Favoriting October 21, 2015: Singles Going Seventies, Vol. III!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listen Pop-up player!

Time for my third Crunch Time show of 2015! Crunch Time is we at WFMU are calling our Silent Fundraiser this year, and I've put together another special show to remind you of how awesome WFMU is (not to mention my show in particular! right?!), and hopefully to motivate you to pledge.

This week is Singles Going Steady Week on WFMU, and tonight I'm bringing you Singles Going Seventies! The program will be limited to singles released from 1970 through 1979 (inclusive) -- but as regular listeners know, this really isn't much of a limitation at all! Saddle up for sassy 7" releases from the seventies: from disco to pop to punk to rock (classic and otherwise) to AM gold, whether it was in the Top 40 or just Bubbling Under you'll hear it all!

Now, because this is a SILENT fundraiser I won't be talking about it much at all during my show which means I'm depending on the written word to convince you to PLEASE PLEDGE! This is the time of year when the money we raised during our 2015 fundraising marathon starts to dry up, and the 2016 marathon is still several long months away, so any help you can offer would be amazing.

If you've already pledged, THANK YOU! Your support is greatly appreciated. If not,
P L E A S E   P L E D G E   N O W !

Stay tuned for more special shows this month, and of course please take a moment to Like The Evan "Funk" Davies Show on Facebook and follow me on Twitter! Thank you.!

Lord Gamblor:

I would have given tonight, but Man City scored in the last minute and spoiled my bet that they wouldn't. Thankfully I won on Real Madrid as I bet they'd tie with Pars St Germain. A good night with $100 profit, but not enough for me to start throwing it around. Well done Mr Ghould.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

In the limited universe of songs with handclaps all the way thru, Maxine Nightengale's is pretty much the best.
  9:55pm
JakeGhould:

Also, old school 45s were pretty much engineered to sound god on average to bad sound systems like crappy car stereos or even AM radios. So to me that makes them really pop out.
