@dale from DIFM comments board -- wouldn't know exactly.. I only have my dial at wfmu.. and sometimes I get it clear, sometimes I get it and it breaks up.. and sometimes its pirated carribean station that is either clear or a bit staticy.. how would I identify CB activity?
Avatar 8:04pm JakeGould:

@bobdoesthings: 100% sure you are not getting CB interference. I remember getting that on VHF aerial antennas back in the 1970s and 1980s. But never once heard that on FM radio to my recollection.
Avatar 8:04pm bobdoesthings:

@dale - does CB interfere with the FM signal? thats a thing?
  8:05pm Loretta's fan:

Yay Becky!
Avatar 8:05pm bobdoesthings:

@jake - ahh. yeah. wasn't sure.. out of my depth on this stuff. curious though.. Wish I could just always get a clear FM signal in.. oh well.. always got the stream..
Avatar 8:07pm Becky:

Hi everybody! Sorry, I only know about CB radios as far as I learned from trucker records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm Parq:

Stuck on a late night at work, Beck. Play it nice.
Avatar 8:11pm JakeGould:

“Breaker… Breaker… We got a convoy coming down the line and we’re going to ruing your FM signal all along the way…”
Avatar 8:12pm bobdoesthings:

@becky - heh, sorry to bring it up.. dale said something on the previous board.. great stuff as usual! thanks
Avatar 8:12pm Becky:

Parq, I'll do my best!
Avatar 8:14pm bobdoesthings:

I can't help but think of Kurt Russel as Jack Burton in Big Trouble In Little China on the CB radio.. "When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye, and asks you if you paid your dues; you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: 'Have you paid your dues, Jack? Yes sir, the check is in the mail."
  8:14pm Dave Z:

Why is this show only an hour ? It deserves 3 !!!!!!!
Avatar 8:15pm Becky:

Thanks Dave - I'd certainly get more exercise that way!
  8:15pm Marcel M:

Sounding good!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm Folsom:

Country Moog is always good.
  8:19pm Dave Z:

I love you.
Avatar 8:20pm Becky:

Probably y'all have heard the pleas before, but as you'll notice, we're in (silent) fundraising mode here at WFMU. I'd love not to play my records in the dark on a crank-up Victrola, so if you have a few bucks to spare, just clicky on that Pledge button over there. Thanks!!
Avatar 8:20pm tonyb:

...i guess my feet don't match. : (
Avatar 8:21pm JakeGould:

Yeah, what she said. I pledged to this show. You can pledge too.
Avatar 8:21pm dale:

no. sorry, just logged in here. i had a cb radio and brooklyn was full of guys using it like pirate radio back in the early 90s. it can't cross over to the fm spectrum as far as i know.
  8:23pm Dave Z:

Did that.
Avatar 8:23pm Lucy:

Right on, dude. Love from SF...
Miss you.
Avatar 8:23pm dale:

cb is only 25 to 27 mhz or thereabouts.
Avatar 8:24pm Becky:

Thanks, Jake and Dave, also Anibal, Chris, Jack!!! You have my everlasting honky tonk love.
Avatar 8:25pm bobdoesthings:

@dale - ahh you confused me.. sorry for rambling on.
Avatar 8:25pm Lucy:

Avatar 8:27pm dj LUCY:

Avatar 8:28pm dj LUCY:

i always have two cigarettes and an ashtray stuck in my head constantly... not sure if you're a Patsy fan
Avatar 8:30pm JakeGould:

The cigarette comment makes me think: Would a country artist vape? Or use an e-cigarette?
Avatar 8:31pm bobdoesthings:

@jake - nah... dip son.
Avatar 8:32pm bobdoesthings:

becky.. you're onto something.. .monty hall vape store!!
Avatar 8:34pm dj LUCY:

Avatar 8:42pm dj LUCY:

Avatar 8:44pm JakeGould:

OMFG the bloodiness of this version of “Cattle Call.” Proud to support a show that plays this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm Asheville Jon:

Cool Becky.

Avatar 8:47pm Becky:

Asheville Jon, have you heard the Live at JD's album? I absolutely adore it.
  8:47pm TimBk:

Becky, my only complaint with your show is that it isn't long enough! Who is that as your avatar? Looks like Veronica Lake, but I'm not sure...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm Asheville Jon:

Don't think I have Becky
Avatar 8:49pm Becky:

TimBk - it is V. Lake, yeah! And Jon, you should track it down - it was released within the last 20 years, from live recordings from a bar in Arizona. It's spontaneous and surprising and just classic Waylon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm Asheville Jon:

But i see it's on youtube, so i'll check it out there. thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm Parq:

Thanks, Miss B. Twas great-times. Make mine a wine instead of a beer, but otherwise, we're on the same page.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm Asheville Jon:

and if you like "later" Waylon, the Waylon Live (Expanded Edition) is really great too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm Asheville Jon:

the MOOG is awesome!
  11:31am Clinton "Hambone" Orman:

Great show Becky! I love picturing these records' journey from Allentown to Jersey City.
