool. Well, some are, and some just look interesting. You can find rambutans, lychees, dragonfruit, durian, mangosteen, etc. sold on the street in Chinatown when in season. First two look wildly different on the outside but have similar translucent flesh on the inside. Got to sleep now, g'night!
Avatar 4:15am Jeff Conklin:

Thanks, Ike! Night
  4:38am mauri:

This is great!
Avatar 4:39am pierre:

great show (as ever) Jeff. Always kick starts my Monday morning off at the Paradiso in Amsterdam in great style
Avatar 5:09am Jeff Conklin:

aw thanks, Ajay! That's a music venue, yes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10am pacific standard simon:

Is the Paradiso in Amsterdam still a going thing? Legendary.
  5:14am Mara:

Buenos días. ♡
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am pacific standard simon:

Hmm, never heard of David Wiffen, but it seems that the internet HAS. Like.
Avatar 5:16am Jeff Conklin:

Morning, Mara ;)
  5:22am Ajay:

yup the Paradiso is a music venue here in Amsterdam. Going strong since 1967. We had Patti Smith and Yo La tango pass through our doors last week.... ;-)
keep up the good work WFMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am pacific standard simon:

The Paradiso got a shout-out from Frank Zappa, on a bootleg from 1971, as a good place to get some nookie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42am joeray:

@pacific standard simon: Ah, the rare Zappa reference on WFMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43am pacific standard simon:

Digging into the David Wiffen story, he reminds me of Nick Drake -- but he's still with us, although not really productive these days. The story's not finished, maybe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am joeray:

Thanks for another great show, Jeff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am pacific standard simon:

@joeray - You can bet that if I had a show, there would be a Zappa reference on nearly every episode.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49am joeray:

@pacific standard simon: me too!!! Actually, I do, unfortunately, it's not on WFMU.
  5:51am Lunch:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am pacific standard simon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am pacific standard simon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am joeray:

Stumbled on your show via three lobed. Really digging it. Any chance you can play some more from Parallellogram? Namely the Gunn/Vile collab?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am joeray:

@pacific standard simon: Sorry, no archives there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Santos L. Halper:

Hi Jeff. Just now finishing LAST week's show, but had to chime in sometime, as i'm never up live. The Avant Ghetto is a bright young galaxy in the FMUniverse. One of the most consistently great shows around; nuff said. Thanks and see you in the archive : )
