Favoriting November 3, 2015: Tape Op's LARRY CRANE (on Recording Soundtracks)
Tape Op editor Larry Crane guests on Morricone Island this Tuesday. Recent Tape Op Issue No. 107 focused on the recording of soundtracks including interviews with composer/music supervisor Brian Reitzell, recording/mixing engineer John Rodd and filmmaker Denny Tedesco on The Wrecking Crew documentary. Larry famously recorded Elliott Smith's "Miss Misery" which received a Best Original Song Oscar nomination for its later appearance in the closing credits of 1997's Good Will Hunting. The last time Larry visited WFMU, it was 1992 when DJ Gerard Cosloy invited his band Vomit Launch on his show at the old East Orange studio.
