A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Avatar 9:13am Trouble:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am sugarwerewolf:

ooops, I better take off my costume!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Andrew Waterloo:

34 CDs sounds a bit intimidating.
  9:19am paul:

Especially for only 16 years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Adrian in London:

Ha, last week my clocks went back but i was not foiled. This week yours have and I'm still on top of things! Present and correct!

  9:43am r i s k y:

@Trouble agreed, I'd love to just dig through those boxes of tapes and rough mixes he made over the years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Adrian in London:

Looks like the Herbie Hancock box is about $150
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Andrew Waterloo:

Hope your election day was as good as ours.

  10:19am Kevlicki:

Morning Trouble and WFMU-land.

@trouble, are you familiar with the Howl Arts Collective, up in Montreal?
They're a group of radical musicians and cultural workers making some great releases.
Nice Screenprinted covers and such.
I think you may like their project and music!
Avatar 10:25am Trouble:

that sounds cool @kevlicki, will look that up> i love suggestions!
Avatar 10:26am Marc Francis:

I think you might have listed the wrong Mike Krol song?
Avatar 10:29am Claw!:

Good morning, All!
Avatar 10:30am Trouble:

@marc francis: which one do you think it should be? album cover is less than clear...
Avatar 10:31am Trouble:

i see; la la la
Avatar 10:31am Marc Francis:

Mike Krol - La La La
Avatar 10:32am Marc Francis:

Both are great. Less Than Together sounds like La La La without the la la la's...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Greg from ZONE 5:

Morning, all!
Avatar 10:38am chromaphone:

It's like Zoe Keating with less angst
Avatar 10:40am βrian:

But angst is my favorite condiment. I have it on grilled cheese.
Avatar 10:42am chromaphone:

I dunno, I think what Keating does is amazing but I usually don't actually feel like listening to it. Maybe I should listen while eating grilled cheese...
  10:51am Mark R.:

Trouble you always play such cool music, most of it by artists I'm not familiar with. That's quintessential FMU programming, I guess. Always enjoy your show and today is no exception.
Avatar 10:53am Trouble:

merci @mark R!!!
Avatar 10:53am Trouble:

this is pure wonderfulness if you are a fan of the burning ship of HMS chris christie:www.nytimes.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am KRYPT:

Ahh, Hauntology, what a genre :)
  10:59am Mark R.:

Trouble, it seems to me that an intelligent opponent could run for governor and make something of A) His actual record and B) the fact that he's abandoned the state of New Jersey to engage in a Quixotic quest for the presidency, which he hasn't a chance in hell of winning. But I don't want to start a whole thing during your very pleasant music program.
  11:00am Mark R.:

Besides, you don't get that many opportunities to use the word "quixotic."
Avatar 11:02am bobdoesthings:

this is pre-liquid?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am coelacanth:

hello Trouble
and Troubled
  11:04am Dean:

I, for one, wish Christie had a chance ... in Hell.
Avatar 11:04am Claw!:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am coelacanth:

  11:07am Dean:

It's actually pronounced "brode," after the megadonor, Eli Broad.
Avatar 11:07am βrian:

"En boca cerrada …"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am coelacanth:

i'm more concerned about what flies out of my dropped jaw than what flies in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am famous original sugarwolf:

Christie was Morris County freeholder when I was living there? Huh!
Avatar 11:10am ----|d¢ (pät)|----:

Sorry I'm late Teach... Pfff! I got to work today, and there was this guy? He was waiting for me? AND, get this: he expected me to do some work!! What the hell??
Avatar 11:10am βrian:

Chelsea is near Ann Arbor.
Avatar 11:10am Erella:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am coelacanth:

so you're saying he lied and deceived to serve himself?
it's hard to imagine a political candidate doing that.
  11:18am Dean:

That's the service NYT is providing, coelacanth. Now you don't have to imagine it. They saw the apology letter that proves it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am coelacanth:

...not saying i'm not glad to see him go; but i'm usually glad to see them go!
Avatar 11:25am Trouble:

i love this cut so much i would like to marry it. if i had to have a them song it would be by francois de roubaix
Avatar 11:26am ----|d¢ (pät)|----:

Hey any Paris peoples: My friends are putting on a show to promote they're book of photos from early DC punk rock scene. The opening is Dec. 10 at Agnés b., 17, rue dieu, in Paris. Ian Svenonius, and Olivia Neutron John will be there providing musics, and Alec MacKaye and Lucien Parkins (photographer) will be talking. The show will go from Dec. 11 to Dec. 31. I have nothing to do with this, just plugging for my pals.
Avatar 11:28am chromaphone:

Nice Trouble. Never heard of Roubaix before you introduced him to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am famous original sugarwolf:

@dc pat: doing work at work?? that's crazy talk!!

I wish I were in Paris.
Avatar 11:28am Trouble:

@ dc pat can you give me a link to something so i can post that to facebook page for my show and perhaps wfmu?
Avatar 11:28am ----|d¢ (pät)|----:

I know, @surgarwolf. I think I need a new "job."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am famous original sugarwolf:

My friend made me a mix-CD with Roubaix on it a few years ago & I was delighted to find he wrote the Chapi Chapo theme.
  11:30am timotato:

Love it! I'm a big fan of Luisa maita
Avatar 11:30am ----|d¢ (pät)|----:

@trouble: all I got was a pdf in an email. I asked them to update they're site but not done yet. I can send you the flyer if you want. the site is: hardartdc.com
  11:31am Dean:

If you love the de Roubaix, Trouble, give this a listen: http://www.allmusic.com/album/matins-gris-music-for-bagpipes-and-accordions-mw0000314919 The title of the recording says it all: Matins Gris.
